The Pain of Moderated Comments

Oh the troubles we see.

We see every comment that comes in here before we publish it. We scan it all, looking for particularly vile crap, before we publish the ones that deserve publishing. So far (we've been keeping an informal tally) where we used to have to delete 50-60% of the unmoderated stuff, we now end up only deleting about 10% of it. But what a 10% it is.

Some of it is complete articles that we've said won't be published because it violates various copyright laws and it's just too damn huge. Some of it names names, which we said we weren't going to allow. Some of it is the typical inanity that certain people must think is going to get published if we let down our guard. And some of it is some particularly vile crap that we would be rightly castigated for if it ever hit the blog.

Let's just say this: whoever is accusing members of this Department of orchestrating the murders of fellow police officers is a complete waste of protoplasm. You are scum. You are lower than ... geez ... we can't even think of what you are lower than because we wouldn't want to insult shark shit. You need help ... severe help. Involuntary commitment would be a good first step. We are amazed you made it through the various screening processes that are supposed to filter out your type and we are scared that you might actually be carrying a loaded weapon.

God help you if we ever find out who you are and where you're posting from, because that will be the time we make the exception to publishing names. You are not a cop. You're a psycho with a badge. Go away.

At least you are only inflicting your insanity on us. We're immune to most forms of it. But you're still an ass.

Thank you for monitoring this blog, it was really sinking fast. Now instead of all of us being subjected to the hateful rantings of a sick few, YOU have the honor! How come no comment on the laptop containing pension info being taken? I think that's pretty important!

I read yesterday that interim Cook County Board President Bobbi Steele is considering retiring..It appears if she retires now her pension will be based on the Salary of the Board President ($170,000) as opposed to her aldermanic salary of ($80,000).

WOW..unf'ingbelievable!

How can I trade up my CPD pension?

Any thoughts?

Screw all the politicians!

to many people read too many fiction books and see too many movies and think it is all real. They live in a wonder fantasy world.

The only probelm is some one gave them a badge and a gun and told them they are a police officer. Then, they actually believed they were police officers. Then they believed they were police officers who are the characters in the books and movies they read and watch.

SO, in sum, SCC, the city has been hiring some sick puppies over the past sya, fifteen years.

PPO from 010 was DUI'd in Waukegan last Friday nite. There was also some type of altercation afterwards details not clear. PPO also charged with Unlawful Restraint and his girlfriend with a couple felonies for taking the PO's gun and cracking one of the combatants. He was immediately stripped that nite and will soon be terminated. For all you cowboy PPO's take note--You are not the police yet!

Anybody know what former Gov. Ryan received today? Just curious...

George Ryan, age 72, was sentenced to 78 months or 6 1/2 years, probably at the federal facility at Oxford, Wisconsin.

However, Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer will probably allow his freedom on bail pending Atty. Dan Webb's certain appeal to the Seventh Circuit.

He will not be going to Stockholm to accept the Nobel Prize for clearing out Death Row.

I know that a P.P.O. was given a D.U.I. by a female cop in Harwood Heights. The P.P.O. only had 9 days left of probation and was fired. We should show our appreciation and extend our courtesy.

It appears now two officers are known to have been served federal grand jury subpoenas in regards to the alleged prostitution scandal in OCD.

I know both officers. One was given a grant of immunity and one wasn't. Feds like to do that to make it look like certain persons are talking and cooperating.

One thing is for sure. If the fed is sending out subpoenas, the investigation is basically done and charges will be coming. All they are doing now is fishing in the sea for comformation information, via tapped phone lines, squad cars or offices, to put the icing on the cake.

The one who was given immunity assured me that she has not cooperated or even been offically interviewed by the feds as of this date/time.

Gove. Ryan was ordered to turn himself in to the US Marshal on Jan. 4, 07 to begin his sentence.
That is the normal procedure in Federal cases. Being freed for the appeal is virtually unheard of and isn't going to happen in such a high profile case.

She showed me bothe the subpoena and the grant of immunity. The immunity is a grant of limited immunity, only applying to any illegal actions that occurred while and during the course of her employment as a police officer while assigned to prostitution.
If she does know of any wrong doings she is screwed. Even if she is immuned from charges, her testimony can still be used by the department to fire her. And if she tries to protect her fellow co-workers by deception, then she can be charged by the federal authority for that. Sounds like she is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Do you know the full story? No I didnt think so but I do. Was a male officer that pulled him over (after a few blocks of not pulling to the right)but it was a female that jumped on the air and told dispatch that they had a 501. Officer didnt want to DUI him but the PPO's actions made it much easier for the supervisor to order the officer to write him (Was in the station talking down the officers saying the Burbs are not the real police). Way to go PPO, oops I mean average joe. Thats why this department is falling fast, to many young bucks that think there shit dont stink, and no it alls. I will keep my mouth shut and let you be the real police and when you step on your dick dont come asking me to buy a ticket for your benifit, I told you so.

Today, September 7th, I get a letter from
NATIONAL RETIREMENT SOLUTIONS, dated August 28, 2006 informing me that a laptop containing my birthdate, social security number, personal address was reported stolen from an NRS Retirement Specialist's HOME.
What the hell are they bringing that home for?
Worse yet, the letter goes on to inform me this occured "Recently"
The incident was reported on April 25, 2005.
It took them 15 months to let me know this!!!
Anybody else get this letter?
This is F&#%@n insane.
Im calling the Union and Attorney Generals office to voice my complaint.
If you also received this letter, join me in the noise.
This is an outrage that my personal information goes home with anybody. Why is our information on a laptop hard disk?
It should be stored on the company mainframe hard drive under strict electronic encryption.
I smell lawsuit!!!
Help me people, is there another agency I can call to complain?
Our personal information needs to have better security safeguards.

Sounds like that female P/O is screwed no matter what her decision is. But I'm sure she knew that while her comrades were raiding houses and stuffing their pockets, courtesy of our huge immigrant latin population. You pay the piper one way or the other. Too bad she chose to work with those mutts. Too bad they included her in their own path of total destruction!

One can only hope that this whole ugly shebang serves as a warning to the youngsters looking to get into some of these units. If things aren't kosher, RUN away from these bums. I'd rather hold my head high while working a beat car than go through what those guys are experiencing, all for the "privilege" of working in a unit. And you know what? The worst of it hasn't even hit them yet. Their nightmare is just beginning.

I've asked for a copy of the police report and it has fallen on deaf ears....FOP need to F/U with this fast! This is the second time in 2 years that police officer's personal information has been compromised. The first was information that walked out of 35th St. by some ratty gang-bang "interns" that were given the duty to "shred" secured data. Strongly advise to keep an eye on your credit report and look for changes of addresses and any credit inquiries that you are not familiar with, and do f/u on this for more than 6 months. Theives will wait for years before they start playing with your identity especially if they have a laundry list of thousands of candidates to choose from.
I also smell a rat that it took them over a year to advise us of the theft. A class action could be feasible....but we need more information.

Today I called them and requested to stop my contribution and cut me a check for what I have put in.
I understand I will have to pay taxes and a penalty, thats fine.
They told me I need proof of a un-forceen financial hardship, otherwise, I cant have MY MONEY back. What kind of shit is that. Anybody know what I can do?
Class action sounds great. Where do we start. They cant be trusted with my personal information, how could I think my money is safe!

That program is the best thing that ever happened to the CPD. The financial nitwit that suggests opting out is a total fool. Some lost info out there, i guess so but does anything really think other companies, agencies, etc, have not alos from time to time lost track of info?
