Support Mike Mette
- The Mike Mette Defense Fund committee will be hosting a rally in support of Mike, on Thursday August 23rd, 2007 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the White Eagle Banquets and Restaurant, located at 6839 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL. Tickets for the event are $60.00, which includes a Buffet table, Open Bar and entertainment. There will also be a silent auction, featuring many great items! All proceeds from this event go towards Mike's legal defense. Come out and show your support to Mike and his family, as they continue their fight, to right this terrible wrong!

I have to call SCC out as a hypocrite and a bullshitter.
In another thread I asked you for your bright ideas about how to safelyy stop a fleeing motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, using another motor vehicle in an urban envireonment.
So far your silence is deafening.

I would encourage everyone to help this officer out. This guy is in a real "catch 22". Read the story. People in Iowa are outraged as well. This incident has the same kind of theme that the college students were accused of raping a stripper at a party out east. The ASA or DA in this case is also making a name for himself at the officers expense as well as the judge.
Actually, the DA out east was found guilty of practicing law for his going to trial knowing the evidence against the boys was false.
The feds shoud look at this lawyer and judge.

I was working special and I stopped in 023 and ran into the biggest moron I have ever met. I guess 023 recently got a new Lt. on days Lt.K he used to be an Inspector and he should have stayed one! I talked to a few people in 019 and Area 3 and he is already a LEGEND of how not to be a boss. This guy actually terminated a chase.....are u ready for this.....it was a FOOTCHASE!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!!! NOT DONE YET.....
Next... this Lt. asked the officers involved in the footchase why the hell they didn't do a TRR which is required by general order....ummmm .....the dumbass actually thinks making someone run requires a TRR !!! and its not a general order!!!....UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Dumbass isn't done yet there is more.... He thinks that when you get overtime slips signed for court that the officer once again is required to have a subpoena by general order... he actually ripped into a cop for this!!! We stopped getting subpoenas, what, 5 or 6years ago!!! He put himself down for a school crossing......wait.....on a Saturday!!!! Not done yet.... He got on the air with an hour left in his tour and said hold me down time due the rest of the tour!! The dispatcher actually laughed and said " thats a first ". Last but not least the fine example of what a Lt. should be responded to a rape in progress in Wrigley (possible serial rapist which has been all over the media) and he actually stopped 2 cars from touring the area for the offender because he wanted someone to do the case report immediately and fax it to Area3!!! Lets see...catch the serial rapist or write the case.....which is most important?...............WOW WHAT AN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to change the subject on this but, "I'm boiling". I just fired off a comment to MyFoxChicago about young Ms. A.J. Sterling and Fox for referring to the deceased ARRESTEE from 81st and Green as a VICTIM!! He was Tasered and he's dead. That's all that is known, unless Ms. Sweet Pea knows more. Maybe these reporters are long overdue to go and take some Criminal Justice classes. Spend some time perusing the law books AJ and less time with the peroxide.

In response to your question, I don't think there is a way to safely stop a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed in an urban area. That is with or without using a vehicle. That is just the nature of E=mc2. Another officer in CA was just killed laying out stop sticks to stop a pursuit. It is all about risk management. I think there should be mandatory punishment that is so severe, that if caught, the offender would be forever reminded of the day they fled. The punishment would have to be more severe than almost any other. The act of fleeing would supersede the commission of a robbery. Congrats on your retirement.

The P.O. then drove to 019 and got the WC there to sign while shaking her head about the fool in 023. Hey stupid, why take the WC position if you don't know the duties of the WC? And if you don't know READ THE FUCKING ORDER ON IT!! This guy is on the air all day doing the Sgt.'s job with no clue about the streets.

Could this be the legendary new Lt K.B. ?
I have known Lt. K for years and he is a box of rocks when it comes to the working police. In his entire career he has less than 10 felony arrests....for his entire career!! and he only got those because his partner was a worker. He thinks he is always right because he was an inspector and that tells you that he loves to JAM up cops. If a copper makes a nice arrest you should let him be or say nice job, this tool will write him up for not wearing his hat or having to many pockets on his vest!!! Wow! We really need to put this guy back in IAD where he belongs.
