Bigtime SCC,lets hope that the focused attention brings forth positive change within the CPD. They need to stop stripping,suspending and firing coppers for BS unfounded allegations to appease certain segments.

off topic: Good job to the 22nd district for apprehending an armed robber from gas station at 103 and kedzie. Apparently the mutt fled into the neighborhood and many units responded I heard A Lt. many sgts, Tac and Gang units and even the wagon in on the hunt, Well Done! Shit head apprehended and proceeds recovered, Hopefully he needed a trip to Hospital before he goes to 26 Cal.Thanks for protecting the Home front while I give survice to the ghetto.

I was at the Police Recognition Ceremony today.Jim Williams CBS 2 brought up the name of Martin Luther King. What does this have to do with the POLICE CEREMONY, absolutely NOTHING. Jody Weis in a police uniform?
I went to court at 26th street this morning and almost shit. County employees were out in front SWEEPING the sidewalk and stairs for R.KELLY. They were even cleaning out the planters and picking up cigarette butts.
Then it got even stranger. Some county moron boss ordered that the disabled ramp into the building be blocked. Crippled people actually had to crawl up the stairs dragging canes, wheelchairs, walkers, etc. to accomodate R.Kellys unobstructed passage into the building.
Your Democrat party in action.

The fact that this blog is constantly attacking the "Scum-Times" probably went a long toward getting this award from the Tribune!!!

This is great news, congrats! The more publicity SCC gets, the more Daley, Weis and their cronies squirm. Also, man is this city in for a rude awakening. Everyone I talk to wants to do the minimum in order to preserve their paycheck and freedom. Having the 10-15% of working police not be aggressive and proactive is going to have a massively negitive impact on crime (especially in the ghetto). They asked for it and they got it!

Supt. Jody Weis wears the uniform of a Policeman, yet he has never been spit on, or having to take off his uniform in the garage to avoid bringing roaches in the house, or had to park a block away and dredge through a foot of snow only to have people yell and bitch at you at some domestic, or stand toe to toe with some overgrown drugged out asshole and have to fight him, or be treated like shit at some house full of disfunctional family members, or basically dragged through the mud of bad press tainting your badge and uniform, or sit in a car sweating because the air is shit and you are out answering jobs all day, or be denied lunch because of backlog, or fall undr fire or chase a man with a gun,or accused of excessive force or verbal abuse, or some other BS, or eat on the hood of a squad car just to get something in your stomach as the streets go up around you with "celebrants" from various ethnic groups.
I have been wearing this uniform and have dealt with all of the above, They are either the best of this job or the worst of this job. Its years of memories. It just seems that throwing on the uniform as he does could NEVER match up with how we felt putting it on for the first time, starting from the BOTTOM, dealing with the city and being the Police. All the pictures of OW Wilson you see, never did he wear the uniform because he knew he was not the Police, he was an administrator.
I have nothing against the man personally because i do not know him. What I do know is that my Unifrom means a lot to me. I feel that I have earned it, and the respect that comes with it. It just bothers me.
Am I looking at this all wrong???

A classy honoring of the departed from this year and some from last.
For 017th Dist. personnel that knew Mark Lorenz a dedicated policeman a class act and always a nice guy......They showed his ID photo on the large screen with his name for several seconds along with other officers departed!
It was a nice gesture for all those officers to show that though some may never attain the departments highest awards nor may the see many other awards...It shows the respect the department has for the officers service by showing their mugs and names, during a truly memorable occasion!
God rest ya Mark and the other deceased and Great work to the rest of the men and women there today!

Thanks for taking me down memory lane. I have also been a part of all of the adventures you mentioned. Weis will never know what it is like to hold your breath until your ppo status is a thing of the past. He'll never know the proud accomplishments and tough moments associated with earning the right to wear OUR uniform. No, you are not looking at it all wrong. And think about this, you and I will be proud of our accomplishment long after this Weis guy is history. Stay strong.

I second that emotion. Thank you very much 022. Wonderful job. Mutt was apprehended a stone's throw from my dear relatives house. The heat was on and he was caught before he could further terrorize the hood with a home invasion and/or create an HBT incident. Thank you. It was heads-up work and I am thankful.

What nonsense..I've seen Ceasefire at two separate shootings in 006 and then no more..006 led the city with murders last year and jumped to the lead big time recently, with 8 in one week..But no Ceasefire...Maybe because they know 006 has no resources like the west side and therefore they won't be able to take credit for a reduction in crime here...Same kind of reporting like that about the blowup doll in the White Sox locker room. It sells papers but is not real or truthful news. What I don't understand:
As a law-abiding tax-paying citizen who believes they have a sense of justice, knows the difference between right and wrong and tries to demonstrate that everyday by the way I live my life and raise my family...with all the possible issues that pop up here at SCC, you would think that SOMEONE, anyone in the media would start investigating stories that would make people like me feel as if everything I do matters. Who are graduating from these journalism schools? Have they no connection to their grandparents or old school thought that they can't see what is happening right in front of them? Why doesn't the media want to address my values, which I believe I share with an entire generation of people who have worked hard, never asked for anything, paid my own way? Sometimes this blog is downright depressing because I have lived in the Chicagoland area my entire life and know that most of what is posted here is absolutely true. Am I the only person that has a sense of outrage at all the people who are leaning on the government, kissing someone's ass to get to the top and then owes loyalty to whoever paved their way? On one hand I feel like I am glad that I owe nobody nothing but am angry that I foot the bill for everything

I don't think anything much that the civilians post here can hurt us...we suffer far more injuries to our sacred profession by what some of our less than intelligent sworn brethren post here about each other, and officers who are female, black or latino. Bill Guswiler did not get "thrown out" at the State's Attorney's Office. He chose to resign rather than accept politically connected guys/gals as Investigators over better qualified people with no clout. He is an honorable man.
He was replaced by Ron Kelly. Both Guswiler and Kelly are longtime friends of Devine.
Kelly has been a good boss and a fair guy. He has no say whatsoever in who gets hired as Investigators. Since Devine took over it is a totally political job.
Wisdom on television: "If everybody knows about it, then everybody is going to do it!" Good job, SCC. Thanks for giving the troops (end even a few old bosses) a chance to vent.
