The Beheading Challenge

Well, never let it be said that we resisted a challenge. If anyone has been following the international news lately, muslims are up in arms because of a number of "insulting" cartoons published in the Netherlands depicting the "prophet" muhammad in an unflattering light. Members of the "religion of peace" (or "religion of pieces") are protesting far and wide across Europe, using the self same freedom of speech and assembly to threaten to cut off numerous heads, slaughter numerous infidels and topple governments because Europeans actually exercised their freedom of speech! Coverage here at Powerline; Michelle Malkin; Captain's Quarters

Of course, European leaders are falling over themselves apologizing while the newspapers are publishing the cartoons. The cartoons themselves are actually not that humorous, but any depiction of the "prophet" is verboten and everyone knows 7th century sensibilities must be accommodated. Here's a sampling:
Here's the entire posting of an even dozen cartoons if you're interested. Are these supposed to be funny? For all their sophistication, Europeans sure do have a half baked sense of humor. But by posting these cartoons, we have put ourselves on some half assed muslim jihadist hit list. We're loading the shotguns as we type, barricading the door and making sure to sleep in shifts to defend the homefront. And you people, by reading these cartoons, are also committing a blasphemy against islam - congratulations!

And by deleting two posts, WE are first. Really, is there any point to this? What DO you guys do with your lives? Do you sit in front of the computer and just hit F5 until something new pops up? Don't you have jobs? Don't you have lives? It's Friday night for gods sake - go out and do something. We at least have an excuse for being here (it's just none of your business.)

SCC I'm proud of you. If anyone threatens you, I'll gladly contribute to your weapons fund.

We had a discussion at work today (uhm, a law office) and I commented on an article where they quoted numerous editors, including the Washington Post, as saying they wouldn't run these because they don't run things merely for the purpose of proving a point... at least when it would offend a population.

The retort? Both of the people I was with (on the way to coffee) said they remembered seeing pictures of Piss Christ (funded by the NEA) in local papers back when it was an issue.

I recall no such thing, but I don't doubt it.

Nevertheless, these cartoons should be posted on internet sites across the nation and across the world. Hell, some spammer or another should be sending these pictures as spam to every middle eastern email address we can identify.

Of course, along with porn solicitations!

Ah yes, the Robert Maplethorp exhibit if we aren't mistaken. As long as christianity is the object of perversion, the media is all over it. But offend a muslim and out come the blinders.

Remember Rudy Gulliani trying to pull the funding some New York museum because of the statue of the virgin Mary decorated with elephant dung? Or the other exhibit of Mary decorated with explicit pictures of female genitalia? The media was all about "Freedom of Expression" then and told catholics to lighten up ... but then they won't publish these cartoons because Achmed might come by and cut off their head. Remember Salman Rushdie? Death sentence still intact and reaffirmed every year. Theo Van Gogh? Still dead. Pim Fortuyn? Still dead.

TO DATE, the New York Sun is the only American paper to publish these cartoons. Kudos to them and the internet bloggers!

To SSC:

This is what I fought for as well as my father and my son in the respective wars past and current.

The first amendment is the finest piece of freedom this country possesses.

There is a constant corruption in the guise of "political correctness" that erodes our freedom each day, or tries to.

Your publication on line does not smack of anything other than the democratic expression of freedom and the fearless act of ignoring threats.

Too bad our newspapers failed, our media, and our politicians who stated (to paraphrase) we shall consider this to be a valid censorship item that is insightful and out of the limits of our freedoms.

BULLSHIT !

SALUTE to you, this was a truly excellent tribute to the Chicago Police and The citizens of a free country.

This is what a blog site should waste their time on.
Fine job, these should flood the American press. Why don't they.
(cartoons) Art, freedom of expression. This should begin the era of "Art without borders in America".

And check this out...

you'll see the images of Piss Christ displayed on, among others, the websites of

OK: BT 1611 3rd watch
SCREW UP AGAIN:

Wed. afternoon about 1540hrs., an attempt abduction occurred at Harlem & Touhy. Two M/2's 40-50yrs. old attempted to lure a 16yr old girl into their van at Dunkin Dounuts. Call came out, loads of units responded and girl is O.K. but shaken up.
1611 did NOT relate that it was a policeman's daughter. The father arrived on 016 as the report was being written. Had to have told 1611 that he was a copper. NO one knew for a fact that it was a policeman's daughter. I've heard that Area 5 was not aware of this fact either. Do you think 1611 should have spoken to someone directly. Maybe she was to busy.

One more thing... regarding Theo van Gogh. His message was that violent muslim extremists were a threat to life and liberty in his nation.

His proof? His death. Best stated by words of one of his friends after his death:

"Theo rests his case"

Okay, so we look at the pictures of the guy in the turban and just how do we know that it is, in fact, Muhammad. It looks like just any other Middle Easterner who is choosing to think that they still live in the 7th century. I have to admit, turning that entire part of the world into a glass coffee table with spigots for the oil would work just fine.

