Suburban Shooting
- One person was killed and three others, including two Burbank police officers, were wounded in a shootout Monday night at a motel in the southwest suburb, officials said.
One officer was shot twice in the chest, but the bullet did not penetrate his bulletproof vest, said Burbank Fire Department Battalion Chief Timothy Kaufmann. The officer also was shot in the hand.

The media refers to the OFFENDER as a suspect. If that had been a Chicago Officer shot , they would have referred to the piece of shit offender as a victim. Incredible.

Federal investigators have requested city records on four West Side zoning changes pushed by Ald. Isaac Carothers (29th), amid questions about Carothers' relationship with a Chicago developer who made secret recordings as an FBI mole.
Last year, Carothers' New 29th Ward Campaign Committee got $11,000 in contributions from Morgan Properties Inc., which lists FBI mole John Thomas as "manager."
The contributions came in payments of $9,000, $500 and $1,500, with the last one made on Feb. 23, 2007 -- four days before the aldermanic election, records show.
Last April 9, the committee returned all $11,000, offering no explanation in campaign records except "refund of excess contribution."
Carothers, the powerful chairman of the City Council's Police and Fire Committee, did not return calls seeking comment. He also declined to answer written questions.

2 cops hurt in Northwest Side crash

Two Chicago police officers suffered minor injuries Monday night when their squad car was hit by a sport-utility vehicle on the city's Northwest Side.
"It appears DUI [driving under the influence]-related," said Officer Amina Greer, who could not elaborate.
The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Belmont Avenue, said Greer.
The officers were treated at Our Lady of Resurrection Medical Center and released. The driver of the SUV, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, were she was reported in stable condition, Greer said.
The woman was driving west on Belmont in a 1996 Ford Explorer and failed to yield in making a left-hand turn, striking the eastbound squad car, Greer said.
No citations have been issued as of early Tuesday morning.
i hope the officers were professional and did not treat offender harshly. i expect a full investigation to make sure there was no police misconduct.hope the police were wearing proper uniforms.did anyone contact fbi or aclu.
There was also a car crash in 017 last night. Two officers pinned in the car and had to be extricated. God bless and a speedy recovery to all four of these heroes!!

This is by no means a "Dirty little secret." It has ben around since 1989. There is a bill pending in both the Senate and the House to give back earned benefits. The House bill s HR 82, and has many co-sponsors. A similar has been proposed in the last several Congresses, but it has always languished in committee, Ways and Means, I believe. It is worth writing some letters in support of it, to get it out of committee to the floor, where it will almost surely pass.
To the person asking about Father Tom CFD chaplain...he is doing well after surgery. He will be O.O.S for at least 6 weeks. But keep the prayers going.

Here are two officers that respond to a man with a gun. Verify with the motel that there are people in the room and there are no people in the adjacent rooms. Go up to the room and handle the job by themselves. Both 20 year vets.
There are only a very few mega-vets on this job who would have done this. The vast majority would have just coded out the job.

man i just watched the interview with jfed and he never said anything about pulling the list down you fucking tool, all he said was he was looking for was to make
the testing fair for the rank and file and less based on clout.

After hearing him at roll call when asked.....and then hearing him side step the answer on tv it is frightning. HE not once has said that the test are staying or that we need not to worry. First of all --- stay safe.
1. The smack down should be laid all the time to these idiots. Nobody wants to take these assholes serious. (I'm sorry but maybe 12th p.o.'s should learn to cross south of the viaduct more)
2. Theres gonna be a response for 2 weeks then everyone will forget about these assholes. Until they decide to do some other stupid shit.
3. Before everybody goes on ranting about how Pilsen is a ghetto, realize that for the majority, these people are hardworking people and there are just a few idiots that fuck it up for the rest of us. so please don't speak unless you actually work/live in Pilsen.
4. Realize that whatever neighborhood you call home- it's home and that various p.o.'s call Pilsen home. It is easy to say that P.O.'s who live in places like Pilsen, should move, but how about when Pilsen is all you know. When Pilsen is where you were born and raised?
5. It is not that we, in Pilsen, want to live this way, it is just that we want things to be different but they are not changing fast enough.

I thought he was chastising all the "I'm the real police types."
Example:
To all you "I am the CPD and we are the real police, unlike the suburb, types" Stuff happens in the suburbs too! That's how I interpreted it. He/she then goes on to say good job and we have your back!
See what a word here, and a comma there can do.

Sorry Burbank P.D. As you can see we have a plethera of idiots on CPD who could only get on CPD because the suburbs and ISP would not hire them. Unfortunatley we don't require a polygraph or have much hiring standards. If the above idiot and idiots like him would not act like a jagoff when pulled over, or not do anything to get pulled over in the first place, you would not have to worry. Good job by Burbank P.D., God bless the wounded officers and I hope for a speedy recovery.
