But promoted? To one of the more sensitive spots in the Department?
- The newly appointed acting head of the organized crime division for Chicago Police has been dropped from consideration for a top police job in Arizona because of inconsistencies on his resume.
- Officials from the city of Buckeye [AZ] did not return calls late Friday.
- Peterson [CPD deputy superintendent of investigative services] refused to discuss Brown's job application in Arizona or whether officials knew about it.
Something stinks around this whole process. Buckeye city officials flew all the way to Chicago to check out portions of this resume and then fled back to Arizona as quick as they could, leaving a flurry of dust and "No comment's" in their wake.

A police officer shot and killed an armed man Saturday evening in Bronzeville on the South Side, police said early this morning.
Police were confronted by the man about 8:40 p.m. in the 4400 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, said Mark Payne, a spokesman for the Independent Police Review Authority. An officer fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.
Multiple guns were recovered from the scene, Payne said.
The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating. No other information was immediately available.

Ernie Brown, one of the worst exempts we've had in recent history is returned to his an exempt position he is completely unqualified for. Although Shields is losing his entire Bureau, I have a feeling he will be going up. So much for trimming the fat at the top. J-fed has f#$%ed this department up beyond belief and is reduced to being exactly what Daley wants-a kiss-ass willing to throw away all integrity to hold on to his precious $310,000 job of running a police department into the ground.
FACT: While assigned to the Academy as a Sergeant in the mid 1990's, DTEB was engaged to a police officer whose initials were F.S. (She has since left the Department for another occupation).
Their engagement came to an abrupt halt when DTEB kicked his way into F.S.'s house one night (literally broke down her front door), and proceeded to beat the shit out of her.
FACT: 90% of the instructors at the Academy knew what happened.
FACT: DTEB was protected by none other than then-Deputy Superintendent CHARLES RAMSEY, who contacted F.S. and told her to keep the situation quiet. F.S.'s other option was to be dumped to a district far, far away with a brick on her the size of Texas. F.S. elected to keep her mouth shut and DTEB gave her a wide berth.
FACT: F.S. worked with me...I saw the bruises and the scratches, and got the story from her first-hand.

I find it awfully suspicious that
Brown is promoted a day or two after the election. Does he have ties, whats the connection, why then. Brown is a piece of garbage, knew him when he first got promoted to exempt. His superiors had to watch him constantly. Jody the Jag, "change you can believe in", he's as corrupt as the rest of the Daley administration.
I can't speak on Brown's sexual proclivities, but over the years I worked for him briefly and later dealt with him as a street Deputy. In my brief experience with him, he was one of the better, more down to earth bosses that I've dealt with. Now don't go all crazy on me, I'm not kissing his ass, and I am well aware of the rumors, I'm just giving the perspective of a lowly male white sergeant who was treated like an adult by Brown, and never personally witnessed Brown do any of the shit he has been accused of. Doesn't mean he's innocent, just a different perspective.
Daley runs this City like a criminal enterprise. Just because he hasn't been caught doen't mean it's not true. The FBI use to say there was no mafia. Look at all the coruption from hired trucks to his son making millions. The one guy tey caught, they couldn't flip cause Daley threw a big party for him and said what a great guy he was. Aren't most of our CPD resumes - how shall I put this - BS? We get credit for being qualified in subjects we get little or no training in. The latest glaring example is NIMS. Our department is a national joke and it's a wonder any of us are hired for any type of law enforcement or security when we retire.

Get real. She is no longer employed by CPD and lives in a place far, far away. What's so damn ballsy about her speaking her piece when she is beyond the reach of the goofs running the department? Why should she care about the "fallout"?
I worked for EB when he was the Commander of public housing. Fair and has a good knowledge of the job. Loved workers and he was not afraid to get in the mix. Officers rarely received awards before he got there. He would come by the public housing sites on the holidays, express his thanks to the supervisors and officers and generally brought food for the troops. I think he's a qualified boss.
We are all human and have weeknesses...

