- At Reason Magazine, we recently took a look at how the 35 most-populous cities in the United States balance individual freedom with government paternalism. We ranked the cities on how much freedom they afford their residents to indulge in alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sex, gambling and food. And, for good measure, we also looked at the cities' gun laws, use of traffic and surveillance cameras, and tossed in an "other" category to catch weird laws such as New York's ban on unlicensed dancing, or Chicago's tax on bottled water.
The sad news, Chicagoans, is that your town came in dead last. And it wasn't even close.

As Daley proclaims, Chicago is "the city of children". The arrogant crook and his rubber stamp city council regard ALL OF US as children with the Emperor Richard II as our "nanny" and diety.
And yet these corrupt cocksuckers get reelected.
As for visitors praising Chicago's architecture and beauty, they'd best confine their travels to CPD districts 18 and 1. Go west and south, they'd quickly change their tune lest they end up in the morgue.

Mumbles doesn't have a clue. Never has. Never had to worry about what hard working Chicagoans had to. Never had to buy gas because he's been driven around; never had to worry about security because he's surrounded by CPD twenty-four-seven. Hell, the guy never even had to worry about getting a job or passing school. He lives in an artificial world paid for by Chicagoans and thinks we should all live in his fantasy world.
Daley is not about being a nanny. he is about fleecing the tax payers. He has to funnel honest people's money to the dishonest.

I have one for the blog.
Saturday morning about 4 I went fishing at Montrose Harbor. The perch were in and the season closes 1 July. It was fairly crowded and some old timers were there all night.
It was dark when I parked my car and when light hit I saw the tow trucks. There was some sort of race to be held at 0900 hrs and they were clearing the street. The signs were small and on each light pole. I was lucky as I got to my car before they towed it.
Is the City that desperate to tow cars from a bunch of old guys, dads taking their kids fishing and working stiffs ( saturday)?
I worked a million fests before I retired and when the Police ran it- tried to avoid that- loudspeakers , etc.
What a disgusting move .

Not to diminish how thoroughly incompetent the midget has been, in more ways than any single person can imagine or know, but he had plenty of help.

3. The similarly corrupt county and state cocksuckers who have been, are, and will, if reelected, continue to be, active participants in said corruptions.
4. The whore 'news' media, an oxymoron if ever there was one, who, but for the advent of the Internet, would still be able to bullshit the general public so completely that it leads one to think people enjoy swallowing shit.
5. The wholesale cooperation of those who purport to be our religious leaders, no different, and as egregious and heinous as, the aforementioned cocksuckers.
6. Each and every parent who, as they raise their offspring, fail to speak the truth, whether verbally or by example, about the ideals we must all aspire to, if we are to truly be a free nation of free individuals respecting the rights, and responsibilities that those rights depend upon, of all.
7. The consistent failure of many to live by the Golden Rule, 'Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You', but instead, live by the rule of 'do unto others before they can do unto you', said rule being the example our elected 'leaders' are teaching our children every day.
We have met the enemy, and it is us.
It’s a shame we keep letting “them” do it to us. Can’t smoke in a Chicago bar…joke. I feel the government should tell me why I should not do something, not tell me I can’t. Ok sheep drinking, smoking and fun of all kinds are not allowed. Dam-it this is a family city, no vices what so ever. Remember every bar has a parking lot or street parking so what the hell drink then drive, but Jesus don’t smoke, the children, please remember the children. What a fucking joke Chicago is, no longer the city I grew up in loved so much. The character is gone, fucking yuppies that moved in, in droves from the suburbs have helped ruined Chicago, fucking dog walking, bike riding, jogging, over priced coffee drinking, SUV driving (now scooters), self important, self righteous, weird fucking assholes go back to Winnetka or Schaumberg or were ever the fuck your from and take that asshole of a Mayor with you.
The biggest problem is the chief executive. He believes he's the King, not the Mayor. Example: The destruction fo Meigs Field. In spite of an agreement in place to keep it open while negotiations were to take place, he bulldozed it in the middle of the night. Reason: Safety.
Let me give you a little tip mr. littledick mayor, a plane could take off from California and still wreck havoc on the city. If your argument about safety was valid, you wouldn't have had to do it under the cover of darkness.
The real reason the littledick got rid of Meigs Field was so Maggie wouldn't have to listen to the airplanes. So this littledick asshat wastes all the money and resources to make mrs. littledick happy. Sounds like a King to me.
I hope you have a stroke littledick....not on par with Stroger's, just enough to make you step down.

Just a note about who pays A LOT of the taxes in the city. I have worked in a lakefront district for many years and have seen it go from urban decay to new construction and the skyhigh taxes that are assessesd to those condos and lofts, single family homes. OK maybe a few of the yuppies are a bit snooty, but I can tell you that they have stopped me on the street to thank me for the job we do with this city. They were the ones who brought the neighborhoods back that were DOOMED. If they love Chicago, we should thank them, because who else will pay our taxes and salary? Maybe the thugs or the unemployed masses? Well just remember that they work 9-5 and also spent their inheritance in this city which made it a better place to live. I would take a yuppy for a neighbor anyday before I would enjoy a thug with drug dealing families and their violence. Remember what I said when you get paid on the first and the sixteenth. The yuppies arent the ones on the news BLAMING the police for THE killings and violence in the crime-invested hoods in Chicago. AMEN

Anyone who can get the required number of valid registered voter signatures for any given elected office, survive the inevitable Board of Elections' challenges and get their name on the ballot.

This blog alone could generate enough publicity to give a non-politician candidate a shot at many city and county elected offices, especially in electoral areas where a lot of officers live and, presumably, vote.
Don't hold your breath waiting for the Republicans to grow the balls needed to challenge the Democrats' dominance, indeed, it seems more likely that the Republicans have cut a deal to leave this city to the tender mercies of the Democratic Machine.

Hi I am a CPD Brat I must say that this city has changed for the worst i rember growing up and what a great time it was to be a chicago resident especially the son of a CPD officer. We used to be able to perch fish at the filtration plant, The taste was practically free for us and no body fucked with the police bring back Jane Byrne fuck Dailey I truly regret the state that the city is in and the total disregard for the police.
