More Federal Money

Didn't we just say what the plan was going to be?
  • It involves getting every bit of Federal money that the City can lay it's hands on,
  • spending it on toys and nonsense and a few well paid positions for connected folks with the right last names,
  • then hoping against hope that the Feds will intercept any real terrorists long before they manage to transport a device into the Midwest.
And now, less than 24 hours later, the Federal government comes up with 12 million dollars to lavish on the city:
  • Chicago is one of eight cities that will receive funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for transit security, the federal agency announced Tuesday.

According to a release from the department, Chicago was in line to receive $12.8 million in transit security funding in 2007. "Grant funding priorities include securing underground and underwater systems, reducing the risks of improvised explosive devices and radiological, chemical and biological weapons, as well as training, exercises and public awareness campaigns," the release said.

Hopefully this is just seed money by which the Feds will indict at least 10 more aldercreatures by some point in the coming year.

What do you want to bet that $12.8 million does not get spent on transit security?

Blackberries and Segways for all!!

Don't forget some of this federal money also goes for special employment at the airports and mass transit so we make out also.

Dear Commander, why is it that their are no police patrolling the streets in the 4th district. Are you punishing all the good law abiding tax paying citizens? Please Explain. Channel 2,5,7 okay maybe 9 or fox, do a piece on the 4th district manpower and crime stats.

Here are some facts many DON'T know:

The Millennium Park Bean is actually paid for by the Feds. It is actually a RADIATION DETECTOR.

The numerous cement FLOWER PLANTERS in the middle of our many streets that do nothing but screw up traffic and caused many of accidents are also paid for by the FEDS. Many of them are MISSILE SILOS armed with NUCLEAR MISSILES.

The shinny METAL BAND SHELL downtown is a protective barrier from ALIEN RADIO TRANSMISSIONS. Also serves as a UFO LANDING base during the wee hours of the night. (That's is why the Mayor closed Miegs Field, so there is no air traffic close to it.) This was also paid by the FEDS!

The FLOWER PARK and HONEY BEE FARM on the roof top of City Hall is being used to grow CANNABIS to fund many underground projects by the Mayor. Think about it, who would serve a search warrant on the Mayor's own little park on the roof of City Hall?

John Stroger is really dead and is currently being kept on ice with Walt Disney at an undisclosed secure location.

I will leak more information as it becomes available. But keep this stuff under your hat

The above must be true, I heard Lt. Richie Scotchbreath relaying this information to a few women in the bar tonight to impress them with his knowledge.

Stay tuned for this Friday.

Major personnel changes in 008th.

The brass is PEEEEEEEED OFF!

008th will have many new supervisors as well as a new D/C.

This is about 8.5 on the rictor scale, if this was an earthquake!

Hopefully the city knows this money is being watched by the feds and use it to keep s/e at the airports and cta going! (Told that Feb 15 CTA goes online also does this mean that finally we will get overtime?) Lets hope the city does not misuse this money also!

I hope when you saw Lt. Richie telling those top secret secrets to the women at the bar, those women he were telling this to were not the kind that might give him the ITCHEYS again! Last time it happened, he was seen running to the district bathroom every hour with his large tube of prescription cream to smooooooothe the pain and the itch!

You cant defend Mass Transit.

How can it be done?

Cameras? They MAY be useful for the post-incident investigation.

Extra federal money for Special Employment? Are you flipping kidding me? Look at the TARA special employment. We are gonna lose that cause the old-timers sign up then cancel.

That's nothing, that's about 10 points less than the earthquake that occurs when the Big Guy and Donnie have their mexican food and run to the bathroom together! One would think they set off a H-Bomb in that bathroom!

BTW it is "Richter Scale" not rictor scale.

Who's job is it protect the citizens of this country?

We will be well protected via information gleened by our officers detailed to the JTTF.

So you see the CTA really doesnt need the 12.8 million dollars.

What will it be used for?

Off Topic, but is there any truth to the rumor that call back is going to be released back into the districts to be put on light duty when there and man the desk? Thus shoving out the bid spots back to the street?
No this isn't a person trying to stir up anything this is an actual rumor I heard today from someone in call back and on light duty that they were already calling their own district to find out the work schedule they'd be working while inside.
Anyone from call back read the blog and confirm/deny this rumor?

All the good police officers in 004 have retired. All you have now are ass kissers and do nothings, even the watch commanders, street sgts & desk sgts, desk offricers are hiding and are lazy-they cant even get along with each other and with other police offiers, they fight among them selfs--004th is not the best police in the city.

I HAVE AN IDEA THE CITY CAN TAKE THE GRANT AND WILL COME UP WITH A NEW IDEA. THE TRANSIT SAFETY SECTION AND IT WILL HAVE OFFICER PATROL THE TRAINS AND BUSES FOR CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS. THE DEPARTMENT WILL HAVE VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL WORK FOR THEIR REGULAR PAY SCALE INSTEAD OF OVERTIME.
THE OFFICERS WILL BELIEVE THEY ARE GETTING OVER FOR MAKING SO MUCH MONEY SITTING ON A BUS, BUT IN FACT THE CITIES IS BURNING ARE MEN IN BLUE BY SAVING ON OVERTIME AND NEW HIRES.

If your mayor has any say so and control over the funds, and is as slimey as Philadelphia's John Street, the money will be misused.

Street's been watched by the Feds for YEARS and everyone around him has pretty much gone down, but somehow he always manages to get away with everything. The man is a POS; he's beyond corrupt.

I'm not sure there's a city in the US with a more corrupt mayor than John Street.

