We all knew that Jesse Jackson and Mayor Daley were stupid. We just didn't realize how stupid. Check out this article about the weekend anti gun marches:
Mayor Daley also led an anti-violence march Saturday. Among other things, he said he'd like to see stricter licensing for gun sellers.
"If a manicurist in a hair salon and a barber need a license, why can't there be one for gun dealers in the suburbs?" the mayor said.
Um, sir? There are licenses for gun dealers. Numerous licenses. And checks. And balances. At the local, state and federal levels. And Jesse isn't much better:
- Reverend Jackson concedes Chuck's Gun Shop has not broken any laws that he's aware of. And that's the point, according to Jackson: He says his repeated marches on the gun shop are less about that particular business than they are about the laws that allow gun shops to sell firearms the way they do.
"[H]as not broken any laws..." Maybe the marches need to be held elsewhere? Like Springfield where they make the laws. Or maybe, just maybe, march in the neighborhoods and tell everyone to stop shooting at one another?

I have been a police officer working in the patrol division. (Vehicle) During my 26 years working numerous dist I have yet to recover a gun that was registered. I have taken my share off th street However I will tell you the criminal will alway find a way to get a handgun. The marchers should focus on parenting skills, for example our dept has no management skills so take a look at the conditions?

Sorry lady for your loss. However, maybe some blame needs to be placed on you for your failure as a parent. I am sick of reading these articles and the first thing the people do is shift the blame.

MY SOLUTION: Be a responsible parent and know where you kids are AND set some limits. Be a PARENT and not johnny's BEST FRIEND!
THE CITY's SOLUTION: Outlaw vans,matches & cigarette lighters,or just ban fire entirely,and increase curfew missions.
I also saw where several workers were seriously burned in a construction/industrial mishap in Bronzeville (one of the highest appreciating real estate areas in the city)while refinishing wood floors in a building under renovation, when a ignition source lit the vapors.
It sounds like something for OSHA to investigate (example, maybe an unsafe work environment, etc.)
The city's solution have fire fighters knock on doors in a 2-3 block radius and give everyone FREE smoke detectors and fire safety information.
They do this whenever there is a fatal fire anywhere in the city.
How much does this cost the taxpayers's each year? Hundreds of thousands of dollars perhaps?
And who supplies these to the city?
Probably some 11th ward crony of the Daley's or better yet a minority owned firm. This B.S. drives up the cost so that the average person buying the same item at Home Depot or Costco pays less!

The other night, men with guns call. 16 yoa goof takes off running holding his side. Gun team also responded, got him after he ran through a yard. He tossed a 9mm, one in the chamber. Not a big deal, just a regular occurrance in this city, coppers catch them all the time. If he had turned with it in his hand he gets shot. We would have been vilified for shooting another CPS student. He was in a playground, kids all over. Momma can't believe her baby had that gun, someone else must have thrown it down. Sound familiar. I saw that gun shop confrontation on the news last night. The police were not there to arrest the demonstrators rather they were there to protect Chuck's owner from Pflager as he had threatened to SNUFF out the owner.
Do a complete ban on Ammo. Without ammo those guns become mere clubs. Or we could do that $1.00 a bullet tax. If you want to shoot you gotta pay.
What about illegal drugs in the city of chicago. Why doesn't Sharpton,Phleger,Jesse and the Mayor march on the drug houses on the west side and threaten to snuff the drug dealers out
I'd like to know when Jesse and pleger are going to march on the homes of the shooters parents. When will they hold them accountable like they want to hold Chucks accountable? Has Chuck or any other gun dealer ever sold a gun to a kid who then went out and shot someone?

Hey Nutsack, think about this, most of us have to drive back through the same shitty neighborhoods that we just got done patrolling/locking criminals up in. They recognize us more often than we recognize them. How many of us have been out getting gas, or at a store or some other establishment and run into someone that we've locked up? Just one question. Why is an off duty member of this department,that is if he is even off duty,allowed to be a spokesman for the anti gun crowd? Thought there were G.O.'s rules and regs etc. not allowing us to give statements to the media be involved in marches and demonstrations etc. Same old bullshit get away with anything on this fucked up department as long as you are in line with the clout ridden. Many a city worker has lost a child but do something good in the kid's memory not be a spokesman for bullshit and assholes like Jesse and the Mayor.
If, on the day of that protest, I as a law abiding citizen wanted to buy a gun and was unable to due to the protest and closure of streets, could I sue the protesters for violating my Second Amendment rights?
The question may seem silly, but every time something like this happens- major protests shutting down streets, sidewalks, and businesses- our rights to movement and participation in interstate commerce are denied. We are not allowed into the areas of the major protests do conduct business, shop, eat, drink, or even traverse the city.
The time has come to explore suing these professional protesters for violating our rights.

I was at this fucking bullshit yesterday. The media didn't show the 300 cars from different car clubs being typical. The march was originally for a foot march and 75 people showed. It did not call for the 300+ cars. The Area 2 Deputy Chief allowed this to happen, which caused traffic conguestions, cta delays, and tax dollars misued. She needs to be stripped or forced out. Again, for someone who was never the real police fucking things up.... GREAT JOB!
So, if you see these assholes driving around representing their car clubs, Write em. Most of them have some type of infraction on their ride. If I could of I could have written many D>U>I's, sound impounds, and narcotic arrest. Nothing like rolling around smoking weed, drinking, and gang representing during a anti-violence march. So, Daley wants to compare hairdressers with gun dealers? Is he going to introduce hair owner id cards? Is he going to close the Wahl loophole that allows people to cut their own hair at home? After all, people who cut their own hair don't have the training that the professionals do! How about keeping records of every hair cut for 10 years?
I'm not sure what scares me more - the thought that Daley really doesn't know how regulated firearms usage is, or the thought that he does, and is so dishonest as to pretend that he doesn't.

A follow-up question would be this: Again, in these pages, the subject of governmental corruption and police involvement in organized crime has been mentioned. Do you really want a corrupt (partially or completely) organization to be the only armed entity in the area? How long would it take the police department to purge itself of those officers who have moral qualms about corruption? What lessons have we learned from history about armed police states with disarmed citizenry? You may reply that you are a good cop. Congratulations. I wish that all cops were good.
