Two More Stripped?
According to the comments sections, 2 more coppers were stripped of their powers over at SOS. Again, names will not be published or permitted to be published pending possible indictments, and even then, we'll probably just link to the articles and let everyone else dig up their own info.
Innocent until proven guilty, but we are unhappy about this.
We've heard the total is up to 8 combined PO's, a Sergeant and a Detective. Someone else claims 10, but we've only heard of 8. Some people claim it's going to get bigger, others say it's finished. Regardless of the totals, this could be a huge stain on the Unit and the Department as a whole. Anyone who thinks that the Department and City Administration hasn't at least thought about disbanding SOS has rocks for brains. They're going to want to look like they're doing something and this, unfortunately, is one of the options. If it's just a rogue team, then maybe they'll weather the storm. If it's endemic, then who knows what they'll do. It could end up like 015 where they swept all the bosses out with a broom and everyone with any sort of time on the job bailed out as soon as possible just to get away from the stench.
And we still haven't heard the last of the 007 District crap, the 015 incident involving SOS and whatever else is brewing at Homan Square. We might be under Federal oversight in the next few years. It's getting ugly.

Did anyone else get a letter from Nationwide saying one of there laptops was stolen with all our personal info on it? WTF!
For the record its 9 including a Sgt and Det. Word is there are 3 more people, 2 former and 1 current. It sucks but what are you gonna do. All we can do is hope for the best and wait. That is all.
This stuff is going to play out the way the city and SAs office wants it to. When the stuff hits the fan, they all can say they were on top of it from the start and did everything they could, and oh, by the way, we caught them all, got a few to rat on each other, and ounished the supervisors for failing to supervise.
The real damage here, is all of the BS, rumors, and speculation running amok. Too many people giving up too much info or lies. Guess what? Inspectors and IAD will be watching everything very closely for awhile.

regarding Nationwide, I was alarmed to see about their laptop being stolen with all of the info on it. I say it on the FOP website. According to Nationwide, they say the probability of our info being misused is slim. They would not feel like that if it was their personal info out there. Maybe someone will publish all of our info so people can see how broke we all are trying to make a living with 3 and 3 side jobs. The only people feeling the crunch of the economy is the hard worker. The people on public aid don't even see the difference. Milk could go up to 10 dollars a gallon and they would not care cuz the government would give them more. Gas prices go up? So what for them, they don't have to go to work. They will just cruise around the neighborhood less.

I received that Nationwide letter yesterday...talked to my computer friend and she said not to worry. I'm a little worried though!
I am a former member of the Organized Crime Division and specifically was perviously assigned to the prostitution section. I am still a department member but now assigned to a different unit. I was served a Federal Grand Jury Subpoena yesterday by Federal agents. In addition to the subpoena I was also given Federal Court Documents granting Immunity Against Prosecution.
From what I can tell and based I what I know, this was done for one of several reasons. One being that with the Immunity Against Prosecution waiver, based on what my attorney told me this morning, I cannot take the Fifth Amendment to questioning. If I did take the Fifth I would be subject to immediate arrest for Contempt of Court.
I believe the second reason I was served (I do not know if any others or how many others were also served) is that the Feds probably want me to make phone calls to invoke conversation via electronic means to aid their investigation.
I am scheduled to go to the Federal Grand Jury next week. Although I am at liberty to convey that I was served to go, Federal Law will not allow me to share any of the contents discussed at the Grand Jury.
But the reason I am writing this is to share with others there is an ongoing investigation and (NOT THAT I OR ANYBODY I KNOW VIOLATED ANY LAWS WHILE AT PROSTITUTION) that all that are assigned there or who has been previously assigned there should use great discretion if they are going to discuss anything via their landline or cell phones.
Coppers can be their worse enemies. But I would hope that those who maybe a target of this investigation use some street smarts and use discretion in any conversations.

A former Chicago police commander who pleaded guilty to stealing $4,000 earmarked for a ceremony to honor heroic officers and then lying about it to the FBI was sentenced to prison today.
Michael Acosta was ordered to serve five months behind bars and five months of home confinement and to pay a $5,000 fine. He was facing up to 14 months in prison. He was told to report for transfer to prison Nov. 7.
They say three were stripped, not two. FYI. By the way, you do a good job with the blog-scc!

