Violent Crime Up Nationwide

According to the FBI stats for 2005.

Table 4 lists Chicago statistics. Burglary and Robbery were up, everything else down. Most of it was fractional movement at best, aside from a 10,000 incident drop in the Theft category. How did we get 10,000 less incidents of Theft? Was there a revamping of the reporting criteria? Because we haven't noticed and reduction in calls on the radio recently.

The Dept.'s direction of total attention to Agg Bat cases, etc, equals a rise in the crimes against property. Now, watch the scramble. Didn't you predict this already, SCC?

Oh yeah, I'm first, beyotches!

If they'd quit devoting resources to extra-strength heroin the property crimes would drop through the floor. I honestly cannot see one single justification for allocating resources to the Fentanyl stuff when every drop of this stuff sold, Fentanyl or not, is part of a cycle that leads to a user's death in the majority or even the vast majority of cases. Regular ole junkies don't often make it to 70 or even 60, and its the habit that can always be tied to their early and premature death.

So why try to save one at the expense of others, or even worse, at the expense of preventing new users from putting that needle in their arms the first time.

Let the Fentanyl crowd die and at least we'd see one tangible result.

CAPS is the biggest waste of $$$$ on the department. Eliminate CAPS and hire MORE cops. Is Vance Henry still affiliated with the Vice Lord Nation?
Hello Federal monitor?
Why does the CPD have an affiliate of the Vice Lords sitting in on Level III DOC meetings or inside HQ at all???
I guess it's OK since Daley is mobbed up via marriage etc........

Let's see back in the "70's" we were given instructions to reclassfy crimes. Burglaries became thefts, thefts becames lost and found or missle X's, Robberies became assault when there was no physical injuries, Robberies with injuries became batteries, batteries became assaults, assaults became referrals for warrants....Wonder what they're using know?
