Coppers Hurt in Crash

Squad car crash just after noon on Friday:

Any updates on how they're doing? Preliminary reports were serious, but stable. And then we heard nothing more.

Update, it was actually one P.O. Injuries are at this time not life threatening. Seat belt definitely saved his life.

The officer was taken to St. Farancis in Evanston. He suffered a broken hip and some broken ribs. He was t-boned in an intersection, driver of the offending vehicle stated he ran from latin kings who pointed a gun at him.
Only good thing out of this is I hear he will not need metal plates, screws, or pins.
The officer and his family will be in our prayers.

To the uninitiated, the above post mentioning "RMP accidents" is obviously from our NYPD brethren.

RMP = Radio Motor Patrol = (marked precinct/district)squad or beat car.

God bless both Chicago and New York's Finest

God bless ALL of our police. Keep them safe and well.

Even the asshats, kool-aid slurpers, exempt pension squeezers, hispanic ass-eaters (OLE'!)

God damn the dope/rib/40 oz worshipping animals, dogs, rats and duke in particular.

Among the skells, perps and scumbags in Garfield Park, any 10-13s with felony collars?

They could use a few cocobola shampoos before they hit the SH.

It seems that the Kool-Aid drinkers down at the Puzzle Palace no longer believe in well-deserved tune-ups for these fuckin' savages.

Time for lunch on the arm before we go in the coop to rest our eyes.

Precincts in Brooklyn North and da Bronx really suck. Mostly good bosses but I need a hook to get into MidTown North.

you New Yorkers are A-OK.

When we went to NYC after 9-11 to help youse guys, we were treated very nicely. As nice as can be expected after such a tragedy. One of the memorable moments in my career.... I directed traffic about 4 miles from ground zero, and a few days later we all worked worked at a makeshift morgue helping to ID bodies and securing valuables for next of kin.

NYC is welcome on our turf anytime.

PS: I love the site www.thekidfrombrooklyn.com

Stay safe my friend!

Man, so much love being sent out to the NYPD readers/posters on this blog. Imagine, if we could only find it among ourselves as fellow CPD members to send the same out to each other. Instead,
visitors to this blog get to see
some of our most ignorant, racist
breathren at their worst. Go figure...

AMEN!!! They NYPD definitely deseves our love, but wouldn't it be nice if we could give that same love to the people who back us up everyday. Yes, there are some people who are useless, but for the most part, we all back each other up and fight the same battles.

As sad as it seems, CPD Officers only give each other love after one of our own dies.

To 7/08/2006 07:41:53 AM,

Happy he'll be okay. Everyone one of the assholes who ever hits another car always claim the same bullshit, "he, or they pointed a gun at me". I remember a double fatal ten years ago at Chicago and Ashland around midnite. Dog in Cadillac strikes two yuppie artists in a Ford Feista, flees briefly but returns and makes same claim. In fact the person he ID'S as shooter is a banger and he drives back to scene as well. Major accidents never proved striking drivers claim. But second banger killed in traffic accident near same intersection two years ago. Some justice after all.

THE DRIVER of the vehicle was PINNED in by the PDT and mount which shattered his pelvis!
W/O that piece of non working shit there he wouldn't have been hurt that bad and certainly wouldn't have a shattered PELVIS.
LAW SUIT AGAINST DEPT. FOR UNSAFE VEHICLE SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! SHIT PLACEMENT OF THESE HAVE HURT NUMEROUS OFFICERS. MAYBE THEY SHOUlD HAVE A PLASTIC BREAK AWAY AT THE BOTTOM SO THEY CAN BE SNAPPED OFF WHEN AN OFFICERS BODY IS SLAMMED INTO THEM AT 6 G-FORCE AFTER SOME ASSHOLE RUNS INTO YOU.
By the way a authorized ride along was in the vehicle. NOW WE REALLY SEE DOLLAR SIGNS!!! SIGNED WAIVER OR NOT!

Anybody working during Mike's accident notice how dispatcher mumbled she had a call of police car in accident and 2413 wasn't answering their radios at same location then went on to clear her board/deal with bullshit assignments. Fellow P.O. had to get on air and request clarification. "Did you say you got a call of squad car accident and P.O. isn't responding? Are we sending cars, ambulances?" After scene was secured I asked around and most guys didn't know 2413 was in trouble till they heard one of our own making them clarify/re-read the assignment. Dispatch fucked up this time. Gotta clear that "naked man at Swedish Hospital" call before taking care of the police on the street. Gave me the red-ass, thats for sure.

The Dispatchers, with very few exceptions, have been dropping the ball on all 13 zones and all the CW's. I think they need to be retrained and understand that the priority is the Officer, not clearing the BS jobs off the board. There are far too many coppers left hung out to dry by the dispatchers. Other Officers have to understand the call for help, or whatever, themselves and respond accordingly because the squad operator hasn't a clue.
Also, when there is an in-progress job of some importance and the info is being added either by callers or Officers on scene, can you tell me what the hell is so difficult about updating the event with the most current info, perhaps running a plate if involved? Instead coppers are forced to as "Plate info again?", or "direction of Flight?" or anything else. The OEMC is a crock of shit. The call takers are illiterate, most dispatchers have no common sense, and not to mention there are a few that treat coppers like shit, like subordinates. Any thoughts?
