Not Again?!?

Once again, we have to ask if the taxpaying citizens (and by that, we mean the citizens who actually pay taxes) are getting screwed by downtown:
  • Hey those who live in 016. They are now sending your tact team to 005. I guess you will be responsible for your own block now.
We covered this last year and someone raised some minor stink about it. At least one or two aldercreatures were calling 35th Street for info. Can anyone verify this? Have they re-started the nonsense of sending every single team in the city to Districts they don't belong to? Why aren't they sending this 4th TRU platoon down south?

diificult to say who is going where....unless the dept. makes public EXACTLY how many officers are on the street (not inside, not in units, etc.); then, makes public EXACTLY where those officers are being assigned, day to day.....city council, media, public interest groups, where art thou?....

shit, they send the 4th district teams elsewhere all the fucking time. 432 & 433 doesn't have any police presence as it is then they send the fucking tact and gang teams to other districts. what a fucking joke. the bosses in 4 need to put a stop to this and also demand more police. fucking midnights is almost all 99 units with most cars down. 4 is the 2nd biggest district in the city and I'll bet it has the least amount of coppers on the street. bullshit!!!!!

Charlie William's cell phone number can be found in the watch commander's office.

As a concerned citizen, using your first amendment right, give that number to your alderman. Any time when you find out that the tact teams in the district you live in are being sent to where ever the Alderman should call C.W. direct, even late at night, and demand that they be returned.

The Alderman should not be nice if they make that call it will have more effect. The Alderman should remind C.W. that they will have to approve any new Superintendent of Police.

How come 003 district has so many officers? What about 021..it also has almost as many officers as 004 or 025? This makes no sense. 004 and 025 are big districts covering alot of ground, and are busy too! 021 is small and slowing down..not what it used to be.

I mean you have slow districts.. (017 or 019) come to mind..that have as many officers as insanely busy districts.

How about a re-allocation of manpower or some district realignment to solve the problem!

Here's an idea..How about the leader's..leading for a change!

Maybe the city can offer special employment where you can work your own district(016) For your information, there's a new ghetto liquor store on Irving pk./Pittsburgh Now you have lots of section 8 buildings opening up on Irving pk. Get ready for a ghetto summer.

016 is gonna be "hopping" this summer. They take one rapid from afternoons every night to go else where. And we usually only have 2 to begin with. Can't wait till they take ALL of tact and gang teams again. A ton of one man cars! OEC even stacks in progress calls when the beat cars are at lunch. Unreal! Dispatchers that are "relief" are sending cars all over the place. 10 sector to 30 sector back to 10 sector then to 20 sector. 016 is not as busy as so many other districts as we all know BUT the jobs are piled high and we have lack of "manpower". When is downtown gonna wake up and start giving all districts with low man power some help instead of just sending them into other places because of political B.S.? DAAAAAAAAH...What am I thinking?THAT will never happen!

Call 911 every time you see a drinker or pisser.
You may not get quick service but it gives ammunition to the alderman in regards to manpower allocation.

Who r some of you kidding??? 004 is a giant dist but, is one of the least populated areas of the city. 019 barely has over 200 officers and that includes their gang teams which rarely work in dist. 019 is very slow but heavily populated. Dists like 025 have over 300 officers. 017 is not slow, its not fast but there is plenty of shit there. 021 is slow and uneeded. It could be swallowed up by the surrounding dists and no one would know the difference. The dists screwed the most are 008 and 016. They are the two most populated dists in the city and getting busier every day. 016 needs their gang teams and more officers. 008 needs an army, the war is being lost.

Moan, moan, and moan some more. Some of you people fail to look at your Uniforms, patrol cars or your checks. It says "City of Chicago" "Chicago Police". It doesn't say the 16th dst police, the 004th dst police. The distribution and use of manpower is under Police control via 35th St. The same officers who are bitching about assignments would have a shit fit, if their local politically connected aldercreatures would have any input regarding the assignments of Police Officers. Resign, quit is an option that is available to you. I guess next week you'll be trying to pick and choose what type of jobs that you will respond to.

to 11:38:00 It has nothing to do with racism, it has to do with having enough officers to fully and correctly police an area.

The 016 district is the largest district in the city and it is constantly policed with it's manpower being down 30%-40% from 10 years ago. The violent crime rate has risen in 016 tenfold in that time.

The citizens up there, including cops, deserve something for their tax dollars--which happen to be the highest residential rates in the city.

And as someone said here before, not all racists have white skin. Look at Rev Al, Rev Meeks, Lawyer Pincham and many others.

If they helped keep "the community" in order, instead of blaming others, i.e. white people, there wouldn't need to be allocation from districts, TRU and SOS could handle it.

If your not leaving your District they have you Wolfpacking. One can only guess what MORON came up with that idea. To place all your resources in one area and than leave it up to the poor Beat cop to explain why he has so many problems on his beat at the CAPS meetings without mentioning manpower issues. The forbidden "M" word. Some bureaucratic Supt. wanna-be wants to have the cure all idea for his resume at the beat cop and citizens exspense. If they just disband TRU and put the cops where they belong instead of sending them in after the homicides but that would only make sense and nobody at the top has that!! Lets send 240 cops on a rampage anywhere we want and we'll worry about the corruption and civil rights violations when we have to. The department hasnt learned from SOS. Hope people get the right beat numbers so the poor District guys dont get blamed for their bull shit..

First off, why is there more crime in 005 than in 016??

You must be a detective-more crime in 005 than 016. No shit dummy, but why do we have to suffer with no police service because the dingos that pay NO taxes and(excluding sales tax on pop, chips, dub magazine, etc.) contribute NOTHING for society get the most police service. Why do we care about shithead gangbangers killing each other over dope. Leave em for the motherloving rats.

Also, anyone that accuses somebody as a racist has no viable argument because it’s the easy way out, just like sitting around on a milk crate drinkin 40's, not working, popping out kids, claiming a disability to get free money.

To the naive "man" who wrote this gem of a comment above, 005 has had TRU there every day since January, in addition to the lazy afternoon police that populate that district. Its not a racial issue. You get more than your fair share of working police in the crime-ridden place you call home - Stop borrowing police resources from the tax-paying citizenry of 016, 022, and 008 to make up for where your police give up. The citizens of 016, 022, and 008 deserve the police service they pay for. You certainly don't. As for living in 005... sucks to be you. Oh, and ask your neighbor to stop dealing rock while your at it.

016 is 34 square miles. If it were a City it would be the 4th largest in the state of Ill.
FACT:
016 has 2 Gang Teams neither work Days.
Each period 1 Gang Team goes to 015 for the period then they switch w/ the other Gang Team.
3rd Watch gives up 1 car (rapid)every weekend to 015. They HAVE to be in RollCall at 2300 hrs in 015.
If you live on 1621 YOU HAVE NO BEAT CAR UP ON 1st Watch. They start it a 2230 hrs in an unmarked to work the south end getting curfews and contact cards.
And OT is NOT allowed.
So all of US paying $5,500 a yr in property taxes, we get shortchanged.

Seriously, look at the third watch schedule and three MIGHT be one car with two actual PO's on it. My current partner worked with me in 006 and left because of Captain M.M. It's nice to have a regular partner again who is a PO and you don't have to "worry" about when he get's into a foot chase or proofread his reports and inventories. Sorry to anyone new reading this but if I wanted to be a teacher I would take the FTO test. Thats not why I took this job.

Carl Marx was an interesting read in college, but it doesn't work in the reality.
