St. Michael's House

We don't claim to be wired into every little thing that happens in this department, but we know that a whole bunch of people who know a bit more than we do read this site. We must confess to being unaware that St. Michael's House had closed. When did this happen? Any reason why? And as one of our more astute readers asked, is the City still collecting money as a charity check off? We did notice that the Department seemed to be pushing a few other counseling services.

I don't know the facts surrounding St. Michael's but if it even helped one serious alcoholic get clean, then it was worth every penny ever collected!

the F should investigate Fr.Nangle and his shady activities, and what he does with his money, like his summer home etc.

Fr Nangle removed himself from St Michael's the last time these ugly rumors about him surfaced. He resides in the Mercy Home. The St Michael's House is now home to the CIT Unit and also the Counseling Unit. I consider any attack against Fr Nangle a lie. Unsubstantiated rumors that drove a good man away....

Again, I'm not totally 100% sure why it closed, but we did receive a letter from them informing us that they were closing. My spouse and I went there for counseling, and got a lot out of it. We were like most couples who were just having marital issues, and they were really good there. We figured our marriage was worth saving and improving for our children, and it certainly helped. I do know that part of their closing had to do with the death of one of the counselors there, Gerald Bolger. He died about a year ago I think.

Anyway, for those that think it's just for the alcoholics and feel the need to blast it, you may want to check yourself. They did a lot more than that, it's sad to see it go. I would guess that most people on this job have 1 time where it might help to talk to someone, about whatever stresses you, and that's what they did.

Leave Father Nangle alone asshole~he's a good guy and loves us when no one else does. As for his summer home, who cares? He never hurt anyone and is always there for us.

Fr. Tom Nangle is a class guy. He sincerly cares about the real police. I often wonder if generation "X" and "Y" understand what it means to be the real police. I did my time in fillmore -the officers there do understand as well as many other places in the city. God Bless Fr. Nangle.

Fr. Nangle has been gone from St. Michael's a long time, he is a great man and a strong supporter of cop's.
