Who's in Charge Again?

  • Two years ago, Mayor Daley asked a former federal prosecutor who specialized in hunting down street gangs to root out City Hall corruption from within.

Determined to answer "questions ... about the integrity of my administration" raised by the Hired Truck, city hiring and minority contracting scandals, Daley promised to "expand the power" and staff of Inspector General David Hoffman to improve the performance of an office long criticized as ineffectual.

"Inspector General Hoffman has my full support ... to root out and prevent misconduct -- whether in hiring, contracts or wherever it occurs," the mayor said then.

Now, a marriage born of necessity is showing serious signs of strain.

Once again, the infamous micro manager that the mayor is comes to the fore. It's truly amazing that he managed to get away with his "I cannot recall" answers during his recent depositions.

"I cannot recall." - Mayor Richard M. Daley

How ironic. If the electorate wasn't a bunch of morons, we could force legislators to enact a RECALL REFERENDUM INITIATIVE whereby the signed petitions of say ten percent of the voters could force a RECALL REFERENDUM on city, county and state officials.

Then voters would be enabled to RECALL the mayor, removing him from office by the very same process in which the electorate voted him into office.

Add TERM LIMITS and we, the People, could hold arrogant scoundrels like Daley accountable.

For those of you unfamiliar with a RECALL REFERENDUM, you need only look to the State of California. The voters successfully RECALLED then Governor Gray Davis and voted in Arnold Schwarzznegger.

If Daley can't "recall", RECALL DALEY!

Daley can't fire Hoffman. Hoffman was appointed to a 4 year term - I think he's got 2 years left. Hopefully he doesn't throw in the towel and stays the rest of his 2 years. Where is the rest of the media on this? Fran Spielman is the only one that had anything on this. All media should be all over this. Daley thought Hoffman would be a little puppet like the rest of his department heads....he was mistaken. Daley doesnt like having a truly independent office investigatng all the corruption. Truly independent = Daley can't pick and chose which investigations he's gonna squash.

Maybe just maybe there isn't anything there you fucking ass wipes. You don't think Hoffman would follow a lead to the fifth floor? You're nuts! There is no lead because there is no corruption in City Hall!

Former City Clerk, Laski, fresh out of prison, has announced that he has written a book on democrat corruption in Chicago.

He told reporters that there are three chapters on Daley alone.

Im sure it will be read with great interest at 219 Dearborn.

We can only hope !!!!!
