FOP Blasts OPS Selection Panel

  • The Fraternal Order of Police is accusing Mayor Daley of appointing two people "who have shown nothing but disrespect" for police officers to the committee that will choose the director of the Police Department's Office of Professional Standards.
  • "You've got the one gentleman [Grant] who's made a living off of suing the Police Department. And the other individual [Pfleger] who has shown nothing but disregard and disrespect toward our profession."
It's about time that this completely incompetent selection board was brought to light by someone other than this humble website and our readers. We're surprised the Sun Times even published it at all, being in the mayor's pocket and carrying water for him all these years. Not that it's going to have any effect on anything of course:
  • Mayoral press secretary Jacquelyn Heard said City Hall "anticipated" the FOP's criticism and Daley has every intention of expanding the selection committee.
Covering all the bases, that mayor of ours.

The FOP's opposition to this board only gives it a public stamp of approval. We aren't the most popular organization in the city right now. Be aware,be safe. We're all we have out here. Time to circle the wagons. Daley HAS to appease his voting block.

Ok Great...FOP blasts daley. But that does nothing. What will the punishment be? Words mean nothing.

What will the FOP do or have us do to counter this nonsense. Its all staged BS. FOP only blasts something/someone when they are told to by whom non other than daley.

Grant was arrested in the 5th district last year after he called the desk seargent a low class nigger and refused to leave. caused quite a scene. I still don't think he realizes a meeting with the feds and states attorneys office was just letting out and all the federal and cook county states attorneys witnessed the whole thing!!! I was at the meeting and he was completley out of control. Desk seargent showed great restaint.... Hope he sued Andre..guess thats the type of integrity our mayor is looking for. How about a couple of members of the HDO on board. I think Quarter Boyle has some free time on his hands, or maybe Acosta.....

I've had to go to Grant's office for a deposition before.

He has all these framed articles and clippings on the walls about the Harris case like he had so much to do with it and he is some sort of messiah.

The best part is the Corp Counsel I was dealing with worked the case too and said he was a lackey who basically carried the briefcases of the real lawyers involved and played no real role.

He is an incompetant jackass who hates the police.

As for Pfleger, that son-of-a-bitch race-baiter, I hope he drives his Caddy into Lake Michigan.

WASHINGTON -- Most of the nation's largest cities got flunking grades on a report card released today that measures how well each city can evacuate its population before or after a major disaster.

Ten urban areas received grades of "B" or "C," six got a "D," and 20 got an "F" in the report by the American Highway Users Alliance. Only Kansas City, Mo., got an "A."

Among those that failed the test: New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Diego, Miami, Philadelphia, Denver, Atlanta and Boston.

Yea. They forgot to add the family of Fred Hampton, Jessie Jerkoff, Al I’m-not-Sharp-ton, and all of the rest of police hating, race bating, jag pies. They should put John Mark Karr on this “anti-blue ribbon” committee for pedophile vote.

I’m a catholic and am embarrassed every time I see that police hating, I-have-a-race-identity-crisis priest on TV. Why does he think that closing liquor stores in the ghetto will do anything productive? Does he think that people are going to actually go to work if they closed them all down?LOL!! Instead of focusing on how the police “hold down,” “oppress,” and “discriminate” against the people he represents, it’s time to stop making excuses for the stupidity occurring in the ghetto.

Asthma and diabetes should not be a disability or excuse to be stupid. I want to raise some money and put this slogan from Animal House on every friggin billboard throughout the city: “Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life.”

I really don't care a damm who is put there, I have nothing to hide, did nothing wrong, everything by the book, all suspect admit to their guilt without the use of any intimidating way, the more they lie the better it looks for me and everything is written on the report and has tons of arrest. So the Mayor or his new board can put anybody he wants and it doesn't concern me.

Expanding it what?
This board will be set up to reflect Daley's views and agenda, regardless of who he chooses and we can expect an even bigger mess racked with problems while slanted to slide more nonsense down on the working officers.

Who is left with any faith in this city administration. Not me that's for sure.

Channel 7 reported last night that Sergeant John Herman has not been suspended without pay two years after being indicted for aggravated criminal sexual assault and the crime was committed while he was on-duty and in uniform and the allegations are supported by dna evidence.

