Whoever keeps trying to post the comments about SOS being implicated in a bunch of homicides down in New Orleans, stop. Yes, we post rumors by the dozens around here, but this one defies any sort of rationale or logic or basis in reality.

Here's a good rumor that's been going around the 14th district a couple months.
There is a certain female that works 3rd watch and likes to date the gangbangers.... this is a known fact cuz many have seen her with the company she keeps outside of work. But the rumor is she recently gave up information to the bangers and warned them that one of their home's was scheduled to be hit with a search warrant. Searh warrant was done and, of course, nothing was found.
Word is downtown knows about this but have squashed it cuz her mother works at headquarters for IAD. Also, there have been a couple of bangers who have been arrested that concur with the story when they try to bargain their way out of an arrest.
She is now in hiding on the medical.
I understand SOS was also responsible for 9/11, dynamiting the leves, and the downing of the Hindenburg.
That x SOS guy (he's a Dick now)(BR) that someone keeps badmouthing did go to N.Orleans. He went as a private employee, part of private guard force that was hired to protect a company's assets(all cops/feds). They were paid a G-note a day; who wouldnt have put in time due for that? As far as him being a "rat", we'll see!! SOS killing people in N.O.? A good friend of mine was there w/NIPUS and he would have told about that, he had nothing but good things to say about CPD's SOS.Yea ,a group of armed bangers were killed on a bridge, and the credit was givin to NOPD.Want to know more about that one, I'd call the ARMY'S Special Ops command(remember DF doesnt exist)......

I have said this before. If you want to keep the FOP and change it, there is only one way to do it. Hundreds of cops just have to STOP PAYING DUES. The city will not allow the FOP to fire that many cops.
I hate FOP. But, if they get a bery strong message, maybe they will be less useless than they are now.
The rumors on this blog give rumor a bad name. Seriously, the only people who know what is going on are those involved, and if they are smart, they are not talking.
The SOS thing will play out how ever it does. The Prostitution thing is pure rumor. There would be something out by now if it was true, as the investigation, if there ever was one has been blown.
There are too many angry wannabe cops posting things they know nothing about. They hate the bosses, they hate their fellow cops, they even hate themselves, yet if a boss is around, they are fawning over him like a smitten teen age girl around a rock star.
They talk about morale, yet from what I see, morale is better now than it was when I came on almost thirty years ago. They complain about the dogs on the job, yet from what I see, the cops who came on after 1990 are the biggest dogs in the world. If they do not get what they think they deserve for existing on this earth, they do nothing except whine and cry.
This job is going down hill fast. It is the fault of the patrolmen, not the bosses. Keep it up. It will only get worse.
I have worked for some of the best and worst bosses on this job. I survived. Most of us did. This is a job. You do what you are supposed to do and get along to get by. If you fight, whine, cry, piss, and moan, you will get what you deserve- absolutely nothing.
No one drafted you. No one came to your house in the middle of the night, stuck a gun in your mouth, and forced you to join the Department. You volunteered for this.
The problem is not morale. It is pride. There is none left. No one is proud to be a cop anymore. No one is proud of the long legacy and history we have. No one cares. It is all just gimme, gimme, gimme. Look at the T. Jude Parade. It is a travesty. Ten times the number of you morons, cretins, and intellectual idiots should be marching there. But no. You have better things to do, like read the NYT at Starbucks, or sleep, or brag to your other about what a great cop you are.

3rd Watch 1190 (Lt. A) has officially declared the 11th District a "No Laughing Zone."
Due to a slight increase in morale within the 11th District, a direct order to cease all audible laughter eminating from hallway, front desk, and secretary's office has been given by Bt 1190.
To aid the enforcement of said order, 3151 W Harrison has been labeled a Level II D.O.C. and any employee, sergeant or below, found to be congregating within the station and emitting sounds associated with humor shall be dispersed immediately and an event # shall be obtained via OEMC.
If in the event a blue shirted employee laughs at 1190 for making such dispersal, a physical arrest is authorized per 1190.
When asked about the newly implemented intiative at a weekly management meeting downtown Lt. A stated "It seems as though everywhere I look, someone is smiling or laughing in the workplace, and when I ask what is so funny, no one wants to tell me. So now its real simple, YOU LAUGH ON YOUR OWN TIME, OR ITS A BALOGNA SANDWICH."
FOP was notified about these dispersals, however, additional laughter could be heard over the phone.
Hey 11:22:23 I have also worked in places on this job where P.O.'s were suspected of aiding the other side. My question is, if people knew what she was doing or suspected her of suppplying information to the gang bangers, who told her, and/or how did she find out about the warrant? Somebody should have been more careful. You may also have more than one P.O. in cahoots with the gang members.

