Thank You Letter
From Karen Martin regarding the fund raising parties for the suspended dispatchers:
- I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped raise the money we needed.
I was overwhelmed by the turn out at Marquette Park and at Casto's.
We had a steady stream of people at Skinner Park coming over on their lunch or break. We had visits from some off duty police dispatchers, fire dispatchers, police officers and a few on duty beat cars too.
Unfortunately we were stopped in our tracks at the park because of the rain. The geese were swimming in the puddles while we were packing up.
We were soaked!
There was a good turn out at Marquette Park too. Bean bags were tossed...burgers and beverages were consumed!
Casto's was PACKED.
Thank you to all of the Call Takers, Dispatchers and Supervisors, both on the Police and Fire side who were there either on your day off or after work. It's great to be able to chat with each other for a few minutes without someone interrupting and talking in our ears!
A Very Special Thank You to all of the Police Officers and CFD personnel who came out to show their support for the voices on the other side of the radio too. It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces and hear so many familiar voices. Always nice to put a face with a name/voice/beat number.
We had a few raffle prizes and did a split the pot raffle which was again donated right back to the cause!
It really makes me smile to think that even though everyone always bickers back and forth about almost anything and everything we can ALL come together to support two of our own.
Thank you all again...
Karen Martin

Is Karen Martin the lady that has the voice of Stevie Nicks?
To quote the insufferable Paris Hilton, "THAT'S HOT!"
Shake your tambourine, Karen!
Well, perhaps if all districts were notified of the fundraiser, there would have been more funds raised. I work in 016 but one of the dispatchers used to be ours. I certainly would have come or at least bought a ticket. Did anyone else in a North Side district see anything about a benefit?
We all have to stick together.

Can the city please hire some dispatchers who we can understand? Blab, blap, blab, huh?
Karen and Mike PLEASE come back to Zone 6!!! Nothing personal but These new dispatchers need to train on another zone! On multiple occasions they gave me Duplicate jobs or "Dup's" 5 times that I coded out already!!! I can go on and on. Im sure they're good people but it's not a zone to train on. Im affraid we might be having another benefit soon if they dont get someone with more experience on there.
Stevie we love ya, sexiest voice in the city!
I work in 013 I knew nothing about the benefit.
I work a north side district..I didnt hear anything about a benefit for dispatchers!!!! I too would have went.
To, Kanren Martin.
" It was nice to be able to chat with someone for a few minuts without any interuptions or someone talking in our ears".
I am assuming you are referring to the Police Officers working the streets, whom the dispatchers are there to suport as the ones doing the interupting?
Nice real nice!!!
To those who claim to have known nothing about this fundraiser, it was previously posted on this site!
I found out about about Casto's last minute from my buddy in 007. Was it all word of mouth?

MIKE AND KAREN COME BACK TO ZONEE 6!!!
THESE NEW DISPATCHERS ARE HORRIBLE, SOUNDS LIKE THEY GRABBED A HYPE OF THE STREET AND GAVE THEM A HEADSET WOW.

Hey Handjob,
She is very right, 87% of the coppers on zone 6 mostly in 007 have no idea how to use a radio nor do they have any radio manners. When the dispatcher and a unit are talking you don"t interupt for lunch or an event number for a street stop unless you have an emergency. You should have learned that in the academy PPO retard.
On a side note speaking of PPO's has anyone notice how more and more of them think they fucking know everything. People need to treat them like the old days ignore them like they have a rare disease until they prove themselves. stop letting these retards run around out there like chikens with their heads cut off
I work in 012 and didn't know about anything planned in Skinner Park. Or anywhere else for that matter. Would have been there if I had, but it also would have been nice to know about in case we got jobs there about a disturbance. Or maybe the dispatchers were just going to hold them.
So it was posted previously? Some of us don't check in every hour.
To, Kanren Martin.

she did not mean it literally, relax!! Just because people only listen to you when they are getting paid to doesn't mean you have to get so bent out of shape.
I believe every district received a fax from the 911 center. That's what I was told when they called me to hang it up.
it's was also a main post on the dispatcher sight, if any po's ever go to that......
Wouldn’t have been funnier if the party was held at Durkin Park Rather Than Marquette Park?
What the fuck, zone 6? The other night the Detectives had to get on the air 3 or 4 times before you acknowledged them while they put a stop on a car that had possible armed subjects in it (72-Sacramento). When we got there, the whole neighborhood had emptied out on those guys, it looked like Custer's Last Stand. We heard them, how come the zone didn't?
And the call on that car was just read off with the backlogs and not simulcast as it should have been.
what about a fund raiser for that poor kid valdez from delasalle whose ass was beat so bad because the dispatcher didn't do there job appropriately--im sorry those dispatcher didn't deserve a fundraiser--they probably destroyed some 16 year old kids life cause the kid will never play ball again--i know the dispatchers didn't do the beating but it was their fault that the beating progressed so long
Karen and Pat,
We love you guys and are very happy to hear that the benefit was a success! Never heard of the benefit till now, or would have been there.
Zone 6 is a mess without ya! Those without a clue on the zone need to get one real fast! People without radio manners need to get some before they start being ignored.
For the PPO's: You don't know anything, ya ain't top cop, you haven't proven yourselves, and will likely get someone killed if you don't get killed first. Listen to the vets who have been here since you were in diapers, and stopr trying so hard...you look like asses!
Just do the job, and leave your police fantasies where they belong: the locker room! Shut your mouths, open your fucking eras, and use your eyeballs. If you do that, the brains you don't have might actually grow!
I live by the park I hope the dispatchers are terminated.
The cc room should never have been replaced by these morons if we had a union the zones would be manned by police officers
