Anybody out there care to comment about the Tahoes? Are they better than the Fords? I know they have to be better than the Impalas.

Only thing I can see that sucks is the placement of the siren box.

Stay safe out there everyone.

A great store. Got all of my Cop/Gun stuff there for 18 years now. Mitch is a good guy and he is one of us (A P.O.). Been selling to the deserving coppers since 1956 from their location at 3318 W. Devon Avenue.

Go by there today, and tell Mitch, Harvey, Evan, Cal and Charlene thanks! Sig died about a year ago, kinda cranky, but still had a heart bigger than his ass!

Film star and director Mel Gibson has launched a scathing attack on US President George W Bush, comparing his leadership to the barbaric rulers of the Mayan civilisation in his new film Apocalypto.

The epic, due for release later this year, captures the decline of the Maya kingdom and the slaughter of thousands of inhabitants as human sacrifices in a bid to save the nation from collapsing.

Gibson reveals he used present day American politics as an inspiration, claiming the government callously plays on the nation's insecurities to maintain power.

He tells British film magazine Hotdog, "The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys".

Not as conservative as we thought.

We really like Sgt. Weidig. They don't get any better than him. We never see or hear from him and he doesn't come around on even the most important jobs. Because of his superb leadership skills we are able to blow off most of our jobs and stay down on the ones we do have to go to. If we didn't see him at rollcall or checkoff, we would never even know that he was at work. We love him and hope he never leaves.

Shore Galleries sucks!

I was one of the guys they screwed in 1992 by switching out the night sights. They were dead two years later. I ended up having to replace them at a cost of $100.00.

Not only do they give you a shitty deal, they have bad attitudes. If you ask them a simple question, they look at you like you have four heads.

Recruits, don't buy your gun or equipment from this business. You'd be better served driving out to Ray O'Heron in Oakbrook. At least they are fair and have good customer service.

Ray O'Herron fair?

Umm well, lets see:
1. they charged 35 dollars more for the same gun (P-228) than Shore.

2. The magazines kept breaking in the gun range (they fell apart when I ejected them to the floor)

3. The nite-sites are dead, and Ray won't warranty them.

4. They fired Mike (who was the ONLY guy worth a damn in the whole store)

5. Craig looks at you like a martian for asking ANY well reasoned question.......

Sure recruits, go to Ray O'Herrons just like the tool in 11:51:30 told you.

Mitch is the "Heeb of Hollywood" and the "King of Kosher". You know he is a "German-Jew" but he won't admit to it. Anything for a buck.

The other writer was right, he buys in bulk (like Sol Polk use to do), sits on the weapons and charges the higher prices when the market is ready.

He could equip the Israeli Govt. 10 times over with his stockpile of weapons.

As far as the broken magazines go, it's not his fault that the manufacturer builds crappy mags. to save money. But he should swap them out and send them back for credits. This is where the CPD Range should be saying "Hey, these SIGS are Shit" and we won't allow them on the street until they meet our standards (which is usually a couple dozen free weapons to the bosses to evualate and keep forever).

More Kool aid please!

So I'm at work today and just watched Det. Armel's funeral procession pass down the Dulles toll road. I saluted on behalf of the entire CPD.

As would be expected in a county filled to the brim with law-enforcement and "other" security personnel, the procession is massive. Still going by at 35 or 40 MPH after 35 minutes.

And just in case anyone takes the Virginia-bashing on copswritingcops or the NYPD rant seriously, I'll defend these guys (mostly). There might be a few who go way over the top, just like that guy in 019, but most of them are young and VERY professional. They've extended me courtesy more than once for minor infractions.

And 90% of any courtesies that are not extended I would argue result from the demographics out here. When 80% of the county is law-enforcement, military, intelligence, or in related private industries, somebody has to get an occasional ticket for speeding or whatever.

RIP Detective. There but for the grace of God goes any of us.

News to kick off Police Week -

Police Unity Tour Arrives at Memorial...
Commits $5 Million to the Museum

More than 1,000 cyclists and support crew members of the Police Unity Tour converged on the Memorial today, celebrating and commemorating their fallen comrades through their unprecedented support of the National Law Enforcement Museum. Representing California, Georgia, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Minnesota and many other states -- and including representatives from Israel and the United Kingdom -- the Police Unity Tour announced their $5 million commitment to A Matter of Honor: The Campaign for the National Law Enforcement Museum.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their annual pilgrimage to the Memorial, this year's Unity Tour was the largest ever in terms of riders, support staff and funds raised.

