George Ryan got six and a half years today. Coverage at Channel 2, Channel 5, Channel 7, Channel 32, Sun Times, and Tribune.
We are reasonably happy with this. Ryan is a sanctimonious asshole who figured pandering to the international anti death penalty crowds would trump outright disgust with his presiding over one of the most corrupt regimes in Illinois history. And that's saying a lot in a state that contains the City of Chicago and the County of Cook.
Now if we could just see the same thing happen upstate.

Did people forget Bill Nolan served on George Ryan's transition committee. Donahue served under Nolan. The FOP is supposed to endorse Blago. What happened here?
Yea, its good that Ryan went down; Ive always voted Repub 90% of the time. I voted for Glenn Prousard when this prick was running; I smelled a rat on that one. More importantly, I was glad to see that weasle faced whore lawyer Webb be a further failure. He made a name for himself jamming the Marquette 10. Yea, he got 10 lowly patrolman that all stood tall, and didnt rat on anyone. And then this bucktoothed prick switches sides and becomes a high priced lawyer for high profile/paying thugs. Webb's switching sides is no different than an American Soldier going over to the Russians or the Chinese for perceived better benefits; or how about a cop quitting the PD and going to work for a big street gang!! U liberals starting to get the picture? I personally despise uz w/a passion, like I hate Webb and his family, and when I move out of Crook Cty, Im moving to get away from u as much as Im trying to get away from the ghetto thugs! Hopefully, this asshole will die while in prison and burn in hell for eternity. He deserves to.

Whats the difference between a whore and an attorney?
Nothing. They both do what they do for money. And an attorney might even be worse than a whore. At least a whore is constant. She does what she does. An attorney however will switch sides at the drop of a hat. All depends on who offers him what,how much and will it help further his career or put him in the spot light. Webb is a perfect example. One day he's putting people away as a prosecutor, the next he's defending them and portraying them as saints or victims of an unjust and racist system.
Next to looters and terrorists, lawyers are the lowest form of life that I can think of. I've met many (yes met) whores who I have a certain amount of respect for. I can't however think of ONE criminal defense attorney that is worthy of one ounce of respect
I shook my head when I heard that scumbag Ryan was surrounded by his children at the sentencing hearing. Too bad Mr. and Mrs. Willis will never be able to be surrounded by theirs. They and the other brave souls who came forward to blow the whistle on this sanctimonious and pompous prick are true heroes. I hope he rots in jail.

Ryan gets ONLY 6 1/2 years in "Club Fed" for all of the money stolen in favors & contracts throughout his LONG political career.
Plus it had to cost the G 150 million dollars to investigate and convict Ryan.

If Big George is as sick and destitute as Webb says he is, then all I can say is he is fortunate to be going to the federal prison system then, they have a hell of a medical facility in Springfield MO or an even better one in Rochester MN.

Are the people of this state any better off now that George Ryan has been sentenced ? Belive me , nothing will change with politics in this City, State, or County. There will only be more safeguards put into place to protect the heavy people we vote into office.
Dont beleive for a minute that Federal Judge Pallmeyer is'nt in the defence's corner, Ryan will be given bond while his appeal goes on and you wont be seeing him in the Federal Pen come January 2007.

What has gone pretty much un noticed is that Ryan has been ordered to testify as to the, until now, secret finding of his commission reviewing death penalty prisoners in Illinois.
He will be further tarnished when it is revealed that his own commission recommended that all but a very few sentences were just and correct. But he chose to ignore them and released murderers to live amomg us and to sue the shit out of the cities where they were convicted...Thanks George
