Saving Taxpayers the Trouble

  • A Peoria-area man who had bullied his small town and was sentenced to death for the 2002 murders of three people apparently committed suicide over the weekend, prison officials confirmed Monday.

Curtis Thompson, 66, of Toulon, Ill., was discovered hanging in his cell Friday night in the Pontiac Correctional Center. Illinois Department of Corrections spokesman Derek Schnapp said the death is being investigated by the department and by Illinois State Police.
If we could just make prison a little more dark, we'd be in good shape.

They're= They're going to kick his ass!
It is a contraction to shorten THEY ARE.
There= I saw him hide his rocks over there.
There is used to describe a place.
Their= Their rims cost 4g joe.

After a night of revelry, the folks in the hamlet of Toulon will sleep well tonight.

In all fairness to John Thomas' family, his wife did not want a wake. She did not want the public display of her husband. It was the higher ups in the city. She wanted a private family affair.

She found his body when she came home from her job. Can you imagine what she felt, and then a couple of times in this blog someone has left a negative comment about John Thomas. Maybe he wasn't your ideal boss, but his family didn't want a public affair made out of his death. Yes, he didn't need a fund raiser held in his honor, but knowing his wife as I do, she didn't want to participate, it was his bosses that put on the party.

Remember he left a family behind and they have feelings too.

6/09/2008 06:17:00 PM

What does that have to do with his family getting the benefits another police family cannot get?

We're not criticizing the public funeral of Thomas but the fact that he received line of duty death benefits while dying off duty in his home. Let's see if your family can get that if you pass away before you retire.

Especially when you consider that the department requires a college education to be hired now. What does this say about our colleges and universities? I'd say the whole United States of America is in trouble lately.

On top of that a benefit for your daughters college fund will you're collecting 1st Deputys Salary?

As long as we are teaching grammer: Everytime you state in your report "R/o's" you are stating singular possession of something. Example, this is the R/o's pen. If you are talking about what you and your partner did it is "R/os". A apostrophe shows possession. Don't look stupid on paper like we often do.

Ok spelling nazi. Sometimes when you type/or write your fingers subconsciously spell out the word you "hear" your thoughts read out as it's composing it's letter.
Give the public some credit. Do you know what makes us appear dumb?
Volunteering to walk in front of moving traffic to see if some fool is going to stop at a crosswalk. Yes, that my friend makes you look dumb!
Joe Q. Public cannot spell any better or worse than our police dept. We do hire from the pool of citizens out there.
The school systems in the city and suburbs changed their curriculum at least 15 yrs ago when it comes to having to spell properly. It became acceptable to phonetically sound out words instead of learning the proper spelling and context of them.
Now we are reaping the consequences of a system that would rather get the federal funds for passing you through, than to be concerned about how educated you
became over a 12 yr period.
Ok I better stop before I sound as preachy as you. ( too late )
Peace.

Oh, bite me, you condescending jerks. Typing on a blog is hardly the same as completing an official document or a formal research paper. It is an informal forum for venting. Did you ever stop to think in your arrogant little brain, that some of the misspellings are intentional, misspelled to be humorous or otherwise?

If you do not like to read comments made by others, complete with errors, intentional or otherwise, then don't read the blog. Besides, it was shown years ago that spelling, or misspelling, is not always indicative of the writer's level of overall intelligence. For goodness sake, Einstein couldn't even tie his shoes! So there, take that!

Some of the most intelligent people I've met in my life and career, have been Chicago Police Officers. And some of the most arrogant people I've met in my career have been idiots that thought they were smarter than the police. The idiots usually acquire a new title, convicted felon!

And I've paid this compliment many times over the years to some very intelligent police officers; If I was a bad guy, he/she is the one I wouldn't want coming after me because they are too smart and they won't let go!

They do not deserve it and it is an insult to all of us and especially to those whose stars are represented in the Honored Star Case. What gives them the right to wear the uniform we worked so hard for. What gives them the right to wear the uniform that has been stained with our tears, fears, dreams, and all too often our blood or the blood of our brothers? Who are they to wear the uniform of our fathers, our uncles, our heroes? We, I, have allowed our uniform to be dishonored! More to come! Please read Part 1.

I dont care if they want to give him line of duty pension but then everyone who dies off duty should get it not the selected ones.

Well put. Why dont people use this as a precedent with the pension board to fight for these benefits for all police officers. No these keyboard cowards come on here and talk shit about a good man with a good family.

P.S he didn't line of duty benefits it was performance of duty

I guess its easier for you people to hide than it is to stand up.