This is a bit off the topic, but I can fucking believe my eyes after watching the news today and seeing the fucking Aldercreature, walking into work like nothing happened the last few days. Is there any accountability on the part of the mayor, who is in charge if someone screws up? A regular P.O is definitely put on 30 days pending without pay. How in the world does this savage get arrested in a FBI search warrant and go back to work. The city is definitely the melting pot of bullshit. Yet the mayor is on the news talking about the Olympics, I guess that’s more important. Not to mention the bitch was an hour late.Police out there answer your jobs, 19P and go home. Look after your true brothers in blue and your families. Fuck the city, I once read that “no one gets fired for doing nothing” But count your blessing is “Joe” and baby momma make complaint against the police for ho-rasment.

Call me a paranoid freak who needs to be psyched, but has anyone else found it quite odd that the USOC announced that they will submit a site for the olympics in 2016. That the city would need to have 25 million banked by the end of March, strictly for the olympics. John Garcia reported that the city all ready had the bank and probably more by then. Boom, today the city receives close to 13 million for security improvements????

And I thought I was the only one to see the saucer land at Ohare.....

Off topic, not really sorry....

First time I have checked the post in about a month or so....

I use to ge to work every day, check out the blog to see if anything interesting happened overnight....

Then I got in the habit of checking the blog everyday before I left to see if any problems developed which I could be blamed for....

Well now I do not go to work anymore....

You've seen the last of me....

Paperwork is done, furlough for a coupla weeks, then it is addios....

It has been fun....

Met some GREAT PEOPLE, all sexes all colors, in their heart all blue....

But it is time to move on....

Seems like just yesterday I was sitting in the gym, trying to decide which of the six instructors to go to, 3 were great guys, three were otherwise....

As they said in that Indiana Jones movie "You chose wisely"....

Hard to believe it was over twenty years ago....

Lot has changed, lot has not, I worry about both....

I always imagined that my last day would be dramatic, I would come in, throw my badge down and say "I'm outta here", or I would just leave at the end of the day, and in about a week or so they could figure out I was done when they started seeing the slips never ended....

I chose a middle course, walked in did my stuff, and gave the slips, shook a coupla hands, and walked out....

Very anti-climactic, went out and had a nice evening....

So I just want you my brothers and sisters that there hopefully there will be a day that you can walk in and say goodbye....

I have seen too many guys and girls not make it to that day, whether the funerals were line of duty or not, I have hated everyone of them, it sucked everytime I had to stand at a coffin, say a prayer, and then go mumble something to the spouse and children....

Some things never get easier....

First line of duty funeral I ever went to was Lee Seward, that was a needless tragedy, have gone to almost everyone since, abd they were all needless tragedies....

One time I was on vacation in a non-contiguous state, when I heard on the local radio that an officer who was killed in a car accident was being buried that day, in about two hours, about a hundred miles away....

I called the department to ask if there would be viewing, explained I was a police officer on vacation, that I would like to pay my respects but that I did not have proper attire....

Hell I was lucky to have clean attire....

The dispatcher said I was welcome, do not worry about the jeans, said that the "Family would be honored that a Chicago Police Officer came to pay his respects"....

I bet about half of you would have gone, I went, and am glad I did....

But I did get out of there as quickly as I could....

The next year I went to the D.C. Memorial for the first time, I teared up....

As I trust many of you have....

If I can offer one piece of advice to each of you before you retire....

GO TO THE MEMORIAL....

It reminded me of the power and dangers of our lives, of the jobs we were called to do, and how we step to the plate evertime the dispatcher calls our numbers....

Good luck, god bless and be safe....

P.S. Part of me wants to list some of the great people I have known and worked for but I feel it would mean more if they heard it from the horse's mouth.....

P.P.S. Part of me wants to list four-five real class acts so people can know to stay away from them, but they are so inconsequential to me these days, I feel they are better off dealing with themselves, frustrated little men that they are, besides I did not come in an ass, I do not want to leave that way....

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!

9/11 hero's fatal sickness

49-year-old responder dies of esophageal cancer tied to the toxic dust

Frederick J. Stuck III, 49, a retired deputy sheriff and a first responder on Sept. 11, died yesterday at his Port Richmond home.

The couple's son, Frederick IV, said his father had responded immediately following the attacks and was part of a search for survivors at the former World Trade Center PATH station. For at least six weeks, he worked long hours in the rubble. He returned only briefly to Port Richmond during that time, coming home covered in the dust that smothered Lower Manhattan -- only to sleep and shower and return to Ground Zero.

Stuck developed asthma shortly after Sept. 11, his wife said, and had to use an inhaler. He developed an ache in his chest, then swallowing became difficult. When he was diagnosed with fourth-stage cancer in April, there was little that could be done.

it hasnt been nice seeing a rash of comments from non-workers dissing the workers. your a pussy and shouldnt be wearing that badge. you dishonor all those that are out there working hard each day. your also dishonoring those unfortunate that gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

long live the good hard working police officers. i salute all the men and women on this job that go out there and give it their all.

hey richard "dick" daley! are you listening. when you have second from bullshitting the public, can you please address the problem at hand. we need more police on the street. if a police officer gets hurt or heaven forbid killed because their wasnt ample backup out there, you will be getting a big ole lawsuit slapped on your forehead. maybe then, will we get the 3000 add'l officers we need.

The Boy Scouts of America are closing their doors for good. During a press briefing the B.S.A. announced that they had an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast fund raiser.

CLINE, MOLLOY and J. CARROLL showed up and after their breakfast, the B.S.A. ended up 4.5 million dollars in debt.
