Bottom Feeder Guilty!

  • from BlackFive comments - The update: At 1400 hours the defendant showed up, and was told that he was half an hour late. The Judge stated on the record that the defendant had done the same thing during the previous court date, and he said that the defendant called and said that wanted to wait for the media to leave. The Judge said "That is not the way I run my courtroom." He increased the bail and took him into custody and told him to try and work out a deal with the State. About 25-35 marines and assorted military were there.

The case was recalled at 14:22, and the State said that the defendant had asked for permission to put his belt and such back on. The Judge said, "Treat him like all the other prisoners." The defendant was brought out and the plea deal that they had worked out was entered into the record.

The Judge asked him if he had committed the specific acts he was accused of. The defendant hemmed and hawed, and the Judge raised his voice to make him say yes or no. The defendant agreed, and the Judge read the facts into the record. Several times, the Judge said if there were no deal, he would be given a court date just like any other defendant, and he could try and make bail soon.

The deal: 1 year Social Service Supervision, restitution of 600 dollars to be paid to Social Services and which would go to the Injured Marine Semper Fi fund, to be paid by February 25th, 2008, and $50/month in supervision fees.

The Judge then, in as angry a voice as I have ever heard him use, scolded the defendant, saying that the Marine license plates the complaining witness had were not vanity plates or about ego, but the proceeds go toward the Marine and Navy scholarship fund for the children of fallen soldiers, sailors and marines. These Marines protect his very existence "so people like you can enjoy their freedom." He further said that the reason there were so many in the courtroom and so much public interest is that the Marines have a tradition since 1775 that "No Marine gets left behind." Several Hoorahs in the courtroom.

And then the deal was done, and he was taken away by the sheriffs to be released later.

BlackFive also thanked the CPD and CFD for their support of Marine Sergeant McNulty who is currently deployed. We're hoping that the ARDC complaints go the same way as this criminal trial did and Grodner has some sanctions against his law license. Maybe he even gets disbarred.

Head of felony review did not want to charge. It went to Milan and Devine, they both wanted to charge. Remember, Milan is running for state's attorney and needs to score political points.

We need to dig to the bottom of this. If Milan really was the one that pushed for the felony upgrade on JA against his Constitutional rights, this then we cannot allow him to get into office.

Regardless if JA is right or wrong, this matter could be very important to all of us. We cannot permit some asshat pol to ride our backs to higher office then slit our throats when he crosses the finish line.

We all have lots of friends and family members due to vote on the 5th of Feb. Now is the time to act!

OH LORD!!!
-----------------------------------
In a victory for Mayor Richard Daley's administration, a federal judge on Friday approved a controversial plan to allow a City Hall official -- instead of the independent inspector general -- to oversee the city's scandal-plagued hiring system.

U.S. District Judge Wayne R. Andersen acknowledged that critics have questioned whether the administration ever will keep hiring free of politics after years of abuses. Just last month, a hiring monitor appointed by Andersen found that the city had slipped backward in 2007 in cleaning up patronage.

But in siding with the mayor, Andersen said the city's plan contains "important safeguards" to make sure that jobs aren't awarded based on political considerations. "The city will be given an opportunity to show that the skepticism is ill-founded," Andersen wrote.

# # # OFF TOPIC # # #

Hi Guys,

23-year service (London) Metropolitan Police officer here. Found your blog from a link on a blog over here (www.inspectorgadget.wordpress.com if you're interested). Makes interesting reading. Glad to see your gripes and moans are virtually the same ones we have over here! Could someone spare a few mins to answer me these please? What do the following mean?
1)CAPS 2)FTO 3)SOS 4)TRU 5)TACT

Also - I know what clout means but is it really as bad as you people make out? What's all this "merit" promotion to sergeant and LT? (Over here you have to pass 2 exams and an interview board for both of these positions. This ensures, for the most part, that only the decent ones get promoted.

How long do you have to serve for a full pension and what is it? Over here we have to do 30 years for a pension of 2 thirds of final salary (for ref I take home about $5,000 per month basic no overtime. How does that compare?).

I'd be grateful for answers if anyone has the time. Oh, I've been a "Response" officer all my service.

OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC OFFENDER
(ALSA/ Association of Licenced Scam Artist)

Speaking of Lawyers, Sat. Trib has a story of two former Public Defenders who knew of a man's innocence for 26 years, said nothing and let him rot in jail. The most outragous statement was made by Dale Coventty, one of the PDs that kept quiet for 26 yesrs who stated "the procecution shuld put on it's WHITE HAT and get this innocent man out". Coventry and Janie Dunz, his scam partner, could have done this 26 years ago.

