Economic News

Via Powerline and Yahoo:
  • Unemployment down to 4.7%.
211,000 new payroll jobs added in March.
Economic growth has now continued for 17 consecutive quarters.
Consumer confidence is at its highest level in 4 1/2 years.
Since January 2001, real after-tax income per person has risen 8.3 percent.
Construction spending is at a record high.
This might be the ONLY thing that prevents a disaster for the Republicans in November. It's the ECONOMY stupid!

Funny on the westside I see a larger percent of unemployed. How can this be? Oh I forgot they all work for the government. I think because they all get a check. And if the republicans are giving out jobs, why are these people all democrats?

(G-d I love watching these goons get exposed! You're RIGHT S.C.C. -the ONLY thing that can save your beloved R`CANS is MONEY... literally falling from the skies come November 1st... (and only the fabled Seiser can pull that kind of "end of the tour" miracle off!) I really think if Bush doesn't clean house by making Cheney and Rumsfeld walk the plank soon, this Repugnantcon House of Cards shall crunble under the weight of it's own corruption very soon... simply amazing, delightful orgasmically karmic!

Leaker-In-Chief
"Gorgeous George" W. (What? ME Leak?) ArBUSHtout Condemns Leaks »
A court filing by Patrick Fitzgerald yesterday revealed that, in the summer of 2003, President Bush personally authorized Scooter Libby to leak classified information to New York Times reporter Judy Miller as part of an effort to discredit former ambassador Joe Wilson.

A few months later, President Bush – publicly and repeatedly – condemned the leaking of classified information. He also pretended to have no idea who might be responsible for leaking classified information to discredit Joe Wilson.

The fact still remains this country is hemmoraging good living wage jobs with benefits for low paying service sector jobs with no benefits and no collective bargaining rights.Wal Mart is about to surpass GM as the nations largest employer.Even white collar people like engineers and architects are having their jobs outsourced to countries like India and China.People who have worked hard all their lives and were promised a pension at the end of their careers have had the rug pulled out from under them in their "golden years"while CEO's and top executives rake in astronomical incomes, garunteed pension benefits and stock options. Not to mention a tax system heavily slanted towards the wealthiest among us.SCC is correct the economy is doing well. It's the average American worker that's having a hard time.

CPD just created an opening (probably part-time) for a plumber.
Apparently gang-banger convicts are welcome to apply.

I like the quote in the paper yesterday from the black guy regarding the economy, who said, "That's a misconception about us blacks being unwilling to do the jobs that mexican's do. We just want good paying jobs!"

That is double-speak for "Fuck that job..we don't want to do that shit! WE want to be C.E.O. or else just stay home and collect S.S.I."

I dont know what is worse, the media or this blog. I guess the difference is the media has a larger audience. Many of you idiots either put info that shouldn't be put out or you put out false information.

Not only should the media not be in our personal business, but neither should the bosses downtown. It's incredible how many of you have such a difficult time censoring yourselves and how the SCC editors have no idea what should and should not be deleted.

You want to vent about something, this is the forum; you want to rat out an asshole boss, have at it; you want to snitch on fellow officers, I guess this is also the place to do it.

Many of the posters here are no better than the media who rush to get info out without the facts and you're also no better than rat coppers who drop a dime to iad when they feel someone else is getting more than they are.

This blog attracts more pussies than a Nevada Whore house and it's run by morons. Sorry SCC, you've let a potentially good thing go to complete shit.

So have at it dickheads; rat, snitch, tip the media, expose details of our brotherhood.

IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Frank Main probably got his info from one of the assholes that post on this blog. I blame the blog for the media even searching for anything more than the shooting incident itself. The earlier altercation was mentioned here first. Way to go SCC; this is your fault, but I guess you won't see it that way.

Lefty, funny how you forgot to mention how the DEMS in Congress just received a less than 36% approval rating by the Democratic voters.

And YOUR President Clinton was IMPEACHED.

Oh, let me guess Clinton was not YOUR president either.

You also frogot to tell us about the DEM Senator whoes husband was just convicted for not paying his taxes. If they are married she owns half the business and is just as responsible for the taxes. She should be in the Federal Pen with him.

You are a FUCKEN joke!!!

Is the US housing bubble close to collapse?

Credit facilities have taken the place of precautionary deposits. Although most households now have two wage earners, they still have proportionately less discretionary income than 30 years ago, and they have found regular injections of new credit indispensable to maintaining their living standards. In a booming housing market, the mechanisms of mortgage refinancing and home-equity loans have provided abundant cheap credit over the past five years. Yet, remarkably, more than two million individuals filed for bankruptcy last year.

One last item regarding Friday’s job market report:

Nine hundred forty three thousand six hundred (943,600).

No, not the cost of Barbara Boxer’s annual limosuine service.

That’s the combined net payroll gain over the past 12 months posted by these Hoover-itarian sectors:

Finance & insurance, real estate, computer systems design, legal services, accounting & bookkeeping, architecture & engineering, company management, construction, health care services.

BTW, some of the biggest gains last year – nearly 300,000 net payroll jobs – were posted by the health care industry, i.e., doctors, nurses, EMT’s, home health care providers, etc.

Six months to housing hell

Despite these new tactics, last month new home sales still dropped 10 percent and the supply of new homes for sale hit a new high of 550,000, nearly a seven-month supply. (The nationwide supply of existing homes for sale is up 40 percent over last year.) Adding insult to injury, new housing starts are holding up! This is about as silly as GM and Ford running their factories full tilt when it is clear no one is buying cars. As the supply piles up, the buyers take a vacation.

Then the housing market will become a BUYERS market.
