We Got Bridges Here

Maybe Shortshanks could utilize this idea?
  • The [New York] Metropolitan Transportation Authority is swimming in a sea of red ink and sources tell CBS 2 HD drivers in the city might not like the bailout plan.

Nearly half a million cars go back and forth over the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg and 59th Street bridges every day for free. Some people think that's not right.

"We already have tolls at the Battery Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel, the Triborough Bridge let's put pricing on all of the crossings in between," said Sam Schwartz, one of the leading transportation engineers in the country.
At the very least, it would encourage use of public transportation, which is what Daley wants anyway. As an alternative, the Department could start running a helicopter transport service for the overly wealthy to avoid bridge tolls and parking fees.

We've already mapped out three alternate routes that avoid any bridges at all to get to and from work.

will miegs field rise from the dust again now that "renegade" has won the election. its a long way from hyde park to ohare airport. think of the traffic tie ups every time the obamas come home to visit. also who will do all the cut offs on the kennedy while the motorcade goes by. districts constantly in raps and more manpower we don't have to cover this. how about we declare cook county a "gang disaster area" and get some federal money from our newly minted president elect to save chicago. at least we can hire more police so the tax payers don't have to wait two hours for service.

We could have city stickers for bicycles. This could help the budget. Also, the city is looking at raising gun registration from $20 to $60 a year. Also a possible Chicago gunowner I.D. card at $50 a year. P.O.s will need to get one of these.

The government will tax, tax, tax, and tax! The government won't be able to find anyone who would want to buy a T-Bond or a T-Bill and the same with local governments (they won't be able to sell their municipal bonds). So the only alternative is to tax, tax, tax and tax. (Oh, and don't blame all of this on obama or the Democrats, for the most part, the Republicans spent money like water and now we are in a deep hole and Obama will do the same; he will spend money like there is no tomorrow until he can't and then it's time to tax the citizenry). You can skip your credit card payments, you can even skip your mortgage payment but try skipping your tax bills and a bunch of armed agents will come to your house and place a lien on your property and or bank accounts and force you to pay.

You know if that short little prick had to ride the el, or if his precious wife Maggie had to ride it, he'd understand why the fuck we don't want him forcing our families onto it. There's no security, and if someone targets your family member, trust me, not one person (unless there's a copper on board) is going to step in and help them. Fuck this mayor and his fucking mass transit requirements.

What difference does it make? Pension Fund has 8 to 10 yrs left. We are in a very deep recession, terrible investment advice by the managers and the Fund is as good as gone.
State Guarantee?? Ok- you really think they are going to bail out your fund?? They will get some politicians/judges to rule otherwise.

oh, just wait til he figures out the "congestion fee" imposed by London... any one who enters the designated down town area must pay on line or over the phone... it is covered with cameras at every single point of entry... if you enter without pre-paying you get charged the equivelant of $50... and it costs something like $3 a pop per car (or roughly the same as a train ride depending on which zone you enter from) ... Imagine that revenue maker! Only a matter of time I guarantee it!

Considering the only people that can possess Handguns in ther city is LEO Types & security guards that doesn't surprise. They come up w/ all sorts of weird & insidious way to get back the Shift deferential& uniform allowance monies. Thats why this City sucks along w/the suckholes who get misty eyed over this deparment. As Colonel Slade aptly said "FUCK YOU TOO!
