Three hundred anti-violence activists and Chicago Public Schools students joined local leaders in their fight for gun control this morning following the shooting death of an 18-year-old Simeon Career Academy student over the weekend.
“It’s up to the children to tell the adults to do what’s right,” Mayor Daley said while standing outside the Thompson Center next to 20 empty desks representing the 20 CPS students killed in shootings so far this school year.
As long as the children are parroting what the mayor and the "reverends" are telling them to say that is.
- Daley, who has blasted national gun laws as lax, reiterated that theme as students chanted and yelled encouragement.
Nationwide, twenty-two thousand gun laws on the books. This is laxity? We'd say it's more a case of hodgepodge reactionary stupidity by gun grabbers and their idiot followers.

I just thought it was ironic that this kid gets killed on Saturday because he either was failing from not going to school to maintain his playa status, or decided to get his G E Dana starks degree, then gets killed. I don't get it? Send the kids out to do their parents business. They do the shooting and they do the marching. While the parents are at home. Watching it all on TV, while smoking crak. Put the problem where it belongs. Have the kids march at home on their parents.
Why not conduct a background check on every CPS student? How about 60credit hours or 2 years of college? How about some military experience? Test them for intoxication on and off school time. Get the fatties working out and eating healthy. Have them list all the guns they possess or have knowledge of (registered and not registered). Check these students for residency. If they fight or argue with their family members, they should get stripped of the their student status and sent to school call back.

(Job, financial stability not government assisted, mature responsibility, residential, drug free and random tested for at least 16 yrs after the birth of their child, including child). Too tough? We're headed that way now.

Off the topic: I Am retired and was on my way home last night from a little side job when what I saw I thought I should share. As I was heading down Lawrence Ave. I saw 1620 pulled over to the curb. I looked to see who it was and its Fran Vergara. Im shocked. I continue on my way and I see 1630. Its Mary Chianuk. Now Im sick to my stomach. These two are supervisors in 016 on midnights? Having worked with both of them I know neither should be the police never mind supervisors. Mommy helped both of them. This department really is in the toilet. It must actually be scary in 016 on 1st watch with these two. Hopefully nothing major happens where these two must make a decision. Heaven help us. Residents/P.O.'s of 016 handle it yourself.

Arne Duncan should resign immediately, the Chicago Public School System is the laughingstock of the USA. Don't switch the "Real Issue" to gun control. You can't educate or maintain discipline over the savages and you don't know what else to do but blame an inanimate object,you loser.
I wrote a letter of protest to Francis Cardinal George in relation to Fr. Fleger's involvement in politics and race baiting. As a Catholic I am demanding that he immediately be reigned in or I am cutting off all of my Church donations. I will also write to the Vatican and am contemplating starting a blog on this subject matter.
It's funny (actually it's sad) when you white guys write about what to do about homicides and gun control in black neighborhoods.

The garbage about this is that they can only prove that some of these kids are just school age, it does not show that each and everyone of them attend school. these bangers and assholes are on a roll, I would say they'll hit above 50 or 60 by years end.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer has been charged in connection with an attack on his estranged wife.
Officer Donald Branch was on duty at the Englewood police district when he allegedly left his post and confronted his estranged wife at her home near 116th Street and South Elizabeth Tuesday morning.
Neighbors and witnesses say the 16-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department smashed the windows of an SUV, which reportedly belongs to the woman's boyfriend. He also allegedly attacked her and pulled a gun on her.
Officials are charging him with three counts of felony official misconduct and one count of domestic battery.
Besides facing a criminal investigation, the Independent Police Review Board has also begun a probe of the case.
Police say Branch was with his partner at the time of the attack. His partner has not been charged.
Branch is due at a bond hearing later today.

My son went to Taft for ONE semester. If he was 2 minutes late I had to go sign him in, and I worked at 51st and Wentworth at the time. but not the kids bussed in from the West Side, they could come 45 minutes late, no problem with that, momma wouldn't come to sign little Shawon or Dontrell in.
I started noticing that when my son came home he would run to the bathroom, every day after school. Why? He couldn't use the bathrooms at school, the West side shitheads took over the toilets and had dice games there and shook the neighborhood kids (white kids) down for their lunch money or else fucked with them unmercifully if they used the can. so either they became like West Side Willy or they never used the toilet and tried to hold on to their lunches and lunch money.
One semester, that was all, I did what I had to do but I got my son the fuck out of there and sent him to St Pat's where discipline was enforced, even on the black kids and tough shit if some kid didn't like it. At that time I had to work an extra job to pay his tuition, it was only a little over $3,000 a year but no way would he go to CPS that one semester sticks with him still, 16 years later. Oh he remembers well that semester with the bro's from the west side. Don't give me any shit about slavery, my grandparents came here from Europe in 1914, they never owned any, they just got robbed by a few.
Retirement is just a little bit more, not much longer, I can smell it, then this city will look so damn good in my rear view mirror.

I do not know the officer and can't imagine the pain from the loss of a child. Some of you may remember when I first brought up the issue of combat veterans failing the psychological testing of the CPD test?
Tomorrow at 1000hrs, the City of Chicago is going to have a special committee look into the claims of these combat veterans. Alds. Balcer, Caruthers and Rugai are going to field questions and fight for veterans concerning the class action lawsuit of combat veterans who were informed that they did not pass the "psyche" test.
You may not know this, but the CPD psyche test is graded by individuals out in California...not City of Chicago personnel. They have managed to prevent hard charging recruits in CPD testing from being hired by saying they are not psychologically qualified.
Back in November 2007, Mayor Daley specifically stated "Hire veterans"...Now, we are going to find out exactly how many veterans have been shunned away by the "psyche" test.
I urge each and every friend, family member and combat veteran to come forward if you know of a veteran who was told they didn't qualify because of the psychological testing. As of tonight's date, I am hearing of at least eight veterans in the lawsuit. I have also learned that CFD is having the same issue with their testing. This is unforgivable! Tomorrow is just the preliminary hearing, but it is also the start of correcting this injustice. Several veterans will address the committee concerning their notice of failure.

The office charged with reviewing the most serious cases of police misconduct is not yet able to keep up with a new six-month deadline to finish investigations because of several vacancies and a backlog of cases.
The Independent Police Review Board sent out letters this week to people involved in 82 cases. City Hall and the police union also were informed.
But the head of the office said she believes speedier investigations are possible—as soon as she fills vacancies and expands the office.

CPS teacher here....we also are required to have residency! And believe me, we know how bad it is. Discipline is a joke when there are no parents to enforce it at home...or better yet, parents who come up to the school and THREATEN THE TEACHER for attempting to discipline a child so that we can actually teach something to the decent kids. 80% of the day spent on discipline, 20% of the day actually spent teaching (and that's a good day...)