Could the reason he is still collecting a pay check was he worked for Cline when Cline was a lieutenant in Gang Crimes and later Cline nominated him to be a meritorious sergeant?

If Herman can be indicted and not suspended then the Union should step in and go to court and allow others in similar circumstances to work and be paid until tried.

Hell why not place Diddy aka PUFF DADDY on the panel he is already stamped APPROVED BY MAYOR DALEY.

%&#$%&@
Mayor Daley proclaims today Diddy Day instead of Friday the 13th to honor who other than Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy.

Combs was also allegedly involved in a shooting incident at a night club and was caught with a gun in the car with his then clean girl friend JLO aka Lopez. READ ON and ask yourself about your Mayor Daley and what he is reflecting back to this city. This is not a man to openly celebrate, yeah, yeah he works with kids blah, blah Mayor Daley!

Combs’s businesses include a fashion label, a restaurant, a magazine and Internet properties, as well as a slate of musical acts at Bad Boy Entertainment. One of those is Lopez, his girlfriend of the past year. While Lopez’s image has been squeaky clean, however, Combs has had brushes with violence.

His best friend, the rapper Notorious B.I.G., was murdered in 1997 while leaving a party in Los Angeles, reportedly as a result of a feud between another record company, and Combs’s own. A year earlier, another star rapper, Tupac Shakur, was killed at the age of 25 after a brief career in which he had glorified the “thug life” of urban rappers.

Earlier this year, Combs was found guilty of assaulting Steven Stoute, a fellow record executive, with a champagne bottle and ordered to pay $500,000 (£308,000) in damages and attend anger management classes.

Thank God Chicago has no problems that need addressing by Mayor Nimrod and the 50 thieving Aldermen.

They actually spent time honoring this has been hip/hop scum bag from New York.

As far as FOP speaking up: its all a setup!!!!
Thats to them look like a legit organization thats out there to protect us. Their all cutting backdoor deals w/Daley,Blago for their and their family's future.
There should be daily press releases pressuring Daley to pay his end into our pension fund. Daley has the money, he just said so.
Since Donawho wont challenge Daley, maybe a reporter who reads this blog can say something to Daley at a press briefing about funding the Police/Fire funds.
If we woke up one day to find out our pensions were gone, I wonder how many of uz would be willing to take up arms against this regime, and how many of uz who would bend over and just "take It"?
This pension issue has to be addressed now!!!!!!!!!

I see that certain people are finally getting IT. It does not make any difference who does what. The important thing to ALL police officers is the pension.
With the current pension situation, anyone under 57 or 58 is doomed. It will not matter if you are a Patrol Officer or Exempt. There will be nothing left. Look at the percentage funded in 2000 and look at the percentage funded now. What happens if the stock market and the bond market both exhibit Bear market trends. That Pension Fund is cooked, What will the city do? Bankrupt? Certainly just like Orange County. San Diego has a similar problem and so does a Texas city. Unless the FOP stands up, you may get 40 cents on the dollar of your pension in 2025. Look at the numbers and then look at the advsiors, just like the teachers pension fund, it is not for us but for the politicos to get campaign contributions for steering the money somewhere. Close to retirement and I feel sorry for ALL under 50>

BALL LESS: Why a search committee at all? The reason is Mayor Nimrod's fear of ever taking personal responsibility for anything.

I am an Assistant State's Attorney for 15 years. Some of my best friends are Chicago Police Officers. I have seen lots of good police, real police get fucked over because of politics or they cracked some gang banger's head (when it was necessary). I know the dept. and my office don't always see eye to eye especially when it comes to Felony Review decisions. But I am apalled that the city (Daley) would appoint a police hater and race baiter like Andre Grant to the OPS Selection Panel. He has made a fortune off suing the police. (He sucks as a lawyer and couldn't try his way out of a paper bag)I tried a case against him and kicked his ass all over the courtroom with a little help from some great dicks and tact coppers. He is cut from the same cloth as R. Eugene Pincham, another racist. Same goes for Fr Phleger. He hates the police too. Think Daley is running again? What a joke.