I don't recall any christians running around looking to kidnap anyone when a movie comes out slamming Christianity. Christian's will beef, but they don't kidnap and behead. What was that movie called with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as angels and Chris Rock as one of the apostles? The Christians got all bent out of shape, but our government didn't have to apologize for it.
Muslimism is a fairly radical religion, even for the people who aren't in the business of beheading. You watch, this will get worse before it gets better.

New Department Policy as of today:
All jobs in 016 will be given out as follows.....Attn units in 016 and on citywide a relative of a police officer is demanding police service at whatever address. The responding officer will arrive on scene and then get on the radio...19P the offender had 20 FOP stickers on his car, a CPD hat band on the mirror and had that stupid silver retention thingie on his jeans pocket from having his star holder there. Both parties will tell all their friends about the indicent where both of them were actually wrong and then loads of people will get on here and blame 1631 and 1611. The offending P/O will then go to his busy district where he is the real police and proceed to make his one rock pich, get his court and do absolutley nothing to serve the community he gets paid to serve. Oh but how he expects the police around his house to behave so much differently than he does himself!!!

Bush is right. They DO hate us for our freedom. They hate us for our freedom to NOT be slaves to them. They hate us for our freedom to say, "NO!" to them. They hate us for our freedom to fight their terrorist religion.

If you don't think that their entire religion is terrorist-look at the news. Look what they are doing. Anyone who disagrees with them must die. Anyone who does not follow the rules of THEIR religion, must die. Anyone who dares have their OWN belief system (even if it doesn't harm Islam) must die. WHY? Because anything that isn't Islam must be destroyed. That is what they stand for. That is what they believe. That is why they will never stop until they either enslave us or we are dead.

That is why we must fight them.
They hate us and want us dead.

Even now, governments around the world are giving in to their terrorist demands. They are apologizing for being free. They don't want to offend their eventual rulers.

My, aren't they like the Vichy French giving in to the Germans. They know in their hearts the true color of Islam. It is blood red. And they are in fear.

You wouldn't be so quick to challenge Muslims if you had that TARA training or common sense. Check the news and you will see that they have already made several attacks in response to those cartoons. Must we entice them to attack a Chicago Police Officer now?

We're going to have to fight and kill them eventually. May as well be now.

We tried leaving them alone. We tried to live in peace.

They responded with 9/11.

And they will not stop. Ever.

Millions of Muslims live peacefully, work at their job or trade, raise their children, worry about the future, are good to their neighbors, and are general all around good people.

BUT you don't hear of them. Only the jagoffs who want to ensure the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD is Muslim. Those who aren't, too bad, die!

As much empathy as I have for the normal Muslim, this bullshit won't stop until THEY stand up and say "enough!" It is NOT OK to blow yourself up! It is NOT OK to kill innocents! It is NOT OK to to be intolerant of others.

Freedom of religion is also freedom of religion. If you harm no one, you may go to hell in your own way. The fundamentalist cocksuckers need to be wiped off the face of the earth.

Until then, no one will be safe.

Danish paper rejected Jesus cartoons

Gwladys Fouché
Monday February 6, 2006

Jyllands-Posten, the Danish newspaper that first published the cartoons of the prophet Muhammad that have caused a storm of protest throughout the Islamic world, refused to run drawings lampooning Jesus Christ, it has emerged today.

The Danish daily turned down the cartoons of Christ three years ago, on the grounds that they could be offensive to readers and were not funny.

In April 2003, Danish illustrator Christoffer Zieler submitted a series of unsolicited cartoons dealing with the resurrection of Christ to Jyllands-Posten.

Zieler received an email back from the paper's Sunday editor, Jens Kaiser, which said: "I don't think Jyllands-Posten's readers will enjoy the drawings. As a matter of fact, I think that they will provoke an outcry. Therefore, I will not use them."

The illustrator said: "I see the cartoons as an innocent joke, of the type that my Christian grandfather would enjoy."

"I showed them to a few pastors and they thought they were funny."

But the Jyllands-Posten editor in question, Mr Kaiser, said that the case was "ridiculous to bring forward now. It has nothing to do with the Muhammad cartoons.

"In the Muhammad drawings case, we asked the illustrators to do it. I did not ask for these cartoons. That's the difference," he said.

"The illustrator thought his cartoons were funny. I did not think so. It would offend some readers, not much but some."

The decision smacks of "double-standards", said Ahmed Akkari, spokesman for the Danish-based European Committee for Prophet Honouring, the umbrella group that represents 27 Muslim organisations that are campaigning for a full apology from Jyllands-Posten.

"How can Jyllands-Posten distinguish the two cases? Surely they must understand," Mr Akkari added...