Some women are willing participants in relationships that end badly - or they end up not getting promised spot - so they accuse some poor schmuck of harassment. I don't know what the case is here, but I am sick and tired of these knee-padded females. They make it harder for the real victims of harassment to be compensated for legitimate claims.

I don't want to hear Peterson defend this selection, I want the superintendent to explain it. He's the one who demoted Brown in the first place. And if everything is on the square, then justify why you made this decision Mr. Weis?

He went down to IAD where the Feds went and had him stripped of his police powers. He was lied on by a former partner of his RL who eventually was indicted by the Feds after they realized he was full of bull. Another thing moron isn't the Marshall Field Apts. a federally funded housing facility ie. section 8. I may be wrong but Thorne would have had to pass a background check to get the job. Guess he passed. Oh by the way if you are a race hater ... his former partner was white ... and Thorne was one of the straightest guys I knew when I was there. I am not blaming coppers in 008! She then drove HERSELF to the emergency room with a BROKEN LEG in her personal car after he refused her medical assistance! That takes BALLS my friend.
She had a stone cold solid beef against that jag and the department. But never lodged an allegation. She took it in stride and walked with grace.

It is amazing to me that some of you bought his story of innocence. But I can understand why, because the real innocent never told the true story. Some were brought down and listened to tapes of T's voice conversing with a VL. Little did he know the VL he was running with was wearing a wire when he was giving over info.

Getting shot doesn't MAKE YOU THE POLICE. All of us that are the POLICE know that circumstances beyond our control may get you shot, and that is what we signed up for. It almost sounds like I'm talking to you old Sarge. Sorry to say this isn't bullshit, its Chicago, many political hacks in this city get away with crimes without being indicted. I am the fact. I was one of the people called down and watched and heard the tapes when he said my name. I know there are at least two others because he said their names within the same conversation. I know the other two didn't know him at all..I never talked to them or anyone about this..and I never worked for old sarge. I stayed quiet and waited and was going to sue for defamation. Time went by and nothing was happening and I inquired as to status and I was told quote "case is closed, he retired." Interesting thing is that you missed is Hokey had old Sarge as acting lt when he was cmdr of narc. Hokey was ads of iad when old sarge got taken down and let go.

I was one of the people called down and watched and heard the tapes when he said my name. I know there are at least two others because he said their names within the same conversation. I know the other two didn't know him at all..I never talked to them or anyone about this..and I never worked for old sarge. I stayed quiet and waited and was going to sue for defamation. Time went by and nothing was happening and I inquired as to status and I was told quote "case is closed, he retired." Interesting thing is that you missed is Hokey had old Sarge as acting lt when he was cmdr of narc. Hokey was ads of iad when old sarge got taken down and let go.

(OT) more than 50 homes were hit last night at about 2 a.m., by some idiot with a paitball gun, from archer and neva down 52nd street to merrimac all northside, of the street! Could 811 look into this? Maybe the commander of 008 could put an 806 car where we pay the taxes, instead of the concentration in the shit areas!

Bobby T's problem occurred when Dave Boggs was the Commander of Narcotics and Ray Risley was the Chief of OCD.
If Risley thought that Bobby was a problem he should of moved him out immediately as he had been in-charge of IAD prior to moving up the ladder and should of had the intelligence information on misconduct.
Risley was too busy taking care of his buddy Miedznowski to pay any attention to what was going on in Narcotics and failed to provide leadership.
If there were any so-called tapes the Feds would not of hesitated to move on Bobby T.
I believe it was just all about someone (RL) looking for help at the Federal building who went after an interesting target but in the end there was no substantiating evidence and a good man was forced into retirement.

There are plenty of people that have been seriously injured on this job, shot, etc... And they are still working as a blue shirt. He happens to be a member of the L.A.P.A crowd, and was brought up through the ranks because of his race, not his competence. He himself has proven that.

I am the origional poster, i agree with you, he made meritorious det., as I think anyone who is shot, stabbed. etc on this job should, which is what I was trying to get across in my origional post. I also know the circumstances of his shooting, him and his team were hitting an apt. in ABLA when he was shot, he was being the police. As I said in my origional post, one bite of the apple....now go fuck yourself, but stay safe while doing so.....

