Congratulations!

Welcome to the World's Most Boring Blog!

We told ourselves (you can check the archives) that we had no illusions about this blog being anything but a 21st century version of the shithouse wall. We kept it that way for a reason - we figured coppers could use it to share stories and info that otherwise would never get told. And for over a year, it's been pretty much along those lines.

We've been overly lenient with the comments sections, allowing quite a bit of give and take. We've censored things we don't like based on OUR preferences. We've deleted things that named names when requested and when we figured it had absolutely no merit in staying on the board. We told ourselves that when we started spending more time watching the blog rather than contributing to it, that'd be the day we take action. We were even lenient with that figure, spending somewhere close to two thirds of our time monitoring rather than enjoying.

Today, we ended up deleting about 75% of the comments, and that is just total comments. If you run by word count (with the asswipes who repost entire articles, the word "OLE" or "DELETE" 500 times, the mad reposter and the other crap) we probably deleted 90% of today's posts.

Now it ends. If you want to post a comment, post away. All comments will go into a holding tank. Once a day, maybe twice on our days off, we will go into the tank, decide which posts should see the light of day, flush the rest, and publish. No more give and take. No more instant feedback. Also, no more "OLE," no more "DELETE, no more Klan bullshit or anti-Semitism or "nigger" even if reverend Meeks says it's ok.

Certain individuals pushed and pushed and we held the line while we could. We backed up and made excuses to ourselves and our readers that we could keep up with it. Now we push back - and we push hard. Apologies to everyone who truly tried to make this an enjoyable site. It was a good run. We are currently looking into blogging on another platform that will allow registered users.

Well done SCC. I think you've chosen a route that could lead back to real dialouge, interesting rumors, and some good venting.

Yup coppers can screw up anything. Why not just go back to registered posts SCC? I would think that would be less a strain on your time.

Coppers ruin EVERYTHING. Every forum from second city cop to blue wave, to this has been ruined by people who like an ignorant mob post comments anonymously that they would never have the stones to say in person.

This blog is done like the ones before because the only way anyone will truly post here is anonymously.

The problem here is that there are people who are not police who post stuff to stir up crap. There are also people who ARE police that also post stuff to stir up crap.

It was nice while it lasted.

You tried and failed just like the rest.

It really is too bad.

Thanks SCC for the thought, but like I said, coppers ruin everything.

SCC, why do you sound surprised at what happened? Did you think there were going to be intellectual "conversations"? Get over yourself. But this probably won't make it on. Oh well.

We aren't surprised. We expected it. But we are disappointed that even after all the warnings, all the pleading, all the gentle direction prodding people to behave, we still have to be everyone's mother. A few people ruin it for all.

KUDOS to SCC.

Leave it to the police to mess up a good thing, it never fails.

To "OLE", "Ni**er","Delete" and the rest of the racist cowards on this blog...thanks a lot...idiots.

Thank you! I look forward to getting back to the issues at hand and helping each other out. If I needed/wanted stupid shit, there's plenty of places for that. It's just unfortunate that some people have to ruin it for others, but I guess that's the nature of the game!

I'm not surprised this happened. There is a lot of good information brought about on this blog but unfortunately the idiots who keep posting crap have overtaken the blog. I think a lot of the posters who post their B.S. are not the Police but Trolls. I hope this works out and perhaps you should think of going to a registered post.

Good for you SCC!!!
Its about time. I for one, would welcome a registered board. This way, it will be primarily PO's. I for one, am not afraid of what I say. I just use the anonymous post because it is easier. Yes, we all know that the random kiss-ass will give his/her boss their password, but it will prevent trolls and non/LE from "contributing" to this website.

Great Move SCC, one suggestion though, why not enable some of your trusted friends to review posts so that the blog could be a bit more real time?