The only people who get into shit on this job are the workers because there is more of an oppertunity to get into trouble. There is much more to all of this SOS, Special Operations Section, scandal than meets the eye or that is circulating in rumors. If they go the "full route" with this investigation there will be links to everything from theft, battery, robbery, extortion, drug dealing-including steroids, tax evasion, perjury, murder, torture, gambling, drug useage, civil rights violations, leaking of information and for hire schemes. This is disgusting and absolutely heartbreaking to the good and honest officers in the Chicago Police Department. There is enough to go either way and just because the Cook County States Attorney's Office is handling and charging right now does not mean that the US Attorney's Office will not now or at a latter time charge those involved with civil rights violations.
Greed has always been the number factor in corrupting officers/public officials.
This new generation of officers thinks nothing of the "blue wall/thin blue line". It is one thing to go rogue but quite another to target other officers and their families and then to point the finger at your fellow rogue officers when the heat turns up and you get caught.
If you are a rogue officer and get caught take your hit like a man. If you are a rogue officer fucking over legit officers and their families you have broken all the rules, do the only thing you can do, eat your duty weapon.
The other day while checking out at local supermarket I observed this goof walkup to the checkout with is 21yr. oldish babyface, shiny clarino shoes, navy blue trousers, baby blue shirt which was partially concealed by a CPD dress shirt, adorned with CPD logos, handcuffs, squad cars, etc. and worn as an outer garment. The kid literally looked like a highschool kid on Halloween. Obviously his whole uniform was brand new and he didn't have a minute on the job. He also was very cocky in demeanor. It was around suppertime, 6pm or so. He sets his six pack of beer down on the belt and when asked by the checker for ID goes beserk. Pulling back his CPD over garment shirt to show off the badge and state, "can't you see I'm the Police?" I felt like kicking his ass right there but just thought Thank G~d I will be done with this job in months not years.
On good word, they have almost every SOS supervisor dirty, if they want them for theft and robbery, some better than others. Be advised, Sgt WW is talking as well as BR and CS. Be careful out there. Did some of these SOS guys hit, plant and steal from a far NWside house that was much more than anything they could ever imagine?????

Very Interesting, how this will be the week they announce indictments. You have Jesse Jackson Jr. announcing a run for Mayor, Ex-governor George Ryan getting sentenced, the terrorism exercise evacuation of downtown and the 5yr. anniversary of 9/11 coming up. That will definitely lower the profile of this story and keep it from being a lead front page deal for more than a day or so. The administration is smart on that one.

It might be interesting to interview Labiak,Hutchinson and Carriager the SOS officers who were convicted of robbing and home invading drug dealers several years back from prison. Good news story on SOS, they knew alot of the current and past members and the bosses at SOS and have nothing to lose now.
Has Commander Michael Acosta been sentenced yet? If not I owuld bet he is cooperating with the Federal officials and could literally be a goldmine of information on corruption on the CPD and within Cityhall.
It might also be very interesting to interview all of the players in the Marquette Ten. Most of the officers involved have passed on after this terrible injustice at the hands of Phil Cline. Phil refused to testify and claimed he was just playing a dirty cop. Where there is smoke there is fire. I would love to see the dope boys tell the truth to exonerate the unjustly convicted officers and to prove the criminal that Phil Cline is.

I there there are alot of officers waiting on their Chicago Fire Department entrance exam results so that they can crossover to the Light. CFD Captain Ezra McCann, the infamous African American fireman who filmed the Engine 100 wild and raucous firehouse party and released it to the media in a bid to get promoted has reportedly tested positive in a random drug screen. He initially attempted to avoid taking the test, then took it and began complaining of chest pains prompting medical attention. Reports have it that he subsequently retired knowing that his urine would show illicit narcotics in his system. I don't think we will be seeing anymore of the infamous firehouse party tape. Why isn't the above story newsworthy in this politically correct society?

If they go the "full route" with this investigation there will be links to everything from theft, battery, robbery, extortion, drug dealing-including steroids, tax evasion, perjury, murder, torture, gambling, drug useage, civil rights violations, leaking of information and for hire schemes. This is disgusting and absolutely heartbreaking to the good and honest officers in the Chicago Police Department. There is enough to go either way and just because the Cook County States Attorney's Office is handling and charging right now does not mean that the US Attorney's Office will not now or at a latter time charge those involved with civil rights violations.

The other two names you mentioned in your post are stripped, and may be cooperating, I cant speak for them. They did work in the unit at the times of the supposed allegations, Sgt WW did not and is not stripped now. When this is over we will all see the truth. I have only heard good things about Sgt. I am married to a supervisor in SOS. He is one of the best policemen you will ever meet. There are many hard working men and women with him in SOS out there trying their best. They are now working under this cloud and need our support, not criticism.
I have been on this job alomst thirty years. Not one year has gone by, through all of the Superintendents names I lost rack of, there has been scandals. Who is too blame; THE COPS WHO CAUSED THEM.
The City, the department, no one else presided over corruption. It was the guys whole did it and the ones they that got involved with them indirectly.
To blame Cline and call him a criminal is moronic. You guys really do not know how good you have it right now. You can work or not work and no one cares, you can basically do what you want for eight hours, and no one cares.

The fact that some of you people feel compelled to post before the facts are all in is disgusting. We all have seen people stripped returned to duty.
