What an amazing first week of pre-presidency! First up, insult the widow of Ronald Reagan:

It's us , local law enforcement, FBI,CIA,etc. We are not part of the armed forces and therefore are not military thus making us civilian. He's calling for better funding of these agencies such as bringing back the Biden Law Enforcement Act which put 100,000 officers (by the way if you were hired between 1994 and 2004 more likely than not you were hired using these funds which ran out in 2004) on the street and C.O.P.S which gave more monies to local agencies to increase their technologies. So to everybody wondering why all of the sudden we stopped hiring, it's because we stopped getting federal dollars in 2004. So what happended to the money that was already budgeted for the police? look no further than your neighborhood street, nice looking flower pot medians.

It was the democrats, "Carter, Barney Frank,..., who strong-armed the banks into making loans to unqualified borrowers. Then when signs of trouble emerged and McCain attempted to have closer oversight of Freddy Mac and Fannie May, it was Barney Frank who thwrated it saying everything was ok .
It was the democrats who refused to allow drilling off the Gulf Coast and other areas of the country, necessitating more imports of foreign oil from our "friends" in the middle east, thus causing us to be at the will of O.P.E.C. and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Higher oil prices means higher gas prices, which means more of our income is spent on filling the tank or heating our homes. Most of the goods we buy gets to their final destination of the store-shelf by truck. Fuel cost increases get passed on to us, the consumer, in higher prices for these goods.
The Automakers now want to be bailed out . They are crying poor because of the slump in sales. Credit market has tightened up, consumers are spending less money buying goods, cars, washing machines and whatnot, and that part of their income is going for food and fuel.
Don't give me that President with an M.B.A. bullshit, these problems were caused by Democratic policies, now a Democrat can try to fix them. Yes, good luck correcting these "mistakes". I won't hold my breath.

Thirdly this Poland situation concerning the missle defense system is being blown out of proportion. The technology is shaky at best. Everytime it's been tested it's failed. The Pentagon published it's report on the shield calling it unreliable and unstable. Obama has always said if it's proven to work he would back it but so far it hasn't worked.
Man, can't we just give this Presidential Election stuff a rest, just for a week? Obama's in, it's a fact, and doesn't take office till 09, so he will get his chance to sink or swim soon enough. How about a short break from all this stuff?
Why doesn't OBAMA have any SSI or disability check receiving folks punch a clock once in a while throughout the year and EARN their checks they get for doing nothing!
Punch the clock as they DO COMMUNITY service or help the needy or elderly in shelters or nursing homes. Go clean the parks or do some light "litter pick ups in their neighborhood monitored by the Aldermans office.

SSI is an acronym for Social Security Insurance.
When a contributor, ie., an employed citizen who has contributed through payroll deductions, and matching contributions of their employer, becomes disabled, by disease or injury, they receive benefits corresponding to their level of contributions to date. The number of people gaming the SSI system for "disability" is overwhelming. (Many have NEVER been employed, yet receive benefits)
My wife lost a leg to cancer, underwent a year of chemo, and as soon as physically possible returned to the work force (within 4-6 months of completing treatment)
Within a year she was holding down 2 jobs.
One of which was performing medical tests for SSI disability applicants (Pulmonary Function tests, EKG, etc.)
On multiple occasions she witnessed applicants CARRY their walkers into the building and then slowly creep into the office for exam.
Also, having "asthma" doesn't preclude somebody from having a desk job.

Minors receiving SSI benefits have one job....TO GO TO SCHOOL. Any attendance issues should have an effect on the receipt of benefits. Miss school, miss money.
The "disabled" parent is not working so his/her JOB should be to ESCORT THE KID TO THE SCHOOL DOOR.
By the way, many SSI "disability" recipients receive LINK and section 8 assistance as well. The kid has the opportunity to eat 2 meals in school, that's 2 meals less to pay for on the LINK card.

Because, if he were, he'd be criticizing fraudulently approved benefit recipients, not genuinely disabled SSI recipients.
It's the fraudulent abuse that's worth criticizing, not the entire SSI program.

It was the democrats, "Carter, Barney Frank,..., who strong-armed the banks into making loans to unqualified borrowers. Then when signs of trouble emerged and McCain attempted to have closer oversight of Freddy Mac and Fannie May, it was Barney Frank who thwrated it saying everything was ok .
It was the democrats who refused to allow drilling off the Gulf Coast and other areas of the country, necessitating more imports of foreign oil from our "friends" in the middle east, thus causing us to be at the will of O.P.E.C. and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Higher oil prices means higher gas prices, which means more of our income is spent on filling the tank or heating our homes. Most of the goods we buy gets to their final destination of the store-shelf by truck. Fuel cost increases get passed on to us, the consumer, in higher prices for these goods.
The Automakers now want to be bailed out . They are crying poor because of the slump in sales. Credit market has tightened up, consumers are spending less money buying goods, cars, washing machines and whatnot, and that part of their income is going for food and fuel.
Don't give me that President with an M.B.A. bullshit, these problems were caused by Democratic policies, now a Democrat can try to fix them. Yes, good luck correcting these "mistakes". I won't hold my breath.

"Companies" are the people that own them, they are not the ethereal taxable commodity that liberal democrats love to demonize. If the companies don't have significant "profits" (another liberal dirty word) the owners/investors are not going to continue to allow the companies to exist, and all those employed by same will lose their source of income. I am a member of a union, I believe in unions to a certain extent, but the bottom line is, when radical unions price their companies commodity out of the market, such as the UAW, with unrealistic wages and benefits for completely unskilled labor, the companies don't sell the product, and the economy suffers.
