THANK THE COWARD FBI FOR ME WILL YOU.
Thanks, SCC. The least I can do is go say goodbye to my friend.
Any word on donations? I know he was a patient of the Rehab Institute.
R.I.P.
A good man. RIP detective.
find it amazing how you can add a tread on this blog about airharts funeral arrangements.
You don't give a dame about Airhart, if you did we would not be reading such ignorance and hate you allow and encourage on this blog.
Must be very difficult living in your demented fanatic mind.
I feel sorry for you.
THANK THE COWARD FBI FOR ME WILL YOU.
During my 27 years I know cowards who work for our department.
The FBI has cowards however so do we.
Det Airhart's body will actually be moved to the chapel at 0800 hours, with full honors. I understand it is early compared to the mass which begins at 1100 hours, but it would be a great honor and showing of camaraderie if anyone who isn't busy could be there at 0800.
Is it an honors funeral or not?
My prayers are with him and his family.
GodSpeed, brother...please know that it wasn't your family that left you there.
God speed Detective...Your family loves you.. Thanks for your sacrafice!
RIP, Brother...

Not really that amazing. A few keystrokes, hit publish, there it is. It's not that magical. All it takes is a computer.
You don't give a dame about Airhart, if you did we would not be reading such ignorance and hate you allow and encourage on this blog.
Um, bullshit? We give a pretty good damn about any copper who dies in the Line of Duty. We've made special posts for over 3 years covering Line of Duty deaths. Ignorance is a fact of life (as evidenced by your post) and hate? We defy you to point out any encouragement we've written. Is it out there? Sure. Is it cops? Not that we can prove and neither can you. And in your little world of unicorns, rainbows and "hope," maybe you view everything through your own narrow lenses. Sorry you see the world as black v white. We see lots of gray and a very thin blue line.
Must be very difficult living in your demented fanatic mind.
No more so than in your tiny little brain. We respected Joe way more than you do attacking us in a simple post meant to let everyone know about the arrangements for a hero cop.
I feel sorry for you.
Yeah, right asshat.
S.C.C. Thank You very much for posting the funeral information.
This site is very informative from;
wakes/funerals, police shootings, officers hurt and injured (officer down), 10-1 benefits, contract updates, sarcasm and silliness, silly people, rumors, scandals, media, city and national politics, sports, open posts to VENT... and just everyday bullshit district to district hearsay.
all of this being done just keeping us "COPS" in touch.
scumtimes and triboners are no more professional than The Honorable S.C.C.
So FUCK YOU who posted 11/08/2008
10:22:00 AM.....go sign up for a home delivery newspaper asshat!!!
Thanks again for the serious stuff that truely matters and the shit that makes me LOL
Well written SCC

Whoever posted that is a fucking goof.I hope to God you are not the Police....but it would not surprise me these days
I am humbled when I read about such a hero, as Joe Airhart. I never met him. I do not know what happened on that terrible day, when he was shot.
I only know he suffered terribly for his brave act that day.
Let's Honor this Brave Hero by letting His Family, and Whoever Reads This Post Know That We Can "Try" to be as Professional and Courageous as Joe Airhart.
Hey SCC are there any more Po's in this condition that need some prayers?? (Injured on duty with the possibility of death)

SCC is very involved in the police memorial. He has provided an outlet for officers, active and retired, their families, families of our fallen, civilians, etc.
We may not agree with him on all his posts, but I think he does a great job. I don't see him "promoting" hate, but just simply telling the truth. Something NEW in this city...

PO JIM CROWLEY since 1987
God bless Airhart. It's sad that the media was lax in covering his story in the 7 years since the shooting. Prayers from myself(9 years former CPD) and the rest of my partners at the Illinois State Police. - Pat Mc. *** I'll see you at the wake Sunday at 3 P.M.
I am not brave. I have awards that say I am. They mean nothing because of this!!!
I will be dammned if I let that happen to MY partner. I repeat, MY partner.
Airheart's shootimg is/was the greatest showing of cowardice "I" (us,CPD)have ever seen.
As stated before, I aint tough, but I would never let my partner die.
Get it FBI????? Jody, G-man, get it?
God bless you Joe, I hope the new cops learn what happened.
It's so sad that the many officers who worked and still work on FBI Task forces...and who KNOW THE TRUTH OF WHAT HAPPENED THAT TRAGIC DAY have to read the BS that is being posted on this blog.
Joe was a hero...his family deserves our prayers...but I can assure that it could have been any officer or FBI agent that day who walked into Sally's apartment. Let's not forget who pulled the trigger to end Joe's life. Joe was proud to be working with the FBI...as are many officers today.
The FBI isn't perfect...and neither are we. But we're fighting the same battle. We're all fighting the Sally's of the world to try and make Chicago a better place for the people who can't defend themselves.
Ripping the FBI solves nothing and makes us look petty. Virtually everytime an officer gets shot, mistakes were made somewhere. But we never blame each other when an officer goes down...unless the officer happens to be working on an FBI Task Force. I hope the comments on this blog ripping the FBI represent a tiny fraction of the department.
Based upon my contacts with the officers I work with, thankfully I think it does.
Let's stop pointing fingers. Joe died a hero. I had the honor of working with him. He was exactly where he wanted to be and respected the officers AND FBI AGENTS that he worked with. Let's not use his legacy as a way to fight our petty battles with the FBI.
Joe deserves better than that.

