How a Story Changes

We're almost positive that it has nothing to do with consulting a lawyer. From the SunTimes:
  • Gefery Johnson was naked, handcuffed and not physically resisting arrest when police shot him twice with a Taser stun gun, his mother said Sunday, one day after her son died after the incident.

"He said, 'Momma, they're killing me,' " said his mother, Lula Johnson, from the Auburn Gresham home where her 42-year-old son had also lived. "They executed my son, right here in my house."

That's todays version. Yesterday?
  • The subject, upon being Tased sat down, then jumped up and pulled the Taser prongs away from his body and lunged at the police again,"
Hmmm. What could POSSIBLY have led to the alternate viewpoint being advanced? Here's a hint:
  • $$$$$$
Mentioned at the end of the article is Johnson's 23 other arrests, including charges for attacking family members. And the fact that drugs were found in his bedroom. We don't doubt that the autopsy will show some level of narcotic intoxication, but who knows what the coroner will ultimately decide? After all, he might have to set himself up for a consulting gig when he retires.

Police officers wearing shorts?

August 3, 2007
C'mon, we don't wear shorts in offices -- you need to look professional. Also, maybe the writer who suggested that should start a health clinic for some of these police officers. If they lose a little weight and get in shape like our military has to get in shape, maybe they wouldn't be as hot. I think we need to do something drastic about overweight police officers. Most of them go on to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. They couldn't run -- that's why they have to shoot. Mayor Daley, get a boot camp for these cops.

Man accused of biting an officer during arrest
August 6, 2007
A Chicago man is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail after he was charged with biting a police officer.

Andre Hines, 48, appeared in Bond Court on Sunday.

On Saturday, police officers from the Shakespeare District responded to a report of a battery in progress, prosecutors said. They attempted to arrest Hines in a domestic assault case when he bit one of the responding officers, prosecutors said. Hines also faces charges stemming from the domestic assault, prosecutors said.

WHO IS THIS GUY FRAWLEY? A FORMER CHICAGO PO FOR 7 MONTHS,DID HE GET FIRED?

Rezko's $50 mil. Iraq deal
Two years ago, Iraq's Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company owned by now-indicted businessman Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop with a checkered financial past. Within a month, an Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo.

Frawley, 56, was a Chicago cop for seven months in 1977. He has owned businesses that sell resins to make plastic bags. He is a friend of Rezko's former business partner Daniel Mahru, an attorney for Companion when it got the Iraqi contract.

Frawley and Rezko owned Companion, according to two sources.

IS PHAT PHIL DRAWING A SALARY FROM OUR CHICAGO POLICE MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS? IF SO,EVERYONE NEEDS TO DEMAND AN ACCOUNTING OF FUNDS AND TO TERMINATE THEIR PAYROLL WITHDRAWALS.

IS THIS WHY PHAT PHIL FORCED EVERYONE TO SIGNUP FOR DIRECT PAYROLL WITHDRAWALS TO THE CHICAGO POLICE MEMORIAL?

IT IS A VERY NOBLE MISSION THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED ALREADY. WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING? WHY ISN'T THERE A FINANCIAL STATEMENT POSTED ONLINE? DOES ANYONE KNOW IF ANY GOLDSTAR FAMILIES ARE RECEIVING FUNDS? I DEMAND TO KNOW WHERE MY MONEY IS BEING SPENT!!!

BLOATED SALARIES FOR "CLOUT BABIES" IS WRONG!!!

Top Cop Shop: Mayor Daley has yet to name his new top cop, but retiring police Supt. Phil Cline knows what he's doing next.
• Translation: Sneed hears Cline has decided to follow his heart and will become the first executive director of the Police Memorial Foundation, which assists families of slain and permanently disabled police officers maimed in the line of duty.

Tipsville: Sneed hears Cline turned down a job as president of a private security firm and as police chief in the suburbs (Cicero?). Word is Cicero President Larry Dominick wanted Cline to clean up crime in the village. CICERO REJECTED PHIL,HE WANTED TOO MUCH MONEY.

Quoth Cline: "The last four years I've gotten close to the Gold Star Families, and I want to make sure their children are taken care of financially. Police Officer Jim Mullen's kids are coming of age to get a degree, and I want to make sure funds are available for all the kids of police officers who put their life on the line." (Mullen is a former Chicago Police officer who was shot in the face and paralyzed while on duty in 1996).

"China city traffic cops given 43 years to live"

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese city traffic police have an average life expectancy of just 43 years because of the dire working conditions and pollution, state media said on Tuesday.

And nearly every traffic policeman in the booming southern Chinese city of Guangzhou suffered nose or throat infections caused by dirty air.

