- Chicago Officer Indicted on Gun Charges
Sean P. Ryan is accused of selling a semi-automatic assault rifle to a gang member who is a convicted drug dealer. Ryan is also accused of selling that person four magazines of ammunition.
Investigators say this happened in December of 2005.
Ryan is a decorated officer. He has been relieved of duty.
We might be mistaken, but isn't this another clout-unit guy? And weren't there a bunch of questions a year or two back about him? And his unit? And his "sponsors"?

I work in a unit currently. It wouldn't suprise me for a minute that somebody from a unit would do something illegal like this.
I've never met so many people that I work with now that I didn't trust. When I worked in a dist you had alot more do nothings. One thing you didn't have was all the people who acted like their shit didn't stink and thought they were untouchable.
My opinion and my opinion alone. J-Fed should start with units for his house cleaning. Eliminate duplicative spots and clean out those officers with a certain amount of CRs.

Today 05 Feb 08, J.W. Made his way to 021 as part of his meet and greet tour.
He happened to show up on a 3rd Watch rollcall and during 2nd Watch checkoff. All officers present in the station were invited to meet with the Supe. Well, I was surprised to see that rollcall room was wall to wall with patrolman.
That's right Patrolman. All Supervisors were asked to step out.
He asked the troops about how they felt about the dept., their concerns, personal views and took into consideration a lot of great questions.
Here's some of the topics/concerns that were brought to light.
Amazing how everyone got the feeling that some Exempt members (who are really trying to kiss his ass and make themselves look good)at HQ who have tried to spoon feed him with what they wanted him to hear and limited the truth.
Ok, here are some of those topics:
- MORALE!
- EXAMS
- REEVAULATE MERIT PROMOTIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
- REEVAULATE HOW EXEMPT MEMBERS ARE PROMOTED/CONDUCTED AND THEIR
QUALIFICATIONS
- WASTED MANPOWER at HQ
- POLITICS/CLOUT
- BULLSHIT UNITS THAT WERE CREATED FOR "FRIENDS" THAT ARE DEPLEATING DISTRICT MANPOWER CITYWIDE.
- GANG TEAMS IN DISTRICT BEING PIMPED OUT TO OTHER DISTRICTS

While all this was taken place, all officers eyes were on the clout baby driver (one of Stark's Clout Babies) who just stood their in awww. "Gulp" While the other "Starks Driver" ran around 021 shaking hands.
The New Supe appears to be a true gentleman, and it's only fair to give this guy a chance to see if he could do what no Supe has done or has the Balls to do.
One thing he did say is, he has no ties to anyone here in our dept.
He was proud to say he put a stop to that bullshit swipe garbage order that went out behind his back.
We all got the feeling that he's on to the kiss ass scamming exempts that are trying to teach him the Old Ways of the dept.
Hopefully those days are soon to be over.

On another note, 8:11 this is not the "first recession in decades". Its not even the first recession this decade. That said, this very well may be something far greater than a recession. We are presented with deflation Japan-style (not depression-style, just Japan-style). Credit is drying up, and a lot of banks won't be lending to former credit-worthy customers no matter how low the fed reduces rates. Commercial credit markets fell off a cliff a few months ago, and they aren't climbing back up.

Licensee is any one with a valid License within that State (seeing that Illinois is the most gun hating state in the world we are the only ones with FOID cards) So in Indiana if you sell to a person with a valid identification whom you believe is not a convicted felon it is perfectly legal. In the Socialist Republic of Illinois if you sell to someone that has a VALID FOID card person to person it is perfectly legal. I have had my FFL license for years now so I know how this works.

Oh yeah, the shooting incident in 011 was nuts. We were a mile away and heard all of the gunfire. There were shell casings that continued for a city block. Let me introduce you to two guys who just spent the last 30 plus years in prison (thanks to the feds) for a murder charge they were innocent of. Sean is a very good cop to say the least. Yes Sean is a ballbuster but so am I and I think anyone around us was. I cannot believe for a second that Sean would do something that would hurt or kill a fellow officer. Sean has honor and integrity, that has seemed to fade on this job.
