Bears Finale
At last, an end to a mediocre season.Can they win two in a row? The Saints actually have a shot at a playoff spot, so they'll be playing to win. The Bears biggest problem is a let down after an emotional win last week against Green Bay.

da bears. it was enjoyable watching the pack get a whoop down last week. favre is a legend but had a bad day. next year my prediction is bears go 10-6 and make playoffs. go blackhawks.
At least they should get a top 10 draft pick.
Off topic--But what a great game tonight between the Giants and the Patriots.
Kudos to the boys from Beantown, they've earned my respect and I hate the AFC.

#1:Because all the restaurants close at midnight on New Years Eve!
#2: Most of the young officers assigned to TRU have a 1 am curfew set by their parents.
#3: Because your not TRU material if you don't have a gun pinch by that time.
#4: Their ANOV Book expires at midnight on 31 DEC 2007.
#5: Because Sgt. Billy "I'll fight to the death to defend my officers" Shields won the arm wrestling contest against Jerry Lewis' MDA kids and won the bet to have his guy go home early.
#6: Because one of Dana Starks' kids got a free toy from TRU officers.
#7: Because all of the officers from TRU will be performing at the ROSE BOWL GAME 1/2 Time Show. They will do their show called, How To Sack A One Bagger and Stretch it out for the Whole Game Routine.
#8: The officers then have a holiday court appearance, Santa filed a Illegal Union Beef For Passing Out Presents Without a North Pole Santa Local Union Card.
#9: Their hair gel has a 31 DEC 2007 expiration date.
and finally the number 10 reason why..........

#10: The new Supt Jodi Weis invited them all to a late night hot tub party to meet the men and women of the specialized unit that single handedly lower the homicide rate to an all time 40 year low!
And personally pin the new TRU CRIME REDUCTION RIBBON ON EACH OF THEIR SPEEDOS! And to personally shake the strong gripping hand of the most muscular and powerful person on this job, Sgt. Billy Shields. As Jodi said... any man that would meet any officer in a dimly lit dark parking lot to protected the name and reputation of his officers is man he wants to meet!

Off topic: "The Wire" on HBO a realistic police show is comming back in 2008 for a new season. For you who have not seen this show it is really realistic and deals with police in Baltimore and shows all the bullshit a police department has to put up with in a big city, ie; Mayor, politics, clout, reverands,accountability,gangs, narcotics, etc... I swear when watching the show they are really talking about the C.P.D. and City of Chicago.
SCC, this season the theme is guess what? The "Media" a.k.a. the newspapers.It deals with and shows on how the paper companies are losing millions of dollars in circulation due people getting their news from the internet and yes SCC from "BLOGS". Their season will show how the paper companies sensationalize stories or lack in accurate reporting in order to sell papers. Guess what sells papers? thats right stories dealing with the police.
To any officer who have not heard of or seen The Wire I srongly suggest you watch this season and if possible watch all the previuos seasons, I guarantee you wll be saying "Shit that just like in shitcago" Remember the season starts the first Sunday of January 2008.

Regarding TRU,
Lets face it,TRU is another "madeup wonder clout kid" unit. TRU serves no viable purpose on the CPD other than imaginary and to inflate the ego's of those who perceive themselves to be better than the rest of the CPD.
Hopefully, Jody exercises some commonsense and practicality and gets rid of this scourge. TRU will soon be in 08's headlines and will be the next focus of the media.
The best approach to healing the wounds of the CPD is to get back to the basics. Elitism and separation are not the solution. Unity and cohesiveness can be achieved by bringing the ranks back to snuff.

I hope Lovie realizes now he has a QB, all he needs to do is use him. Orton is 12 and 6 as a starter, has a better arm than Grossman as well as a better winning percentage, and seems like he can find a way to get things done if given the chance.
Would be nice to see Orton as the #1 guy in camp next year and let Grossman take it away from him if he's such a "hot rock QB"

once again, come show us how it's done. at the very least, be a "witness". I've had a few cases go south because the big bad "off-duty" cop didn't want to do the right thing and be a true witness and follow through with a burglary case.
