WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Army, aiming to make its recruiting goals amid the Iraq war, raised its maximum enlistment age by another two years on Wednesday, while the Army Reserve predicted it will miss its recruiting target for a second straight year.
People can now volunteer to serve in the active-duty Army or the part-time Army Reserve and National Guard up to their 42nd birthday after the move aimed at increasing the number of people eligible to sign up, officials said.
It marked the second time this year the Army has boosted the maximum age for new volunteers, raising the ceiling from age 35 to 40 in January before now adding two more years.

Commander Dean the Dream hopefully may start to realize that if you keep fucking with people, threaten to move them, dump them, transfer them, change their shift and lie to them about it, there may be consequences that follow. Dean is a person that would never understand what it is like to be on the shit list and have no clout to call and get off it. Dean's parents have taken care of there baby boy all the whole 15 years he has been on this job. He has hit rock bottom with his Homicide guys and has no one left to dump or threaten to move. He has people walking on eggshells and unfortunately one person cracked. Dean has no realization when you screw with a person for no good reason it effects there career, family life, financial situation and frame of mind. RIP Scott.

Scott didn't kill himself because he was being transferred to the juvenile processing center, he did it because the cowards that run Area 5 refused to tell him the truth and strung him along for a week lying about it, which caused him a great deal of stress. The jerk in charge has no idea that he made the guy feel like a piece of shit by singling him out of all of the elgible candidates and then lacking the balls to explain why. Maybe if he had a family and real job stresses like the rest of use, he could understand that.

If Andrews is an asshole, then he's an asshole. But you've never dealt with suicide if you think getting "strung along" at work caused it. Suicide is usually the end result of a severe mental illness (unless you were a Roman aristocrat). There are triggers that cause the person to do it, but those triggers can be completely arbitrary. Blaming it on bosses at A/5 diminishes the real problem. Most suicidal people do a very good job of hiding their struggle from everyone. Getting dumped to the jizz center is not about to bring on the life crisis getting indicted or cleaned out in a divorce will. Your friend was obviously in a lot of pain. I've had several suicides in my family. I'll say a prayer for him and his family.

Did you ever stop to think that the trigger was this situation at work. Whatever other problems he was having were made 100 X worse by his situation at work. Scott was a good detective who did not deserve being treated that way. I dont think that it was the move itself that was the problem. It was the way that he was treated. The reason his name was even put on that list was because the commander and his lackeys didn't like him. If they dumped everyone in the unit that they didn't like or who didn't like them youd be able to drive a bus around the floor and not hit anyone. Time for them to stop playing games.
