Not My Church Anymore
We can't recall anyone ever throwing an entire church under the bus before, but Obama manages to do it:
- Severing more than two decades of ties to his spiritual home on the city's South Side, Obama said he made the decision for his own political needs and in an effort to allow the church a return to some normalcy.
"This is not a decision I come to lightly, and frankly it's one that I make with some sadness," he said at a hastily arranged evening news conference in Aberdeen, S.D.
With the national media finally noticing the way things are done in Chicago, this isn't really a surprise, only surprising it took so long. And there's still more to come. Like this little tidbit:
- One of those long-time supporters was Rev. Michael Pfleger, the politically active leader of St. Sabina Church. He gave Obama's campaign $1,500 between 1995 and 2001, including $200 in April 2001, about three months after Obama announced $225,000 in grants to St. Sabina programs.
Certainly this wasn't a quid pro quo? It certainly looks and smells like a kickback.

Sadly, its not viewed as a big deal when a local policician belongs to a church like Trinity. However, the national stage is a lot different. I really don't think Obama ever thought he'd be on the presidential stage when he joined, and now its coming back to bite him.

As a fairly devout Catholic, I'm all for the idea of no $$$ in Sunday Mass tithings until Cardinal George and His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI do the right thing with Pfleger.
The Church's stance on illegal immigration, "safe" loving premarital sex (not promiscuity), birth control, masturbation and clergy pedophilia have already pushed me to the brink of praying and worshipping Jesus Christ and Mother Mary on a personal basis without human interference.
I am not challenging papal infallibility, just the hypocrisy.

"They want to kill me," Pfleger told parishioners during a service in a St. Sabina Church chapel on Chicago's South Side. "It's been very ugly."
During his Sunday sermon, he read a statement to pews packed with worshippers.
He says he isn't a racist or a sexist and says the last few days have been "the most painful days" of his life....

PORTLAND, OR – Police officers in Portland, Oregon, are still waiting for an apology from Barack Obama after campaign staffers of his recent rally in Portland, Oregon, setup porta potties directly on top of the Portland Police Memorial, which honors the agency’s 25 fallen police officers.
The Obama rally drew a crowd of over 75,000 people.
Officer Thomas Brennan, who was working overtime at the rally, took a picture of the offending toilets, with the American flag still at half mast because of Police Officers Memorial Day, directly behind them. The local law enforcement memorial service had been held at the site only five days earlier.
Despite a large amount of open areas in the vicinity, the campaign staffers claimed the toilets were placed on the memorial for safety reasons to accommodate wheelchair access.
The Obama campaign has not responded to requests for an apology.

I am a woman, the news media said they were bothered by the reactions of the church, they were stomping at the defeat of racism. I disagree. I was taught that you never,ever let someone get back into their vehicle once you stop them. I know Sean Bell was walking to his vehicle from the bachelor party;all patrons had to be searched before entering the lounge. Even the undercover cops were searched before entering. Therefore if those officers believed there were guns inside of the car,why would you allow them to get into the car? I guarantee that if I jumped onto the hood of your car at 2:00AM after you left your drinking spot you would attempt to drive away too.
