No cops hurt. Bad guy wounded. Gun recovered, but IPRA is still investigating.
And that's like the entire media coverage. No reverends, no community outcry, no family claiming he was just about to turn everything around and get that GED Brain Surgeon qualification that every family dreams of.
J-Fed has been a complete and utter bust, but this IPRA thing about not talking to the media is still working like a charm. We're constantly amazed.
UPDATE: Ok, the family is getting their bullshit on TV again. We were spending the weekend far from here and didn't get local news. Still, without the Department and IPRA going on TV with a standard canned speech, the whole thing dies out in a single news cycle. That still beats marches and replaying the same BS over and over and over and over. So far.

Scc.. please post the link to www.abc7chicago.com it is the biggest b.s. ever. the front picture and first story is this kid in his cap and gown. then they interview the family at the hospital who say that he was walking down the street with his 2 year old child and the police ran at him and shot him while holding his child. this is complete bullshit. i was there, i was on scene and this kid is a complete gang banging piece of garbage. even bigger garbage than that story by channel 7.
The mutt's mama was on the 10 o'clock news saying that her innocent was walking down the street carrying his baby and the cops shot him in the back for no reason. Sounds about right. Then, no shit, they showed his graduation pic, cap and gown and all. Probably from some short bus school.
Thank God the police are okay. Good Job to all the coppers involved. Keep up the good work. Fuck Mayor Dickhead Daley and Fuck his puppet J-Fed. Watch your back. On the 10PM news, the family has come out and accused the police of shooting their son in the back while he held his infant son. I mparticularly like the father expressing his displeasure at not being able to go up to his son's room at Christ Hosp. "You shoot him, and you still have to arrest him?"

I watched the 9:00 PM Fox News Sunday and their lead story was police shoot man in the back while he was holding a baby. The police then placed a gun next to him while he was laying on the ground. They then interviewed his mother who had had bright orange/red (I don't believe it was in honor of breadt cancer day)hair and she said he worked at UPS and was minding his own business when the police came and shot him in the back. It was the most vial, biased coverage of a police shooting I have heard in years. I then watched Ch. 5 at 10 PM and the coverage was normal for a shooting. Anyone who saw the Fox coverage please chime in.
IPRA good thing no media hounds because they get no answers except for the ghetto momma drama bullshit made up lying stories! where are the revs with their bullshit? maybe afraid Jody will look into all their ill gotten tax free money with his fed friends?

Every police officer should be like the IPRA and don't talk to the press. If you do your a rat chump helping them with their bullshit. If they can only get ghetto rats to talk eventually this dumb city will realize that they are one sided. The Fox News coverage was nothing short of a disgrace. It may have been the most biased piece of reporting by a news organization that I have ever seen.
Knowing that a number of reporters look at this website, how can you stand there and look at this without any degree of disgust? How about a story detailing the one-sided state of reporting in the city?
I know, I know, we (the police) would never do that, so why should the news organizations? Well, ask someone at IAD just how many CR numbers there are in which policemen complain against other policemen, and you might be suprised. Maybe, just maybe, news organizations in general will pick up a much greater degree of support if they were to do reporting in an unbiased manner.
When news organizations cover a police shooting, for example, it is fair for them to say that, "Police in xxx District shot a man after responding to a call of a man with a gun." When you start adding in the information about his families dubious claims of being an honor student, holding a baby, police dropping a gun near him, etc., you are crossing a line into the detectives investigatory process. You are not verifying facts before reporting them, and as such, in the eyes of the public, it is accepted as fact. I have yet to see any news organization issue a retraction concerning a man shot by the police in which they say something to the effect, "Mr. xxxx, shot by police officers, was in fact discovered to be firing a weapon at officers, necessitating their response of firing shots at him and hitting him."
Serious responses are welcome and encouraged.

was just wondering. why is it that they always show some graduation picture? i mean i know its only from 6th grade or something. but why always the cap and gown? cant it just be a regular picture of him standing on the corners with his gang? he could be holding up a joint to his mouth or just holding a gun. that at least would be more realistic or more up to date photo.

Another CPS Student Shot. Thats funny, 19 and he is probably a sophomore in a school system that will push him through after they teach him how to add welfare checks and crack/weed weighing. Maybe they can send him to the Agricultural school so he can learn how to grow, sell, and bag his own weed.