At the arrival ceremony, Unity Tour co-founders Pat Montuore and Harry Phillips, along with Chapter presidents, to present NLEOMF Chairman Craig W. Floyd with a check for $1 million. Since the Police Unity Tour began in 1997, inspired by their motivational motto "We Ride for Those Who Died," these intrepid cyclists have raise more than $3.2 million for the Memorial.

Pictures to follow later!

Over the past twenty-five years I have bought five sets of night sights from Shore's. Some are MeproLight and some are Trijicon.

All long past their due dates for replacement, but they all still work fine and I am on the first watch.

Now Botach Tactical, and Kales, there I have had some problems.

I've dealt with Shore and Ray O'Herron's many times in the last twenty years. It used to be that you had to know someone there before you would get any kind of service and it was usually bad. It's true that O'Herron fired the only guy that took the next person in line and wasn't carrying on a conversation with his friends while selling you a $800 gun. It used to be real bad there unless you were a regular, but last week I was in there and everyone was real decent. Actually they went above and beyond with some vest issues I had. Can't ask for any more than that.

The city had to buy the Impalas or the Tahoes as they are one of the few police packages out there, other than the Ford Crown Vic. Since the city is a party to a lawsuit against Ford, they will not deal with them. So, we end up with the Impalas, until the PD realizes how small they are with the cage in there. Now, it's on to the Tahoes with fuel economy comparable to the 15 passenger vans.

5/13/2006 02:15:34 PM

moron said...
Time stamping and making copies is what is related. I'm not alone in this practice. You know FOP denies time due grievances based on contract. Labor Law then comes into play. If games are being played they need to cease and any tool utilized that may assist in protecting yourself is viable. Hence, time clock stamp and copies along with asking sup. to sign denied. City wide I ask, what can this hurt? Mgmt. wouldn't like it because it appears to make them accountable. Now to me that's a good thing, dont you think? If they refuse you make a notation on the slip. Further I don't like the way FOP did a cut off on accepting denial slips. They should be keeping a running file, what is the basis FOP is using for not accepting copies currently? Court cases have plenty of room for discovery I thought. Maybe you can answer that question as well?

What basis does mgmt. use to deny you and other's time due? Manpower would be the answer, and or no valid reason. Let me ask you, how many get OT because another asked for time. In my entire career, I have yet to see this in regard to CU. If it is happening then it has to be a very select few getting the option to work the OT. That would be a whole different issue in regards to seniority, and possible violation. I don't trust the city one bit with my time or money, due you?

If new lanuage between the lodge and city is to be entered in the next contract we have to be very careful in relation to this subject. For anyone interested in the time due battle. Go to this website:

on the right side top of pg. you will see (May) click on it, scroll down to (Time Due On Demand) and read the potential arguments.

A "heads up" for you and any male friends you have who may be regular Home Depot customers.

This month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you.

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking 20 or 21-year-old girls come over to your car as your packing your shopping in the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot.

You agree and they get in the back seat. On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and performs oral sex on you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen May, 4th, 6th, 8th, twice on the 10th, and three times yesterday, and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

Again - please beware!

Orozco didn't go to the w/c first with the toy gun. she inventoried it first, called the gun desk, (BB gun) and then went to the desk with the inventory submitted. Called the fucking gun desk!!!!

Ask your W/C to show you the cartoon (Streaming Video) on Homicide Trend.

It’s a short, maybe three minutes, and it takes place in the big I-Kiss-Your-Ass-You-Kiss-Mine room at HQ. It gives you an insight into what’s going on downtown, their complete lack of connection to police reality, and the way they love to bask in their own bullshit.

(Hint: Listen for Dave Sobjerk, Past-Master of corporate doublespeak, as he walks the Village Idiots through a week of shootings. You’ll hear painfully obvious stuff the greenest rookie can dope out, listen to incredible pronouncements and suggestions based on an in-depth lack of understanding about street police work, straight from the horse’s ass, and you will actually hear him suggest “De-Victimization Strategies”. Really!)

The upshot is that too many dudes are getting capped in their cars, so Dave wants to get them outside the ride, so’s they can get capped in the streets.

And you wonder why this place is so screwed up?
