Ethics Testing...

...has been delayed according to the AdminFax out of HQ.

Here's the thing about the testing that we've heard. It's unfailable. Seriously. It's kind of like the Lieutenants Test of 4 years ago where 800 people took it and 800 people passed, so every sergeant who had taken the test was eligible to get promoted.

The testing is divided up into half a dozen "chapters" or so and there's a quiz attached to each chapter. To move through the test, you have to pass each part in turn or you get booted back to the beginning until you get the questions correct.

And we have to go through this every year for the next couple of decades. Ain't life grand?

Well......just another example of how much of a joke this city is, how fraudulent and incompetent departmental leadership is. With continued incompetence, corruption, political patronage, and lack of integrity and character, at least we can claim one thing: consistency....

[Very] SORRY about mixing it up on 'this' blog-site but it's the latest and I feel it important enough to print.

To ALL those that braved the rain [entire ceremony] for the Gold Star Memorial and Park ribbon cutting........simply, Thank You!

ALL ranks were represented and the Gold Star Families were in awe of our attendance, despite the crappy weather. [Talk about co-inky-dink] Tom Skilling was the M.C.! [ He did an admirable job]

Our Honor Guard once again did us proud. From the posting of the colors, the three statue-like members that graced the center stage [would even make the USMC Silent Drill Team proud] and stood at attention throughout the entire ceremony, to the "21 gun salute and 'TAPS' " WE* were well represented. [* = emphasis added]

For those able to make the historical premier official dedication and candle light vigil on Monday, 18 September, you will be most impressed by what you witness there and leave with a newfounded respect for our profession.
For those that cannot attend, all that is asked that you keep our members that made that "Ultimate Sacrifice" in you thoughts and prayers.
Despite the many setbacks, YOU can hold YOUR head up high as YOU are a member of that revered product of... "Chicago's Finest!"
Stay safe my brothers and sisters and remember that "Thin Blue Line."

30+ and 'still' proud !

Here't an idea. Lets demote 100 Sgt. and about 50 Lts. That last couple of batches were worthless. 35th St. could start with ones that have made bonehead desisions. I don't mean just one dumb idea cause we all have done that once in a while. I mean the ones who are too young, too little time on the job, sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, girlfriends, boyfriends, significant others whether they are straight or homosexual relationships. Look at these pimp-squeeks and evaluate their activities.
You will find, if a legit evaluation is conducted, Lts. demonted to Sgt. of even lower. Some maybe to crossing guards.
There should be a probationary period for Sgt., Lts. Capts.and above.
1 yr. for Sgts. 18 months for Lts. and Capts. Everyone can make a wrong decision but when someone earns the reputation of a complete asshole they should be looked at.
I've seen Dets. who have been promoted to sgt. and still don't have a clue of how an investigation is conducted. New Lts. are even worse.
TOO MANY KIDDIE COPPERS BEING PROMOTED. I guess you can thank your uncle-daddys and take your promotion. It won't change.
If your a younger or even older copper, beware, these incompetent assholes will burn you to save their own political asses.

To 9/13/2006 01:50:26 AM,

You're a fucking idiot. Did you lose your wife to some young buck patrolman or newly promoted sergeanr you miserable half-wit? Did a "two year" wonder fly in at 90 MPH to bail your sorry ass out of a bad westside domestic you couldn't handle, or worse yet, you escalated? Based upon the stupidity you post I think my sixteen-years must count for qaudruple whatever the amount of time you have on. Not bragging too much, my accomplishments speak for themselves. But the continual posts damning anyone with little time on the job is getting old. There are coppers with a year on who stand head and shoulders above cretins who somehow managed thirty-plus years without getting fired or killed due to thir own stupidity. I'll take a college educated kid with common sense and enthusiasm over some moron who worked "the jail" before coming on(real college, real degree-from police family a definte plus!). I cut the old timers slack and defer to their experience. But there are plenty of old timers who were worthless just new guys once upon a time. And I don't see the AARP over-represented when a call for assistance comes out on Zone Ten. So stuff it windbag, and buy your trailer at Sun City.

"Disgusted in Area 5"

Based on your last paragraph in your comment under the "Word From on High" thread (8:52:27 AM), you are herein diagnosed as clinically insane.

To mention the antichrist himself, LeRoy Martin, in the same breath as the word "ethical" is an incontrovertible indicator that you are delusional, perhaps even psychotic.

Consider a voluntary admission to a psychiatric facility. In any event, please seek psychotherapy and take your meds.

While I tend to agree with most of your other statements, your"LeRoy Martin" and "ethics" comment is beyond redemption.

Perhaps you are the antichrist himself, posing as Area 5 personnel.

Their are very few members of the CPD who have a legitmate use for an unmarked take home city car

The DC can drive his personal car to work and use the unmarked when hes there for official business

Others ( ADS chiefs etc) can leave the car at the district station closest to their residence and take it from there.

Maybe Philbert the Supt needs a company car to take home maybe

COLLEGE EDUCATED????????

Hey little boy, police work isn't about how many some professor squeezed your ass in school, or how much liberal-left wing shit you were taught. Police work is about being a man and knowing how to do a man's job. College isn't going to help you there. Common sense and a set of balls win's out, but maybe not in Chicago.

Don't these boss's make a good sum of cash? Why do they even need cars to take home? I say be cost effective save the city taxpayers tons of money and balance the budget.

Require them to drive their own vehicle and pay for their own gas along with the expense of wear and tear on their wayward home journeys and joy rides. Majority already at headquarters anyway, that's probably the real reason why they have a car in the 1st place. As they would need a second space for their personal vehicle. You see it's all a big conspiracy. That's why they under shot on the lot and grew out of it so fast. Sheer movers and shakers, no pun intended, I think. Just the same all company cars should be in the rear of the lot, let them exercise and walk for a change. Cline does not need a front spot, as an able body picks him up at the door, like soooo many others. I can understand a few up front spaces, but has anyone seen all the car birthing before your very eyes. What, do they get a new car every year or every three, unreal. What about all the other vehicle clout fame's of claim throughout the city, county and state, hell throw in the TMA's. Yes TMA's that are riding around in the SUV's, unbelievable. Big bucks can be saved on this one people. Maybe the 800 number will come in handy after all, at least for the city, then again these are clouts so fugetbout it.

Ethics and Peter Karl? How about that retired fat f$ck Di$k K. Glad to see that boozer off the media waves....years ago he approached me in a squad car (unmarked) wih M plates parked outside city hall where the media are allowed to park. I was waiting for my partner to drop off some papers from our cmdr. He actually pounds on the driver window and demands that I move the car, I tell him its police busines and to get lost or call a beat car to ticket me....next think I know he whips out pen and paper and starts writing the plate number down...I tell him to chew a piece of gum or rinse his mouth out before he beefs to his boss 'cause he reeks of his liquid lunch...he turned beet red and walked away.

Get off LSD at 18th St. There will be a ton of recruits, TMA's and PO's directing you to FREE parking. There are programmable signs along the route likewise directing one to the area.

Hope to see all [available] Brothers and Sisters MONDAY, 18 Sept. 1930 hours.
