Missing the Point
Once again, the narrow minded liberal trolls miss the point of our posting. (As a side note, it's amusing and sad at the same time how leftists, liberals and assorted loons demand tolerance and chances and all sorts of crap once their guy gets elected, but gave none of that same consideration to the right for 8 years. Rank hypocrisy.)
But what we were pointing out in yesterday's post was that 100 bodies detailed out of Districts to downtown and Hyde Park wasn't that Obama didn't deserve protection or that taxpayers were eating the costs of the detail. It was that 100 cops out of where they're supposed to be is shortchanging many people who deserve (and even don't deserve) police protection.
We don't doubt for a minute that Daley is going to try to get reimbursement from the Federal government. He always does. But are the taxpayers who are actually paying the price, living in a backlog, going to set refunded their lack of police protection? Remember, they aren't allowed to have guns to protect themselves in the event our response time is a bit slower than it would otherwise be.

i'm kind of confused by you SCC. the minute obama was elected you attacked him but left bush alone for 8 years. you're an intellectual SCC. it kind of upsets me that you lean so far to the right. any intellectual is neither left or right, but can see the sides of both. a lot of the stuff bush did was just plain DUMB. and if any lefty did half the things he did you'd be all over him.
i dunno... it upsets me, because i'm going to say it again, you're an intellectual. you're not like other coppers. it's refreshing...

Actually, sparky, an intellectual looks at both sides and can make a determination which one is right and which one is wrong. These days, the left is wrong. It's the pseudointellectual who claims to be able to see both sides and "tut-tuts" those who disagree with him without being able to back up his crap.

hey 143am, just a little info abou MANY coppers on CPD. MANY have degrees from higher instituitions of learning. MANY are probably much more educated than YOU. The problem with people like you is all you know is whats reported by the liberal media and what you learned from your liberal college professor. My question to all liberals on here is this, Why is it that when you have a belief or opinion its ok to spew it on everyone, and wear it on your shirts and profess it out loud every chance you get, yet when someone has a differing opinion you simply call them uneducated or narrow minded. I personally came on this job 10yrs ago and had never once voted for a republican being that im from a union worker type of family. However after 10yrs of seeing how things truly are out here I realized that the last thing i want to do is vote in another democrat who is going to most likely give MORE social services and free govt money to people that LEAST deserve it. Like it or not, NO group(race, religion, ethnicity) has been given MORE in our countrys history than the african american community. Slavery ended in the 1800's we are in 2008 yet they still seek reparitions, they still site slavery when they talk in conversations. EVERY other group that has come to this country has been able to, over the course of 20-30 yrs WORK their way to earn the respect of Americans, yet african americans CONTINUE to blame everyone else for their problems. This is a free country. Last time I checked the chicago public school system is FREE. I could take every single kid from a surrounding suburb and put them in CPS schools and all of a sudden people would be saying how GREAT chicago schools are because the test scores would rise dramatically. Put these non working city kids in new trier and new trier quickly has the lowest scores in the state. This is not rocket science. Its about work ethic, which is taught by PARENTS not teachers. If they(african americans) choose not to take a roll in their childs life and get out of the ghetto then why is that the white mans fault? Parents have to WORK to show their kids how to do it, yet MOST in the ghetto choose disability or unemplyment or ssi. That sends the wrong message, but its easier to stay home and get a check than go to work and get a check. My father worked construction for 20yrs before moving on to an inside engineers job and worked 7 days a week to send his kids to school. If you want to make it in this country you can, but they simply choose to ride the free train. Until liberals wake up and realize the truth, nothing will ever change. Kids continue to be raised by uncaring parents and the cycle continues. You can say im racist, but i say im a realist. And i VOTE CONSERVATIVE!

Here is the story, my Lawyer Husband, IRA and I went to the Obama rally. I left early because my hign heal shoes were killing for size 4 feet's.
Listen people, Ira stayed and did not come home until the next morning at 0600 hrs. He also smelled of "Charlie" perfume.
Since the rally Ira has been not coming home until 0300 to 0400 hrs.
