Biased Headline

Another winner from the supposedly unbiased press:
  • Elderly man hurt in police shooting

    July 3, 2007
A 75-year-old Chicago man was shot by police following a dispute with another man on the Southeast Side Monday.

Jose Nava was in stable condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after being shot in the abdomen, police said.

Police officers went to Nava's house about 4:19 p.m. on the 8900 block of South Baltimore and found a man inside sitting at a table pointing a gun at another man, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers then told the man to "drop your weapon," but the man responded, "I'll kill you," the spokeswoman said. At least one police officer fired a shot at the man.

But some of Nava's relatives dispute the police.

Guy holding a gun, pointing the gun at another individual and a verbal threat. Didn't they just give the Superintendent's Award of Valor to a SWAT going to killing a guy doing this exact same thing?

Of course the relatives dispute the claims. After all they were'nt even there so they make great material witnesses. Besides if they agree, the city might actually decide not to pay out on yet another perfectly justified shooting.

Unfortunately, it is going to come to the point in the future that cops will need hat video cameras to follow them into situations like this to prove to the relatives they are full of SHIT. I worked in a suburban department that had the in car cameras. The guys bitched and moaned when they went in, "Big Brother is Watching Us." Well, those cameras saved their asses more times than screwing them from the citizen complaints that the cameras proved were wrong and the citizens walked away with egg on their faces knowing the police proved they were liars. Be safe out there.

Here's a grand idea. Don't carry around a weapon and you won't risk a police officer doing his job by ridding you of your oxygen habit.

We all know lots of these young hotdogz on the job just want to blast someone. You hear them racking the slide on their Sigs in the lockeroom at the beginning of their tours.

Just because you can't afford a Sig doesn't mean you have to hate. Relax.

Yea, that's great. But when is the State going to start prosecuting those who file false complaints?
