Let the Coronation Begin
- Vanquished mayoral challenger Bobby Rush has all but endorsed Mayor Daley, calling him a "great mayor" who's done a "fantastic job" and "deserves another term."
Will state Sen. James Meeks become the next mayoral critic to grab a seat on the Daley bandwagon? It sure sounds that way.
On Thursday, Meeks joined Daley in an appeal for education funding reform and appeared to set the stage for a future endorsement of the 17-year incumbent's bid for a sixth term.
Of course, Dorothy Brown isn't happy.
- Hurt, incensed and moved to tears, mayoral challenger Dorothy Brown today accused State Sen. James Meeks of sexism for playing footsie with Mayor Daley and for calling Brown a "loser" unworthy of endorsement.
Watch for her to get some sort of judgeship shortly. Or if god forbid, a democrat wins the White House in two years, an ambassador's post for doing her sacrifical lamb duty for the Machine.

Of course, Bobby Rush is endorsing Mayor Daley. During the Hampton sign fiasco, I faxed some Tribune archived photos & stories to the Mayor of Bobby Rush ;)
FOR YOUR INFORMATION: There is a website in which your type in a name and your address and phone number appear. This even happens if your info is unlisted. Credit card companies sell your info when you shop.
After seeing that pitiful performance on TV by Dorothy Brown, when she failed to get Meeks' endorsement, no way would she get my vote. And of course she had to interject the fact that she is female and black. Is there a Republican running? If not, I guess it is time to look at Doc Walls.
Its obvious Brown doesnt have what it takes to enter the meat-grinder politics. Her press thing yesterday was just pitiful. And meeks didnt even use the N word at her....

There is a story out that the signatures on Daley's petitions are being challenged. If enough are thrown out he will be dropped from the ballot in February. This is a pipe dream but if that happens, save for a major write-in campaign and court battle, the election would be between Eugene Pincham's Dorthy Brown and Harold Washington's William Walls. All things considerd, Harold wasn't that bad.
If you did not sign a
Daley petition, it might be worth a call to the Chicago Board of Elections at 312-269-7936 or 312-269-7980 to ask if your signature was forged on a petition. As I recall, if one name is proven to be forged, the whole sheet of 20 or 25 signatures is thrown out.
Pipe dream maybe, but it could make things interesting.

Are you crazy!! That would have to come out of her budget. That would mean fewer hats. Besides, if she is so liked and important as a drug using prostitute can be, why need security?
If you wish to pull the right of alderpersons to carry, then disarm the retired cops as well.

Sorry, but Federal law says we can carry. Were trained peace officers, and have to qualify each year.
If you are an aldercreature, try carrying your gun outside this city, and lets see what law is going to prevent your arrest!
