You gotta wonder why only 4 were locked up when 9 were stripped.
Maybe 5 have agreed to testify? Cause I'm guesing that if even one testifies against them, this case is over and they spend the next 30 in the IDOC!
I'm betting the State asks for no bond, or at least a ridiculous amount like $5 or even $10 million.
What a day to do this too...they retire P.O. Solorio's star in front, while they are locking up coppers on the 5th floor.
what ever happened with keeping your mouth shut people. all of you should listen to yourselves and the crazy stuff you say. We need to all not pass judgement and start to support each other better. and that means off duty also. Remember that things can go full circle.

Four police officers arrested TODAY!!! The supervising Lt. re-assigned? Looks like it will stop at the Sgt. level. How much time do you think it will take for one these guys to start talking?
I heard last night that 4 were stripped. I'm assuming that these 4 today are the same one's. Oh yea SCC, Channel 7 showed the names of the officers. Based on the charges, there are NO charges of THEFT, only Armed Violence, Kidnapping, Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Maybe more are to follow.
I feel bad for their families because it will just about bankrupt all of them for the legal defense.
All you young coppers out there I hope you really look hard at this not only are these guys looking to go to jail for at least 30 years but their families now have to go on and survive probably losing their homes and any savings they had for what a couple grand.
Be careful and slap the next copper you see doing something this stupid.

I HUGE hats off to bt 1813 midnights for ignoring a fellow brethen in need after said brethen was nearly jumped and robbed and after said brethen grabbed one offender for burglary to auto. Not only did these dogs push off the paper and not show an once of compassion for a fellow brother, but they questioned the motives of a guy just trying to walk home when 4 animals approached tried to take his wallet and nearly jumped him.
Sometimes there comes a time when I am so sickened by the lack of comraderie and the lack of loyalty.
Thanks to beat 1812 for having the balls to pick up the pieces and at least help the officer get a ride home.

I know many are thinking they have whats coming to them, however, stop and look what they are being charged with: Burglary / Home Invasion, Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed violence...If any of you REAL police EVER stopped someone and put them in your car-YOU TOO could be charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, and Armed Violence. Ever get a consent to search,then get a beef saying you forced them to sign it because you recovered illegal drugs in the house? Then you too could get charged with burglary / Home Invasion. Be careful of who you throw stones at (that is unless you live in a glass house). I am NOT condoning theft, but let's look at the big picture here.

maybe they will get the same judges that have let so many people go on similar charges. if the judges were as hard on the true criminals as i know they will be on these guys because they are in the spotlight, the moral may not be so low in the department. if this was someone in cabrini green, there would be protests out there saying they are innocent, where is the innocent until proven guilty for these guys. also shame on the investigators who let it go for so long, one felony would be good enough to get them fired. how irresponsible to let them continue to do something wrong if they truly believed it. they should be charged as accomplices then.

It is a sad day for the Chicago Police Department and the Special Operations Section. I know all of these officers, some I like some I dislike, but they were all the working police at one time. My prayers go out to all of the families of these officers, as well as the officers themselves. We can all ask for justice, if they're charged, and mercy if they are found guilty. The only person we know for sure made it to heaven is St. Dismis, the "Good Thief", and that was because he asked for forgiveness. Carl, yours hurt me personally because of he way you befriended my son, and how much he respected you, you are in my prayers. Jerry, I have know you for many, many years. Word is... and yes if was from a friend of a friend...but going to post it anyhow... In regard to the prostitution investigation, that one female formerly assigned there is currently cooperating. Word is she got her move out of there towards the end of the investigation and was nicely rewarded for wearing an under"wire" bra which recorded very incriminating conversations of her coworkers. Maybe explains why one letter of intent of immunity was already issued? Sounds like she really was an undercover FBI angel! A few friends I know in OCD have conveyed a certain female's name that was recently rewarded and moved. So this maybe be very accurate information.

U gotta' love the guy who blames the investigators for letting this thing escalate! He says they should be tried as accomplices? Sometimes the investigator makes the recommendation, and the case gets buried by clout. The only constant in this is CLOUT never gets called on the carpet. This multitude of CR numbers over the years have to go thru a chain of command including the accused's own C/O and the 1st Dep. and SUPERINTENDENT. If you have 3 CR's in a year, you go on a list of candidates for Personnel Concern. Who makes the decision if bad boy or girl gets put on that list? THE C/O once again!!!! Or the admin. at IA or OPS. So, where do we point the finger in the blame game? One self, one's partner, one's boss? I think you should all put that finger it in your ass, sleep on it and smell it in the morning. 10 times outta' 10 it'll smell like shit, but 9 outta' 10 will swear it smells like a rose!

