Yep, Happened in 17 around 8:30pm. 17 car chased suspect up and down alleys and warned of a gun in car. Ended in 20 with suspect firing shots at the police who responed in kind. Nobody hurt except the suspect.

Was at the California & Peterson Dunkin Donuts about 10PM, saw a half dozen squad cars go screaming by, all went southbound on California.
Less than a half hour later, 3 marked cars and one unmarked came sedately back up California, no sirens or lights, the whole procession proceeded to run the stop sign at California & Thorndale, right under the watchful eye of the pod.
Speaking of which, who got the CPD to finally turn off the freaking blue strobes on the Mather Park pod? Thank you, whoever it was.

Police shooting on North Side under investigation
Tribune staff report
10:43 PM CDT, August 25, 2008
Chicago police shot a person who ran after officers tried to stop the person's vehicle Monday night on the North Side, police said.
The shooting occurred at about 9:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of North Washtenaw Avenue in the Lincoln Square community, police said. The person was taken in serious to critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police and fire officials said.
Police said a weapon was recovered at the scene. The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the shooting.
No further details were available.

For all of you coppers out there who dog ass it every day: never make a pinch (unlessed forced to do so), never write a ticket, and never take a job that isn't assigned to you, I don't give a rat's ass.
However, for all of you piece of shit want to be coppers that don't show up on another coppers job when they are looking for an assist or are need in backup: Quit now before you get one of us killed!!!!
The other night, Sunday to be exact, there was an incident in the 008th District in which a copper was responding 99 to a burglar alarm. Not that big of a deal, we have all done it a hundred times. Understandable, there was no one else on the board available. However, there was a midnight beat car stopped at the light simply 2 blocks from where the 99 copper was assigned. Not only that, but the copper actually waved to them as he passed (with no response of course).
Once on scene, there were signs of possible entry, so at this point the copper called for an assist. Not a single midnight officer responded, although another 99 midnight officer did show up. So to give a little peace of mind, a afternoon came up that was on the other side of the district to assist.
Yada yada yada. The key part of the story is this, the coppers that were sitting at the light two blocks away, never came over air for assist, never showed up, never did anything to back up the 99 officer.
However, they did manage to go down on a traffic stop directly up the road from the officer 5-10 minutes after he had called for an assist. NICE WORK YOU SORRY EXCUSES FOR POLICE!!!!
I say all this to say: I don't care if you have never met each other, I don't care if you hate each other, I don't care if they are on another watch or in another district. If another police officer calls for an assist, all else is null and void. That 2 hour battery report you have been doing put it down, that 45 minute gang disturbance you have been on leave it. Help out each other and that is only thing that matters.

Textbook traffic pursuit. No one came up on the air saying stupid comments. 1750 was the lead car and he was very precise on where he was and which direction he was going. I thought the help from 020 was awesome as well... thanks 2022. It's nice to know that when it gets really serious out there everyone is professional and there to assist.

The other night my Sgt in 007 asked me if my morale was low or if I just didn't like doing work.
My response was that I like to do work and would like to make some arrest and write some movers but it is hard to do work here in 007.
He asked me what I meant by that and I told him that I am waiting for some white people to break the law either in a car or on a street corner.
He told me that it was going to be hard for me to find that.
And I told him that I don't want to be accused of racial profiling so I will not be doing anymore work til I get me a whitey so that I can even out my numbers.
In the mean time I will be writing NO MOVERS

Started in 016 from a car jacking. subject attempted several armed robberies etc. 017 sgt. spots car. chase is on. ends in 020. subject (now very dead) jumps from car, fires 6 shots at coppers who responded with a ton more! no loss. guy is a felon gypsy. If you really want to know, that is the kind of clown shit 'the media' has no choice but to write because when you ask a cop what happened, they say, inevitably, 'F-you' or "News Affairs!' Then you call the people who you are suppsoed to call and when you ask them a direct f-ing question, such as, oh, i don't know, "did the bad guy shoot at the police?" you get an answer like "well, the suspect was at the scene and weapons were possibly recovered but we can't say, per se who the weapons were recovered from and the matter is being investigated."
And don't even ask us about trying to get any answers, let alone a straight one, outta Ms. Skeletor!

recalling the incident you speak of I specifically remember the officer waving off any help, and I gurantee you if someone called for an assist for a possible burglary on midnights at least 2 cars showed up especially in that sector. listen there is no one dogging jobs on midnights. well maybe one car but he a true old timer what do you expect. what are you really upset about? did the call come out about 1 and instead of sgt s. calling you guys in for reports you had to stay till 120. how about this where are you guys when we call for help it better not be after 1230 because your nowhere to be found. in your case I guess it doesn't matter if we know each other. what matters is if it interferes with your nightly duck. you must feel this is owed to you. where you one of those tru dumps?

The other night, Sunday to be exact, there was an incident in the 008th District in which a copper was responding 99 to a burglar alarm. Not that big of a deal, we have all done it a hundred times. Understandable, there was no one else on the board available. However, there was a midnight beat car stopped at the light simply 2 blocks from where the 99 copper was assigned. Not only that, but the copper actually waved to them as he passed (with no response of course)......
I also recall the incident briefly we were tied up on our own mess .... Like the other person posted, you weren't calling for help. It was an open door for Christ sake! Are you serious? You call it in and when help comes it comes. I mean you weren't in any imminent danger were you?
Regarding any dog ass in 008... we have (just like your watch)our share. I would be a liar if I said different. So while you brought it up... all the rapid cars on third watch who are on TVB's for an hour and a half in 008 and who have battery report for two hours when you are really hanging out inside of marquette park....oh then comes lunch. And who the hell is on that rapid car that 850 calls in every single night to come "see him" so they can leave early! But whatever, you do what you do but then don't come on this blog and then accuse 1st watch of being dog asses. Oh and by the way, even with all this being said, we still will back you up when you really need us.....cause that's how we roll!!008 1st watch.