Man drowns after stealing boat

A 25-year-old Berwyn man has drowned after he and several friends stole a lifeguard boat and took it out onto Lake Michigan, police said.
Javier Leal and four friends went to the Ohio Street beach early Monday and broke a lock that was securing the boat, officials said. The group floated out into the lake in the boat and then decided to wade back to shore.
The boat is intended for one passenger, said police spokeswoman JoAnn Taylor.
Leal's body was pulled from the lake Monday afternoon after a lengthy search.
I'm sorry, the death of a human being is not supposed to be funny, but you have to admit......does STUPID come to mind on this one ??? Let's see, what will the lawsuit say? Lifeguard failed to secure boat properly, thereby allowing my STUPID son from taking it out on the lake and drowning like a DUMB ASS....
Holycow - As previously stated in an earlier post - All the filing cabinets in A/5 were moved to the hallway. Employees were told to empty them out and take home any files they felt were important.
When one of the sgt's ( A favored Homicide Sgt.)gave his unsolicted opinion, he became the target of a verbal barrage from the Commander.
It turned physical and as they were rolling on the floor, the Sgt gave the commander a tug on the ear. Low and behold a masked came off and revealed ....Felix Unger - Zoinks Scooby - What's next- declaring Tuesday Pink Tie Day.

If you really want to be nosy, anyone can look up any other officer's info if you know their star# or by district. ie. court notifications, overtime, awards...etc.

Really? Let's see, before we had a union contract we had free medical and dental insurance, at any doctor or hospital we chose, nothing but the best.
Now we pay a percentage of our salary because John, the jag off, Dineen sold us out.
When other major cities, like NY and LA were getting major raises, we have only averaged 3 to 4% a year for the past twenty four years.
How come you cannot bid to specialized units, like narcotics, intelligence, etc. I will tell you why, cause Dineen, Nolan, and Donahugh told me- at your fucking meetings- that is the way the city wants it and you should know someone to get into a unit.
I was a unit rep. My commander was violating every state and federal labor law on the books, including harassing me for union activities. What did FOP do? "Oh, the commander is a friend of a powerful state rep, so you are out of luck. We will not help you. Some union you belong to.
Shall I go on? Where have they been all summer? The incidents in 018 should have brought them out. Silence. The guy in California went on national TV to support his Union memebers. Where was your precious FOP?
How come, if residency is a city ordinance, is it in our contract? Wanna know why? FOP wants it that way. FOP andthe city want you to live here. If a court ever overturned the law, the contract will still be enforceable. And it would stay in the contract forever.
I been here almost thirty years my self. I hate FOP. They sold us out from day one and still sell us out.

i worked for Lt "A" from 11 when he was in 004. i hate to say this about any other copper. but i hate this man more than any other person to walk the earth. he is a terrible leader no leadership abilities who tries and wave his college degree and his management skills off by talking like hes a thesaurus. He tries to fix things that arent broken and has spent his career fucking up. i can honestly say i cannot wait until we are both retired and i can meet him in a bar. he is arrogant, thinks hes a ladies man, and belives he is the smartest cop to walk the earth. We hear that due to Queen Dean's flare for cleanliness and décor, Area Five will be featured in next months issue of "Beautiful Home and Garden". The removal of the file cabinets has really opened up the room and created the dramatic design Dean was hoping for and next will be flowers, curtains and a fresh coat of paint; we hear the color will be autumn rain with a rainbow backdrop. (Dean really loves rainbows)
Dean will not be featured in any detective publications on what a great job he is doing but when his reign as Supreme commander of Area 5 is over, we hear that Queer eye for the straight guy has room for Queen Dean.
