A little history lesson
This is a map of Mexico before the U.S-Mexican war. Later after the war two famous Civil War Generals wrote in their books that the war with Mexico was an unjust war a stronger nation against a weaker one. Maybe it's Manifest destiny payback after living in occupied territory for so long.

We all know the city is corrupt (I believe the mayor is Irish), the state is definitely corrupt (Stroge Jr hiring family and then giving them a nice raise while we can't even get a contract)it would be safe to assume that the federal gov. is corrupt. Years ago many europeans came to this country, applied for and achieved U.S. citizenship legally. After overhearing them speaking in spanish for about 10 minutes, I finally had to walk over to where they were and asked them, "are you having a conversation you don't want me to hear? Because if that's the case, why don't you just wait to go outside to finish it? It's kind of fucked up for two AMERICAN POLICE OFFICERS to speak in a foreign language inside of the Chicago Police training center. I guess they got the message, because they shut up and left. I don't care what people speak in their own homes, but when you're in a police facility, speak English!! Unless you're one of the people wiping down the toilets in the place for $8 an hour!!

Every time the immigration issue comes up it always stirs up the hornets nest. There has always been an immigration problem only in the past couple years has it been under the light. Our federal goverment has done nothing to curb the flow of illegals coming into this country. They build walls, and ICE has all types of high tech gear yet they still get in. When they get here most of them are hard workers who only want a better life for there families. They work shit jobs and shit hours some paying taxes which they will never receive, there only crime was to come here illegally. Ever since 9/11 the immigration issue has caused us to use the illegals as scapegoats especially people of Mexican decent. The U.S spends millions on the border fence with Mexico in the name of national security, but doesn't build a fence to secure the northern border. The U.S says the southern border fence is to keep out terrorists yet most of all the 9/11 planners came to the U.S legally with student visas. I don't know about you but if I'm a terrorist do you really think I'll be coming in from Mexico? What this country needs is a common sense immigration reform, grant those present without criminal activity a supervised, probationary means by which to gain citizenship based on support for educational and occupational paths. Don't pick up their tabs, but assist them in compliance and graduate them into citizenship. People bitch and moan about immigration, but what are we suppose to do about it? Brother, I nor no one I know has an issue with Mexicans or any Latin people per say. You are correct, many, most, are very hard working, very family oriented people. The only real problem is they want to bring the mexican culture here and ignore the American culture. Now, I don't know how much more clear I can be, Your culture is wonderful, your language is wonderful, many of your people are wonderful. However, for the United States to last another two hundred years we all have to remember we are a melting pot, not a tossed salad like some liberals like to claim. We all have to work toward making a better America. This means embrace the American culture. Of course celebrate your culture, of course have you holidays, just in doing so do not tear down or diminish America. When we see Mexican students flying our flag (yours and mine) upside down and under the mexican flag it hurts. Many of my family and possibly yours have died for that flag and what it represents. All we ask is that Mexicans and all immigrants strive to be Americans first. No one suggest you should abandon or deny, or stop celebrating your heritage..Why, please someone explain to me, why is that so hard to understand....

Your correct when you say Egypt was an advanced culture, and in re-reading how I phrased my statement, I was wrong and you are right. However, why can't you admit that no other place on this planet has contributed to the advancement of blacks as has the United States. Of course it is a mixed history, of course even in recent decades racism has flourished, yes many road blocks have been placed in your way. Nonetheless, is there another MODERN country that has done more for the black community? No. Don't you think it's time to stop blaming white America (not saying it's not our fault) and to start taking some responsibility for fixing things. Since Martin Luther King Jr there has not been a national black leader to speak of. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton hardly compare to Ida B Wells, Fredrick Douglas, Booker T Washington, or Phillip Randolph. The perpetuation of a victim mentality has caused far more harm the help. You know, almost every ethnic group has been on the losing side of slavery, bigotry, not just blacks. Even Barack Obama speaks with this frame of reference not to mention the absurd ramblings of Rev. Wright. You know being honest with one self is the beginning of change for one self. Oh, and sorry i haven't spell checked yet again so feel free to criticize, that is so helpful to your cause. I think half the black on black crime ended when you pointed out my errors, boy you showed me....

Ah, I see you went to the same public school as I did. You are correct that the signers were English but have you not heard of Van Steuben or Pulaski, both revolution icons. Also, Irish were fighting with the militias and I won't even start to explain my direct ancestor's roll in the revolution. Suffice it to say, we may all be drinking tea and saying "jolly good ole sport" if not for him. And then there's my Cherokee ancestors so I'm kind of here no matter what the argument..But there's plenty of room for diversity, let's just all be the same when it comes to being Americans, OK?

This is why it's so vital for 'ordinary' citizens to run for publicly elected offices.
We've been subjected to the insanities of professional politicians for generations, it's about time the intentions of our founding fathers are restored, those being the election of 'common' citizens to honestly serve the publics' interests.
It's not as impossible as it seems.
Determine the required number of signatures necessary for every publicly elected office, be it Executive, Legislative or Judicial.
Determine what other qualifications may be necessary, for a given elected office, then decide which one you have the best chance of getting enough voter signatures to gain a position on either the Democratic Primary Ballot or the Republican Primary Ballot.
If you can gather at least twice as many signatures as the chosen publicly elected office requires, you'll have a chance of surviving the inevitable challenge that each party's hacks will file against you.
If you succeed in gaining a spot on the ballot, then decide how serious you are about winning.
A win in the Primaries of either party, displacing the party hack incumbent, would garner publicity no amount of money could buy.
Those who doubt the possibility of a victory over the party's hack incumbents in either the Democratic or Republican Primaries can choose to run in the General Election as either Independents or under the auspices of a 'Blue Party'.
If law enforcement officers were to unite and form a 'Blue Party', choose the specific primary races thoughtfully, there is a decent chance that enough hack incumbents could be ousted to be the beginning of an authentic, 'grass roots' movement akin to that 'Boston Tea Party' so often quoted.
All that would be needed as a campaign theme would be a recommendation for voters to vote neither for corrupt Democrats nor for corrupt Republicans.
Since there is no substantial difference between these two parties, at least here in this city, county and state, both party hacks being proven professionals at wasting and stealing the taxpayers hard earned dollars, a third party candidate might be just attractive enough to win some offices in a general election.
What else is there to do, other than nothing?
