Off topic, A retired PO from Springfield, MA was arrested at ohare today for uuw. The story is that he was screened by TSA at Harrisburg airport and allowed to enter the secured area with his unloaded and locked gun in his carry on luggage. YES TSA WAS NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY A GUN UNDER X-RAY He then went back outside the secured area for a smoke then, was re-screened again by TSA with his unloaded gun. AGAIN TSA DID NOT NOTICE THE GUN ON X-RAY. He then flew to ohare where he was arrested as he left the aircraft. Just think if he was al-qaeda or some other terrorist with a gun on the plane..WAY TO GO TSA MORONS. His excuse was that he mixed up luggage bags. A Chicago police officer was charged with official misconduct late Tuesday after he and his partner, while on duty, drove to his estranged wife's home and started a confrontation with her and her male companion, authorities said.
Donald Branch, a 16-year veteran assigned to the Englewood District, was charged with three counts of official misconduct and was in custody at the Calumet Area headquarters, prosecutors and police said.
Prosecutors later decided the partner was only a bystander and witness, sources said. The Independent Police Review Authority was investigating the incident, said Chief Administrator Ilana Rosenzweig. She declined to give details. The Police Department's news affairs office did not immediately provide details.

First off, the carnivals at the private schools are fundraisers to raise money for the school.They also don't need a whole Tac Team assigned to them to keep the opposing teams at bay. We already fund the public cesspool schools with our tax money.

He never made any arrests and he was dumber then a box of rocks. Apparently he was put there by someone above and the Tact Lt. was told to eat him .He was slow , ignorant , and his case reports were terrible , that's why his partner always made them out . and his partner was no brain surgeon either. I thought the homicide rate and shooting were going through the roof. But todays Trib said that the homicide rate as of 01 APR 08 was 88 and is down from last year, as well as violent crime.... what gives!!! Everyone on this blog is saying the numbers are up...Well SCC what happened to the 15% increase in homicides you said.
Actually most of the security is provided by off duty officers in the private school events. More officers than most tac teams. Any public gathering has rif raf attending, public or private. Here is the difference, no alcohol being served at this event. How many over served drunks do you deal with vs reg rif raf. Let's talk about private school kids running around in large groups, drinking, swearing at property owners, damaging property etc..... and this isn't during a carnival, this is every weekend. Whose kids are in the middle of Mt Greenwood Park during the summer drinking, smoking etc? Most of them are cops kids in private schools who use the may daddy or mommy is a cop angle to get out of trouble. In Mt Greenwood, the public schools get very little money because we are "so wealthy". Staff positions are cut every year and who pays for these necessary positions????? Fundraising by the school. Just because you pay your taxes, it doesn't mean it goes to our local schools. It is a shame your small mindedness cannot comprehend that they are just trying raise money instead of looking for a handout that they don't qualify for anyway. Raising taxes won't benefit our schools. it goes to inner city schools and programs.

hey new lt. in 011 1st watch....gonna deny time off cause we are down two cars???? be happy it's only two and not the usual 4-6 cars down. and great job.......
Aside from this "boss" sounding like a TOTAL jagoff, there was something in the last F.O.P. bulletin regarding TIME DUE being denied. They CANNOT use manpower as an excuse. Call the Union and let them know if you have not done so already.

The fop will not even answer their phones to call back or the 5 goofs never respond to email maybe they all need another smoke in their office of another case of beer!