Thank you, thank you....I have been reading and posting on occasion, scrolling through the trash and wondering when it would end. Yes, coppers are their own worst enemies, but on a blog like this, you just don't know who is posting or what their agenda is. Non-police who read this blog could assume we are all police, when most of us can tell who IS and ISN'T by the content and context of the post. Some of the posts this weekend were too weird (even for this blog) and better off gone. Maybe part of a plan to driver readers/posters away? I'm sure it almost worked for alot of us. Glad you stepped in.

That garbage wasted everyone's time trying to keep up with the real information. I've had SCC regulars rag on my blog abut the gay porn, insults and just plain trash wasting space.

I went to the comment hold & review system long ago because of spammers and whack jobs.

The SCC blog is more like a chat board. Perhaps a new format like the NYPD RANT would serve SCC better. Users can post pictures and even videos. You can also ban juvenile miscreants from future posting.

It would be interesting how many new photos and videos of the lovely Chris Hitney might show up that way...

Good for you SCC! I've read this blog for quite some time now to see what the troops had on their minds. It's okay to gripe and complain because some one out there might have an answer or be able to understand. It's okay to have an opinion, but a lot of this stuff is just pure hate and ass bustin. We need this place SCC, but registered users is really the answer. This site should be cops talking to cops. TALKING,....providing info and opinions. All the other hate, and profanity, and sexual delusions can go on other blogsites. Good for you SCC. I'll be watching for your registered site.
From,
a boss trying to do the right thing.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it will be OK to bash and trash bosses by name, but public figures like Oprah are off limits. Tasteless jokes are OK if they are about women, but the truth about the ghetto is racist? Posting names of our so called "fellow" cops who hurt hteir own is off limits, but...well I guess you had to start somewhere. This thing realy started to turn into an ugly mess. Kudos to you, but dleleting posts about Oprah? That may be going too far.

You can bash all the bosses you want by name. WE will decide what goes up on the blog.

You can pick at Oprah to your hearts content. But WE will decide if your criticisms are actually critical or just the whinings of a sexually frustrated individual.

Tasteless jokes that make us laugh will probably make it onto the site. We still have a sense of humor.

Posting the "truth" about the ghetto? Knock your socks off - but you better do it efficiently, correctly and with a minimum of muss and fuss. Go back to where we ripped Pfleger a new one after the Meeks incident. Go back to where we held the superintendent's feet to the fire for not coming out and supporting the troops inthe Hampton incident. We criticize in a sane, controlled manner and manage to avoid profanity most of the time, racial invective all of the time and other inappropriate bashing altogether.

Try it, you might find you have a talent for it.

You should change the name of the site to SECOND CITY THOUGHT CONTROL POLICE

HAHA, I KNOW THIS IDEA WILL NEVER PASS THE CENSOR GENERAL

Thanks, SCC. I was so sick and tired of scrolling through the b.s. to find the real topics. I could care less is someone is male or female, short, tall, fat, thin bald, hairy, straight, gay, white, black or hispanic. I want to read about and contribute to REAL issues on our Department. None of that other stuff matters.

Good for you SCC. Do what you gotta do.
The blog was really getting lame,
but like a bad train wreck, I couldn't stop reading it.
Maybe this will help get it back to the point it was when I started following it.
Thank you again for running it.

Anonymity is key if we hope to find out valuable information. Like how the city, department or FOP is screwing us. If an individual is privy to inside/important information it's because those providing it to him assume he isn't sharing it. Those "whistleblowers" need to maintain their anonymity if they are to continue providing information, or continue keeping their jobs! If our names were available, who in their right mind would share any info that could potentialy better us? We don't need Martyrs, we need information. In addition, if anyone feels the need to identify themselves they can simply tack it on the end of a posting. The best of both worlds. Your new policy, SCC, is effective. Thanks for not quitting!

about time!! I was getting tired of "ole" area 2 gun team, and just about half the nonsense posted. Although I must confess a bit of nonsense myself from time to time, I usually try to keep on subject.

Tell the "ole" people to go sit on a tack!

There may be naysayers, but I'm sure it'll get back around to being about real ISSUES like it USED to be about...not a cesspool where people mainly were slinging "shit" around.