Peer pressure? what, are we in grammar school? We took an oath and are expected to carry through with that oath no matter what. I have never had a problem pointing out someones wrongdoing for the simple fact that i have to sleep at night. we are sworn to protect others from criminals not become them. This is sad day as 4 of our own have been arrested. First let us afford them the same right of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. Second, keep their families in mind at this time of personal crisis and grief. I hope that they will be allowed to bond out and be afforded time to prepare for their trials. That said if they are in fact guilty, then justice needs to be done. Plain and simple. All to often we we are quick to drag their names through the dirt without looking in the mirror first. Remember none of us who really works the street is 100% legit all the time. There are alot of gray areas in police work that are not taught in the academy. Remember that before you start throwing stones. I'm not advicating the behavior that has ALLEDGED to have occurred, but wishing we all just show some support for our fellow officers, until proven otherwise. It's gonna be tough all around the dept. now. Especially since the media is all over this case, as are all the attornies. In my experience this to shall pass. I'm tired of hearing SOS, Tact & Gang teams, etc; refered to as "elite units." Any clown with clout can get into one of these units. They can get in with no knowledge of basic police procedure, tactical skills, ethics, or anything else positive regarding the police profession. Only a phone call is needed in CPD. I once heard that clown Mauer refer to Tru as an elite unit before he retired, comparing them to the 101st Airborne Div. I wanted to puke!!! Does he have any idea what the 101st did on D-Day and since then in other wars and conflicts?? Did that loud mouth ever serve in the U.S. military? He and the media have no idea of what an elite unit is. Now, if you want to talk about the hero elite units (101st Airborn, Marines, SEALS, Rangers and so on) serving our country, those are elite units. Soldiers and Marines our dying for our country every day, and brave police officers are dying in this country on an average of one every other day. And yet, 4 corrupt CPD officers have contributed to the already bad image of CPD seen across the U.S. by getting arrested today! SOS is not elite at all, they are a disgrace. Turn on the news and see the real elite warriors fighting and dying to keep this country free and safe. May all of the honest & ethical police officers in CPD stay safe and healthy, and may the corrupt be taken down and removed from this department.

Now I know who is spreading all those awful untrue rumors about those Prostitution officers. It was a married copper who a couple of months got caught trying to pick up one of those "Drunken Female Hoe Police Officers."
He obviously wasn't a very good cop because he thought that the P.O. was really a HOE. I heard the only way he stayed out of jail was crying and whining about how he was going to lose his job and how he could never look at his wife and kids in the eyes again if he got arrested.
Happy ending, though, he wasn't arrested and now likes to spread juicy rumors on this blog. I wonder what unit will catch him doing something illegal next? Beware it could be yours....

On the contrary. C.S. has NO self esteem, is a follower and has had a really hard life. I feel very badly for the poor decisions he allegedly made. I use the word "allegedly" though I know in my heart he did wrong. I am a little older than C.S., but still hung around with him growing up. He was always such a nice kid, always seeking the approval of others. It's hard to learn that he has "allegedly" done such horrible things. I really am sad to see him ruin his life. All you guys talk about clout. Well here is something you may not know and it has been going on since before we got the so called union contract. FOP, depending on who you talk to, gets between fifteen and twenty spots a year. They can recomend people to go to the units of their choice. So your own union has been selling you out through the back door.
Now, one the those SOS guys mom has been a long time FOP employee. How do you think he got to SOS?
Maybe that is why the so called union has always been so dead set against bidding to all, and I mean all, specialized units.

Now hold on there. We do not give money and go to benefits because of our personal opinions regarding the individuals. We do it for two reasons:
1.) They need our help and their families should bear as little of the financial burden of their mistakes as possible. It is the right thing to do. I hate what these guys did, and IF, and only IF they are found guilty, criminally and/or administravely, I hope they get the max. But I will give money to help them
2.) The second, and most important reason to give, Officer FUCK THEM TOO!, is it could be you or me. How would you like to be in their shoes and facing the loss of everything? How would you like to have your family lose the house, cars, and verything else? We give because anyone of us could be put in a situation where we wind up on the wrong side, whether the accusations are true or false. BTW, beating a case costs just as much as losing. Their legal fees are going to be astrnomical and we owe it to each other to pitch in.
Everyone hated Majenowski, even his own coworkers. Here is something you may not know. When his troubles started and very early on it looked as if he was going down and lose everything some anonymous donor came forward and paid for his kid's high school tuition.

Don't be quick to judge these guys. If you enter a house without a warrant while your partners detain the mope against his will you have committed armed violence, kidnaping, and home invasion if someone was in the house. If the mope beefs on you and says you took 20k he saved since he was 10 now you committed burglary. I am sure they did some thing very wrong but read between the lines. Another problem is that I sift thru dozens of rap sheets every night 10 to 20 pages with everything from murder to criminal sexual assault but they get a bond, bet the house these guys don't and it is their first arrest. just something to think about. Rumor is IAD turned case over to the feds who said "no thanks". Maybe the case against these guys just is not that strong.

I've been in two "units," each time being brought in by a sgt. that I had worked for else where. I do the job asked of me, I do it well enough to keep the boss happy and I keep my mouth shut.
On this board a lot of people claim that all of the clout babies aren't worth crap as the police. If that is true then how is all of the GOOD police work getting done?
This is the reason that anyone that works, and most importtantly keeps his trap shut and not worry about what the other guy is up to, can find a GOOD spot in the dept.