If that in fact is a true quote from the Fat Ass himself then Phil you are truly full of shit. Jim has one child not "kids" and she is nowhere near college age you fat headline grabbing asshole. Typical of what you have always been on this job a teller of non truths and a headline grabber, this time using a disabled hero to grab the headline. Anybody that contributes a dime to this knowing that this liar and thief has a part of it is an idiot. Question: is the Memorial Fund there to pay for disabled coppers or is it there to Memorialize our fallen members of the CPD? Does this mean that our great department and our great city aren't helping our disabled financially? Jim and all our disabled men and women deserve the best of everything and their families should be taken care of. BUT ask yourselves why is the Memorial Fund paying for any of this? Should be the City of Chicago paying 100% not the Memorial Fund. Sure seems like fatman and his cronies set this Memorial Fund up to pay out money and I'll bet lots of that money goes to the fatman and his pals. Anyone care to check on this? Makes me proud we can't even have a Police Memorial in this town that isn't corrupt.

" Most of them go on to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes"

Certainly don't want that.
Squad clear from working out, going for lunch got eat something healthy don't want to be afflicted with the above medical conditions.

Love it. That should cut about 3 hrs off my work day. Sounds Great, when does it start?

How about this for a settlement? Take the 'victim', caculate his age, any health problems, and round up to see how long he would have lived. Let's be nice and say 70 years old. Take his SSI/disability check and multiply it by the years he lost. Then that should be the settlement. We would pay out, what, a couple grand tops?

Is the Chicago Police Memorial a 501(c)(3)? If it is the financial statements can be requested and must be made public. The Secretary of State has copies that can be obtained with a FOIA request. The media should publish a full disclosure so we can see where are dollars are going.

I agree that open accountability is in order for the Police Memorial Fund, given the amount of money that is contributed by officers and citizens. However, to suggest that Phil Cline or anyone has pilfered funds from the account, without any basis whatsoever for making such a spurious and malicious accusation just shows what a small, ignorant, cynical ass you are. It is hurtful to the foundation and the good name of all of us.

Hey Fat Ass Phil, how much help did your fund give to Sue Overton? Read your FOP newsletter for that answer. We all would like to see the list of disabled officers the Fat Ass and the fund have helped. Just like all else on the CPD even the disabled have the haves and the have nots.As always it is who you know that counts. There will be the Fat Man supporters and those with clout who will deny this but the truth to any honest CPD cop is that some disabled brothers and sisters sit in nursing homes and are left to rot or never get the financial or medical help they need, while those who are high profile get what they need. Wonder how many children of the officers on that memorial will ever see a dime of that fund from the Fat Man towards their college? Let's ask Mrs Silva or Mrs Perez or Danny Doffyn's daughter that question. Hey Phil how about answers to these questions. How do people like the Fat Man and the Mayor sleep at night knowing how dishonest and corrupt they are? And us as always believing in a cause follow these people blindly and never ask the questions or seek the honest answers. How about it SCC is it time to ask the questions and demand honesty for once?????

If I am correct Mrs. Silva made out okay. Her husband Sgt. Silva had his Star retired and added to the honored star case last month.

Line-of-duty(death)benefits. Even though his death was a result of an illness while training. Cline deserves praise, prior to his actions as Superintendent, Hector's death would not have qualified as Line-of-duty because it was not at the hands of an assailant for example. So his Star would not have been added to the case.

I'm sure the widow would take her husband in lieu of the benefits any day..but this change in CPD policy more than likely helped her out greatly.

Any children will get State benefits also..college tuition waivers, etc.

Correct me if I am misinformed.

P.S. It is still prudent to have adequate life insurance also. But, far to many officers are too cheap to spend $100.00 or less a month to protect their loved ones.

What do they want from us? They call us for an emergency or bullshit or whatever. We take justified action based on their complaint or problem and they instantly turn on us. Bitch, don't call the police next time then. Fuck you and your physco son that wants to fight the police. Thats like going to a domestic call in which ole boy beats ole girt. She calls 911, you respond, see her injuries, go to arrest ole boy then ole girl jumps on your back cause ole boy is fighting you and says she loves him and doesn't want to prosecute. Thats all after he's taken the shit to the next level.

Exactly the point being made. Phil claims his memorial fund gives money to Gold Star families for their kids and to disabled coppers for help. Fat Phil's quote and his bullshit words not mine. Just would like to see the amount of money old Fat Man has given to these families and the disabled coppers. If you have some kind of proof of what the Fat Man's memorial fund is doing then show it if not then pull your head out of your ass and ask where has all that money gone and where is it going????? Don't come on here defending Fat Man and calling coppers "cheap". Just somebody from the Memorial Fund show us who they have helped financially and where do they plan on spending the money.

A question from an out of towner;

To the out of towner surprised that a guy over forty still lives with his mother and calls her momma--

Obviously you don't come from a place where there are multiple generations that have never had gainful employment and have lived off the public for their entire lives.

If this is true and you don't have this issue--please let me know where it is. I'm close to retirement age and I would love to find out where Ozzie and Harriet lived.

To Out of Towner,
I don't think it's a Chicago thing. More a cultural thing.
How about the Mamma calling the 42 year old "My baby"? "The Po-lise done kilt my hard workin', decon of the church baby".
Of course now that the "Albatross" is dead, Mamma stands to make a goodly sum from her baby at the "Polises" expense. Only in Chicago, because the big shots knuckle under to the Revs and JJ and now Fat Al.
