I heard Roma Wade from WLS AM 890 this morning arm chair quaterbacking the police shooting were the current honor student who loved to dance was shot while running from the police with a loaded 9mm handgun.
She stated that it is never justified for an officer to shoot someone in the back. She then went on about how this shooting is wrong, and the police need to be brought to justice over this incident and the "well spoken" people of the community are justified in their complaints against the Chicago Police.

I do not agree with giving CPD more guns. With the gun control laws in place in Chicago, you do not need them. I would even go as far as taking away your handguns that were made after 1982. Anything before 1982, you can keep. The rest get turned in for $100.
I would then say, for those police who were too young to even purchase guns in 1982, they be forced to carry registered 5 rnd 12 GA pumps for their duties.
Whats good for the goose, is good for the ganger. Gun control should start at the law enforcement level.
So instead of that kid getting popped with a 9mm, he would of gotten a 1 oz slug for his troubles.
Also, since Tasers are banned to own by civilians, same goes with CPD. So no worries about tasing someone to death, who is high on meth for example.

I just want to know where she gets the idea of "It is NEVER justified for an officer to shoot someone in the back"... she is dead wrong... just on its face. HA HA, you must be too young to remember Sergeant "Action" Jackson from the court on LaSalle. Now HE was a ball buster. Better be squared away with uniform and don't be one second late to sign in.

Did it ever occur to any of you that one of the Mayor's key Strategies in bidding for the Olympics is the promise of hiring more police. The top CPD command appear to be very pathetic and unable to handle serious situations. So CYA. Don't get jammed up by their incompetence. Phil Cline got off to a good start but then SPECIALIZED everybody. Who the hell answers the 911 calls? How is the Dept. tap dancing around the Poor Response and No Response complaints that must come in constantly. What the hell do they talk about at those morning exempt meetings, the weather? Does a Beat Car now ever get a job on their Beat? Does the Beat Officer even know anyone good or bad on the Beat? I doubt it. What's this bullshit about one man cars on 3rd Watch, and I don't mean hospital cars or prisoner details? I thought those days were long gone?Good luck everybody. hey the reason why all those wessssiders are so unhappy all the time is because they don;t have air conditioning. The are hot an sticky in their shitty little section 8 units so they go to all our beautiful city parks or hang out on their porches in the 90+ degree heat looking for relief. Unfortunately, outside their domiciles is not much cooler and that is why they are always so pissed off. I think they should all move to Canada where the weather is cooler...
Did it ever occur to any of you that one of the Mayor's key Strategies in bidding for the Olympics is the promise of hiring more police. It really wouldn't be more Police since there's a thing called attrition (We lose about 50-70 policemen/women a month), and the other reality factor: we're down a few thousand policemen in anyway. That's how Phil Cline got the job, he promised more with less!, and that's a fact!
We are not short 2000 officers, it would be nice to have an additional 2000, but we are not short that many. The entire department sworn manpower is 13,500 or so, patrolman is somewhere around 10,000 or so, maybe a bit less, we are near what our budgeted strength is, sorry....

I do not agree with giving CPD more guns. With the gun control laws in place in Chicago, you do not need them. I would even go as far as taking away your handguns that were made after 1982. Anything before 1982, you can keep. The rest get turned in for $100.
I would then say, for those police who were too young to even purchase guns in 1982, they be forced to carry registered 5 rnd 12 GA pumps for their duties.

So instead of that kid getting popped with a 9mm, he would of gotten a 1 oz slug for his troubles.
Also, since Tasers are banned to own by civilians, same goes with CPD. So no worries about tasing someone to death, who is high on meth for example.

I am just a gun owner out in the burbs, tired of your politicans trying to take our guns away, like the did to the good people in Chicago. Your main issue with crime, is gun control. You created a flock of sleep, with wolves in it.
I aint a democrat. They fuck up this state enough without my support.
But gun control should happen in CPD. If you have banned handguns since 1982, you should be happy to not carry one in your duties. If its good for the civilians in Chicago, its good for you. YOu all can sing together around the camp fire
If more cops in CPD would speak up, and protest those policies, you can keep your guns. But as long as you let your mayor squak about gun control for the state, we need to get you all disarmed, and packing hunting shotguns, and bolt actions. I bet you cant even own a Win 1872 repeater in that town these days.
Chicago needs CCW. IL needs it. That will help with crime in the city. Where are you all in supporting that?

Off Topic and maybe this has already been addressed here since I am new here, but with residency being such a hot topic Is it true that a certain Capt C.W. from 5 is living out of the city, South Holland I think, with the city's permission. C.W.=cynthia white, inquiring mind justs want to know, sorry if this has been addressed in the past.
CW was addressed months ago and SCC buried that rumor. She lives in the 005th district.
I saw Cynthia White and Mary Rozell in West Pullman Park at 124th and Princeton one night last week. They were sitting on a bench drinking beverages from brown bag wraps.
Is that the same Mary Rozell who while detailed to the 5th district for a day from the 4th dist asked for the 4th dist work sheets to be faxed to 5 for her to work on and the 005 desk crew informed this genius that 005 was out of fax paper and this brilliant mind told the 005 desk crew to call 004 and have 004 fax over some fax paper, we all had to turn away because we were laughing so hard.
