Congratulations CPS Graduates!
- Illinois School Supt. Randy Dunn on Wednesday recommended canceling most--but not all--of the state's contract with testing giant Harcourt Assessment after the company failed to deliver high-stakes tests on time to schools.
The problems led nearly 200 districts to delay testing 3rd through 8th graders this spring and ignited a furor in Springfield, where lawmakers lambasted Harcourt and the Illinois State Board of Education, which oversees state testing.
Legislators questioned everything from whether the results would be valid to why a lobbyist connected to Gov. Rod Blagojevich was involved in helping Harcourt win the $45 million contract in 2004.
According to sources of ours, as a result of this debacle, every single CPS student will be promoted this term. That's right, Social Promotions are back with a vengence. Not only that, but since everyone passes, there WON'T be any summer school this year! At least that's what teacher friends of ours are saying is the current rumor sweeping the halls of CPS land.

I go to publix skool an i dont need no stinkin sumer skool neather. it willnot make me any smartur
thats GREAT!!!! means the school bunnies will be able to man cars and put in real work days in the districts! wonder if they will get put into regular day off groups too, doubt it!

You are kidding right? Day off groups? In cars? A lot of the school bunnies I see will barely fit into squads with their huge.....assets.
But maybe the Tahoe's?

Hey that a great idea! No Summer School, now they can release all of those summer school officer to the street.....finally something that might help
PLEASE READ THIS; I was being sued by the beast i locked up in 1999 for a dope warrant and 2-counts of battery to the police, (me and my partner), the defense they used in the criminal case was that the beast was 18yrs old but had the mind of a 6th grader,so he did not understand our orders to stop fighting,,put your hands behind your back, well about 2-months after entering that defense the beast did not show in court for a hearing,,,NOW CHECK THIS OUT,,WHERE DO YOU THINK HE WAS ON THAT COURT DATE,,YOU KNOW THE BEAST WITH THE 6TH GRADE MIND...HA HA, HE WAS AT HIS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION..AND HE BEAT US IN CRIMINAL COURT BECASUE THEY BELIVED HE WAS A STUPID BEAST...BUT THE CHICAGO SCOOL SYSTEM GAVE HIM HIS DIPOLMA...THE BEAST IS GREAT...HAHA..
ah yes, but you fail to realize the attorney for the city also has only a 6th grade education. But that attorney does have a chinaman.
