Congratulations Al O'Connor

Officer Al O'Connor was singled out today at the Police Recognition Ceremony for the Police Medal. As it was explained to us, this is the highest honor that can be given to an individual officer by the Department itself. It is different from the Lambert Tree (a City Council Award?) and is given in addition to an Award of Valor or similar award (which Officer O'Connor also received) for actions deserving special recognition.

We also read in a comment section that Officer O'Connor did not win the America's Most Wanted national award, but those results aren't supposed to be out until Saturday. Whoever has inside info, let us know if possible. If it's just another rumor, it'll be dispelled by Saturday.

If Officer O'Connor didn't win, that's too bad, but we hope that whoever did is as deserving. To be singled out as one of 8 finalists is a great honor in and of itself. And the Lambert Tree Award is still upcoming. Officer O'Connor is on the short list for that award also.

I just heard that Walters from the 19th District locked up a brother of an officer "killed in the line of duty" 2 days before St. Jude?
Also heard the guy he D U I'd has another brother on the job in Lincolnwood?
If this is true where was the WC that night?
Why did the WC NOT kick this copper Walters right out of his office and RWOC?
And most importantly, what are you coppers from 19 gonna do about this guy Walters?

I worked with him in the late 80's and early 90's in 015. He'd eat the meat off your motherfucking bones like it was an appetizer. One of the baddest men I've ever met. Fuck with him at your own risk. You've been warned.

I worked with him as well. A beast of a man. Some of the crazy shit he did I would never repeat. Let the internet tough guys sign their names when they call him out. Then get some extra insurance.

So are you condoning what Walters did to a Gold Star Family Member 2 days before St. Jude?

Why not give the guy a ride home?

Someone posted, "what are you gonna do about it"? To me he is calling the guy out, by the way you have his last name wrong. If your gonna call someone out, be a man and post your name. Better yet tell him to his face. After all, you are right, right? You shouldn't be ashamed to stand up. Put your name on there tough guy.

You sicken me. He never sandbags people, but he is very efficient in what he does. I have never seen him fuck anyone who didn't deserve it.
But once I heard that 6 days before the Winter Solstice that he locked up this guy who was once roommates with a guy whose sister was once dating a guy one the job.
Relationships and time of the year are irrelevant. He is one of only a handful of copper actually doing this thankless task. If you drink and drive you put my family at risk. So fuck you and all your self-righteous indignation.

Congratulations to Al O'Connor, GOOD JOB!!

I can't believe they gave that asshat Mike Murphy an award for annoying the f**k out of everyone over the Memorial Foundation. The memorial would have been built already except Mike has turned more people against the memorial than he has gotten to donate. You're doing a great job Brownie!

CONGRATS to Officer O'Connor!!
Although he didn't win the AMV All Star Award, he IS an all around All Star for what he did!! God bless you.

(here's the email from amv)-

Sheriff David Shoar is the 2006 AMW All-Star.

The 2006 AMW All-Star Is...
If you have been reading the All-Star pages of AMW.COM carefully you know we said the 2006 AMW All-Star would be revealed Saturday, May 13. But after months of nominations and voting, when the results were tallied we just couldn't wait. Thousands of votes were cast over the last two weeks for each finalist.

The competition was tough -- each finalist an All-Star in a unique way. There was much debate here at AMW over who the public would cast the most votes for. But in the end the 2006 AMW All-Star is David Shoar, Sheriff of St. John's County, Fla. Voters were no doubt touched by Sheriff Shoar's accomplishments over a 25-year-career in law enforcement, as well as his selfless pledge to donate the entire $10,000 grand prize to one of his deputies who recently suffered a stroke and needs the money for medical expenses. When we talked to Sheriff Shoar this morning, he was humbled to be able to represent first responders across the nation -- typical of a man who has spent the last two decades looking out for others.

I don't even know Al but congratulations. But, I do know those guys on the Area Two Gun Team make me horny. How can those girls on their team work with the distractions of those muscles. The chests and arms on several of those guys drive me crazy with lust.

MAKE HIM A MERIT SGT THEN.

And make a merit Sgt. who could be looked up to? Besides I know Al and he doesn't have perky C-cups an exempt uncle or suck cock ( the 3 major indicators of merit potential).