Since when does rules, made up by other scam artist to protect themselves, protect the guilty and prosecute the innocent. They had the key but they themselves elected to keep this innocent (of this crime anyway) in jail for 26 years.

Are these the same lawyers for Andrew Wilson, convicted of killing two Police Officers and whining that he was a victm of the Burge portable electric generator. Coventry and Kunz tortured an innocent man without using the alleged Burge generator and this tjorture has be ongoing for 26 years.

Judge O'Malley is my f'n hero!!!! Unlike his colleague next door, Judge O'Malley shows police officers respect. He tries to get every cop in the courtroom in and out & soon as possible. When shithead defendants automatically ask for the public defender, he grills them about why they aren't employed! It's great! He manages to say what everyone else is thinking but afraid to say out loud. Unfortunately, he's had some health problems in the past year, and I think retirement is in the not-too-distant future. There is no one that will be able to replace him!

Now that we are on the topic of Asswipe LAWYERS.... In Saturday's Tribune there is an article about two asswipe attorneys that let a man languish in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the last 26 years for a murder that was committed by the cop killing jagoff Andfrew Wilson. They even ahd the forsight to get Wilson tosign an affadavit admitting this. Attorney-client privledge or not this is OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE as per the statute. So When Alton Logan is released on a wrongful conviction, instead of suing the taxpayers of the City of Chicago he should be allowed to instead go after the personal assets and law firms that these 2 pond sucking jagoffs currently own. This is ridiculous that attorney client privledge can trump a criminal act........

London Calling!

To answer your questions:

1> Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy - probably the biggest boondoggle in the history of policing. Wastes millions of dollars on inside spots, citizen meetings, flyer programs and useless number generating that makes citizens feel they have input.

Also sarcastically used as "Citizens Are Police Servants" and "Consuming Alcohol Prevents Stress."

2> Field Training Officer. A program of high ideals and poor execution. To become an FTO you need to take a test, but then you lose your District of assignment, your watch assignment and your partner to train someone, all for very little money.

3> Special Operations Section. Currently the center of a number of very bad scandals and indictments. Disbanded late in 2007.

4> Targeted Response Unit. Subject of numerous jokes and nothing but a number generating unit. Movers, parkers, "mission" to suppress violence that pops up again as soon as TRU leaves. A bandaid solution to an on going problem.

5> Tactical Units. Officers supposedly chosen for plainclothes duty based on their quality and quantity of arrests. Sometimes true, often times not. Used ineffectively citywide for "quality of life" arrests (drinkers, pissers, bums and dope buyers) instead of long term investigations that lead to big busts and clearing of crime patterns.

Clout is worse than how we portray it. City gets 30% of supervisor spots for their people who only have to pass one test and no one knows what the criteria are for getting promoted, but it seems that sons, daughters and political contributions are the main qualifications.

20 years to be vested in pension at 50% of salary (but you have to be 50 years old to collect). An additional percentage (2.75% we think?) each year until it tops out at 75% for 29 years. Take home prior depends on government withholding and other obligations (taxes, deferred compensation, pension, family medical, etc.)

This just shows how much of a politician Dick Divine and his little sidekick Milan truly are. I'm not a fan of Daren O'Brien's judgement (of felony review), but he does know what will fly in court. This is just a political move to look tough against an off duty cop.
Maybe Divine will be able to get his son a meritorious or better yet the answers to the next Lt's test. While you and I have to work for a living, the chosen ones are given what's rightfully theirs. Politics ruins policing.

Isn't it interesting that the national Democart Party is so against proper identification of voters on election day. Gee, I wonder why?

We know the Democrats are all about stealing elections. A great part of their constituency is ineligible to vote (felons). It would behoove them to not have voters identified. They know they are screwed if the election process was on the up and up. They cant get any of their ideas implemented, so they do the end-around through the courts to get their socialist crap forced upon the regular citizens, who would never vote for them.

Not only do I think he still would have hammered the guy, I know he would have! You've obviously never sat in his courtroom on a "regular" day...Judge O'Malley doesn't let any defendant or his attorney run his courtroom (deciding when to arrive, etc.)...he does. And like a few previous posters have mentioned, unlike his colleague next door (Diboni), he doesn't put on a big crabby show & not follow-up. If you're late for court, you get locked up. End of story. He's just a class act.