Your own words, "he was being the police". Aren't we all being the police when we took the oath and put on the uniform? Don't we sign up for the hazards of this job? , Our job description is being the police. I will agree with you, there should be some compensation put in for those that are seriously injured, shot, stabbed etc...
But when does that job description mean meritorious ALL THE WAY? Does competence come into play? Because i am shot, stabbed or injured on the job "being the police" doesn't automatically qualify me as a good guy, a great cop, a good leader or one that commands a leadership position of many and respect of the troops beneath me. Respect is earned, leadership is by example, honor is by being honorable. Intetgrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

The Narcotic Section first had officers stealing a million dollars because of the lack of supervision and then the Bobby T. incident. A Risley surrogate admits going to the press over the first incident, which derailed the investigation by the Feds.
Gang Crimes Investigation Section you have Miedzanowski running wild and conferring with the Chief and the Chief protecting him when the ATF agents complained, which cost the City millions.
Intelligence Section you have the Chief attempting to prove the hierarchy of the PD has OC connections and when it became obvious that the Feds did not find it credible, somehow it was leaked to the media.
Risley wanted to be Superintendent. PLEASE?

Would you stop calling me a liar. I was down there and heard him speak and saw him on the tape saying 3 different names, one of which was mine.
I never worked for this man and I never had anything against him until this incident. He put me through a life of misery and being scared for 2 years, trying to figure out what the hell was happening around me all of a sudden. Come to find out one day it was because of him trying to put a case on me.
Like I said I spoke to the iad person who interviewed and showed me the tapes, and he made the "case closed BT retired" comment and wouldn't say anymore more. By that time I knew I was going to be fighting a losing battle and I dropped my intent to sue.
I don't know who RL is or the version of the story that you speak of. I wish I did. But how do you account for what I saw and I heard? Maybe he got away with what he did, maybe there wasn't enough to charge him, maybe the feds didn't like the informant, maybe there was another cop who dragged BT into some shit. But I am telling you that I saw BT handing papers to the wired dude and I heard BT say my name and tried putting me in the mix.
Again I never worked for the man and only knew him by name and was out of the unit for over a year when he was participating in these antics. I have always hoped to see him again so I can dress him down and put it right on him - why did he pick me when I hardly know him?
Its my believe he was living a double life and was lucky enough to get away with it before his true reputation got out to all of you no timers. The people I know that know the true past of him are old timers.
One more question, if he did nothing wrong and they found that he did nothing wrong - why did he retire so abruptly?

I am not who you think I am. I am someone who is so outside of the box which is why I can't even begin to guess who RL or muscleman is. But maybe I should?
No it wasn't me they cared about, they followed me over one year and pulled my phone records and knew I never associated with anyone from that unit. But they had to pull me in to question me and they were as confused as I was.
I'm sure I don't know everything that went down and don't know the part of the story you speak of. Just as you don't know about the part of the story that happened to me. I wasn't around there to gossip about this and only a few people know of my story. But if you know where BT is or where I can find him, I will confront him about what happened to me.
It appears that the only way to solve the discussion regarding Robert "Bobby" Thorne is for someone to file a freedom of information (FOIA) with the FBI and the US Attorney's Office.
This would provide interesting reading and probably would be approved as the statute of limitations has expired.
The same should be done for Ray Risley and whatever he stated regarding Rodriguez, Townsend, Ruckrich, Drammis, Malone, Hoke, Browne, Zonis and DeLeonardis' connections with organzied crime.
When the documents are retrived they could be posted on the internet.
Ray Risley has several problems that he could not overcome.
The first was he believed all of "wacky Gene's" conspiracy theories and allowed him to try to prove them even when there was no evidence to support them.
The second he can no one saying anything critical about his wife,Linda, even though everyone who worked with her said she was divisive.
The third he believed he should of been the Superintendent not Rodriguez and then Hillard.
The fourth anyone who stood in his way he went after.
Bobby Thorne is still residing in the same place he always has.
RL is Richard Lopardo and he pled guilty in Federal Court.