Was there a list of all the cops that got an award? Thats what SCC should have posted, all the people that got awards and what kind of award. I work special and work with different people some of the time and meet cops from different districts. Would be nice just to know who got what. Does anyone know of such a list? I honestly don't know what that FOP does for me other then take my damn union dues. That award ceremony in downtown Chicago at the Hilton was THE award ceremony and who got what is no where to be found. Anyone there that can post some names? Thanks.

CALL FOP AND DEMAND A LIST OF AWARDEES. YOU HAVE TO SPEAK UP. GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH. I SCREW WITH FOP EVERY CHANCE I GET. I CALL DAILY AND ASK ABOUT WHEN EVERY LIST IS GOING TO BE OUT WHETHER ITS THE LTS,SERGEANTS,DETECTIVES, OR WHO IS GOBBLING DOWN IN AREA 2. AND IF THEY RUB ME THE WRONG WAY, I SCREW WITH THEM MORE. I RIDE A HARLEY AND HAVE FOUND OUT IF YOU SPEAK UP AND ARE REAL LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS YOU GET RESULTS. THE FOP IS WORKING FOR YOU, YOU ARE NOT WORKING FOR THEM. YOU ARE PAYING THEIR SALARIES.

if p.o. walter wrote a dui to a coppers family member, or even a gold star family member, it was probably deserved. i personally don't write dui's, but it is a necessary task. sometimes when police or their family members get stopped for possible dui, are they discrete about it ?? no, they make it a point to holler," my (take your pick) is the police and you can't do this. what is the p.o. supposed to do ? why should the policeman or police woman have to take some drunken fool's abuse in front of many civilian non-police affiliated persons who are witnessing the whole situation unfold? not to dismiss the point that the arrestee had a family member killed, if he was this night and has a history of getting bombed and acting like a complete asshole and using his brothers name to get out of trouble, shame on him. but, i'm sure that anyone reading this post was not there to see his actions, so how can you judge the p.o. on his actions without hearing all of the facts. if you are the police or the family of the police, keep your mouth shut and show a little respect. you'd be surprised how far that goes. to the guy that said to tell p.o. walter to his face, you are correct. this man is bigger than many pro athletes, but fortunately for the anonymous guy that wants to slam him, if you did get the balls to sign your name to your post, i'm sure as a favor, he would beat you into unconsiousness quickly so the rest won't hurt as bad. but seriously, i know p.o. walter. and he wouldn't do anything like is posted here unless he was given no other choice. just ask the sergeant from 023 who got alot less than what he deserved when stopped by p.o. walter. anyone can slam another copper anonymously for what they feel is a sandbag job, but more times than not, when all of the facts are heard, the police were left with no other option. be safe all. as for not backing someone else up on a stop... how ignorant are you ? we are the only ones who will protect each other. all of us have backed up p.o.'s who were supposedly not worth a lick, but we all have families to go home to. just stop and wait if you don't want to get out of the car, but we can't get to the point to where we don't back each other up...dickhead. to the poster at 11:44 p.m. if you are so bad, don't ask the guys from 019 what they are gonna do...go take care of business with him on your own. thought so, pussy.

Way back when, Officer Al would have been immediately promoted to Detective for starters, and then sent for official training with the next class, whenever that is. He should then be everyones choice for meritorious promotions up the ladder if he continues to pan out.

But to just just throw him the keys to 711 and tell him to hit the street is crazy.

Come on Phil, finish the buffet and sign the order.

Although I don't know all the facts, it is sad that a gold star family member was DUI'd. Maybe there were reasons the copper had to that we are not aware of, but couldn't he have just made sure the guy got home ok? I for one am big against drinking and driving, having someone very close to me currently in prison for AGG DUI that involved a fatality. If you do pull over someone drunk that you don't want to DUI, please make sure they have a safe way home. Just letting them drive off is not only risking your job, but possibly the drunks or someone else's life. Think of all the coppers and their families on the road...how would you feel if the guy you "did a favor for" was the one that killed them? Just a thought. I am not saying you HAVE to DUI anyone...just make sure they don't risk their lives or anyone else's.