Fuck You! I, like many, have never stolen a penny from the dope man or any other citizen. These guys are not being charged because they were caught doing "grey area" police work. Find out what is alleged and make a FAIR estimate of the probability of it being true. In the case of Criminal actions, "We're All Blue" doesn't hold. Not for me anyway. Certainly take into strong consideration their on the job performance in making your judgement.Consider all factors.
As far as their families are concerned, it is the job of EACH OF US to look out for our own families.
That means "DO THE RIGHT THING!"
If you don't know what the right thing is in ANY situation, you don't belong here. While I sympathize with any family that has a RAT for a relative, especially if he is a P.O., it is NOT our responsibility to carry them.
And don't think that every family of a crooked cop that gets caught is blindsided by the news.

Seeing the comments about the overall impression of the members of SOS reminded me of why the majority of Tact/unit guys are new guys. They listen when told to do silly shit. After several years on Tact I started asking why or saying Im not doing that. So where is the supervisory accountability with the SOS ALLEGATIONS.
Also, our friends at the States Attorney's office put us in the position for beefs. Try getting a warrant, they say go to his house and get him. Demand we get statements. We came up with Investigative Alerts to let everyone know when there was probable cause to arrest, which is great. When the alert says NO probable cause, don't try to be cute and get in trouble.
It’s sad that this happened to these officers, but on the flip side, it makes the rest of us look like shit—thanks. I really hope that other officers in this special “elite” unit take a long look in the mirror and check their bad ass, arrogant, self centered, attitudes at the door when they come into the districts as result of these arrests.
The bravado exhibited by SOME of the officers in units like these are pathetic. I really don’t know why they must feel to look down at us lowly patrolmen—ohh that’s right, you’re a patrolman too. We all pushed a beat car at one time in our careers and because many of us do not have a phone call or china man doesn’t mean we are not hard working officers.
A while back, I was asked to go to SOS and I turned them down due to family issues. It could have been me in cuffs.
Bond was set $3.8mill JF, around $2mill for the other two and $1.5mill for CS.
I feel bad for the families.
Leave CS’s mother out of it! She is a wonderful person and any Officer that has come in contact with her has always, yes always been treated with respect. She always goes out of her way to help an officer when needed. Keep the families out of this mess. CS’s mom is a great lady. Doesn’t she have enough heart ache right now without you jerks bringing her into the mix? JEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
These aren't going to be the only one's going down in SOS.

The FEDS should have taken the case, MAYBE clout and biases could have been neutralized.

In 20 years on this job I've done plenty of fucking up.Yep,on duty and off.And I caught plenty of unpaid vacations,most of which I deserved.BUT....I've always managed to draw the line on felonies.You know,the shit people go to prison for.In every place I've worked, there were"rumors"about guys.Money guys,dope guys,security for dope/whore/gambling house guys,peel job artists,ring the bell...ding,ding!Some of these geniuses are still on the job,some were promoted,and quite a few are still in prison.Me,I like to sleep at night.And when it comes to thinking about going to the joint....FUCK THAT.Use your skulls for something besides squadcar sex,boys and girls.

Some years back, there was a cop just like you. Hated all of his fellow cops, thought he was better than his fellow cops, and would not give a red cent to help his fellow cops.
The he gets jammed up over a total BS domestic violence beef. Bail was set high, the lawywers fees were murderous. He was stuck in the County for a few weeks. He was writing letters begging his fellow cops to have some kind of benefit to help him out. They all laughed at him. His letters were posted on the bulletin board with cruel remarks about what a JO he was.
He beat the charges, beat getting fired. People still laugh at him. It cost him everything he had over a BS beef.
There is a lesson here, if your head is not to dense to pick it up;
It could happen to you, or me, or anyone of us.
You better hope that before it happens to you, you can find a phone booth somewhere to hold your party in.

Agreed. The feds won't do anything unless it is wrapped up tight with a big bow. The feds aren't the police, they are CPA's and attorney's allowed to carry guns and go by the title "special agent" or "agent"....they are too scared to make any type of arrest and don't do anything unless it's OK with an AUSA on board. They are worthless and usually don't share information, but certainly want you to give info to them. They should have taken this case, shame on them.

BLACK EYE FOR CPD? well maybe but seen this type of scandals over and over each year or couple of years apart.
My question is why did this take over two years. This was not a federal investigation, it was apparently done by IAD. Now we all know that they don't employ the sharpest tacks in the drawer. In fact I have heard some singing praises to them for their stupidity.
This isn't the first scandal and it won't be the last that many of you young guys see in your careers.
Don't beleive this "black eye" shit or being embarresed crap. Worry about how you do your job not how someone else handles him or her self.
There is plenty of criminal stupidity among the upper ranks. This means from some of the newly promoted Sgts. Lts. Capt. up to 35th St.
If there was a real investigation a high percentage would be indicted or at least fired for neglegence, official misconduct etc. Yes, official misconduct on the "bosses" who promote assholes and incompitant goofs and the nitwit goofs for accepting promotions when they know they are goofs.