There ARE many of us that read and comment on this blog that are NOT the police and do not reside in Northern Illinois, but greatly appreciate SCC for allowing us to do so. I for one do not appreciate "YOUR" reference that "WE" would not be reading, which makes the assumption that you are speaking for the rest of "US" and that "WE" somehow share your feelings on this matter. In the future, if "YOU" desire to spew hatred on this blog, and SCC gives you the opportunity to do so, please refer only to "YOURSELF", as "I" do not share your viewpoint.
Thank goodness I still live in a country that allows me the Freedom of Speech that provides a place such as this to "freely" write what I feel. That also means that not everyone is going to agree with everything I say. If you do not share the pride and deep respect most who comment on here possess for those who dedicate (and sometimes sacrifice) their lives in order to protect the rest of us, then perhaps you should go somewhere else. The fact that you used this particular post (Airhart Arrangements) to make such callous and uncaring remarks, tells me everything that I need to know about you. You should be ashamed of yourself for your total disregard for this honorable man, his family, friends, and the comrades that worked with, respected, and now mourn him.
To the Airhart family, my heartfelt condolences. There is a special place in heaven for those such as your Joe. God bless he and you.... May he now rest is peace.
SCC: Great response to the idiot who said you did not give a damn about fallen officers. You told this goof that you give a "pretty good damn about ANY officer who dies in the line of duty."
Given this position (which I believe) I sincerely hope and encourage you to take a stand on the controversy that has brewed over the line of duty death of Constable James Quinn, the earliest known officer to die in the line of duty...your initial post on Quinn said you "did not have a dog in the fight'" Remember?
I hope you that you will consider rethinking that initial posture and come out publicly in favor of finally honoring the Constable's ultimate sacrifice. Given the mountains of original primary source evidence supporting a line of duty death claim, I am sure you will. ...thanks!
Just go to: www.constablequinn.com and click on "Just the Facts" to get a refresher on all the facts and evidence...and it really should mean something that seven professional historians from the Chicago History Museum found 7 to 0 that Quinn was a LODD. In fact they commented, "We can say with certainty that Constable Quinn is the earliest known Chicago Police Officer to die in the line of duty." That should mean something don't you think?
Thanks!
R.I.P.
As an aside, I hope thst SCC can put it's vile hatred of the FBI aside and stop using Officer Airhart tragic death to further such a campaign.
Unless I'm mistaken, whenever an officer goes down, SCC does not allow postings that are critical of the circumstances of the incident. I respect and appreciate that rule. Second guessing with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight accomplishes nothing positive. Whether an officer's partner is a fellow CPD or with some other agency, I feel that criticizing the actions of others is still wrong.
If SCC is now changing its rules regarding the posting of assinine comments from people who were not at the scene and who don't know all of the details of any particular incident, then I suggest that they stop the double-standard and allow postings of ALL shootings involving officers.
Since SCC has no problem running one idiotic comment after another regarding the tragedy of officer Airhart, then I would hope that SCC has the intestinal fortitude to run similars comments the whenever a tragedy strikes our department again. Does SCC really want to go down that path?. I would hope not.
C'mon SCC...you're better than that. Stop hurting the reputation that you have for being a good sounding board against the Mayor and worthy targets by ceasing your constant bashing of the FBI. I don't agree with everything the FBI does, but to blame them for what happened to Officer Airhart is wrong and diminishes the otherwise intelligent commentary that SCC offers Chicago.
Now if only the FOP and the CPD Memorial Society could have got the dates right in their e-mails. Both of them put the funeral on Tuesday.
Rest In Peace Joe, and may God surround your loved one's with His peace and love.
God speed Detective...Your family loves you.. Thanks for your sacrafice!
He was murdered. NO Sacrifice
"We can say with certainty that Constable Quinn is the earliest known Chicago Police Officer to die in the line of duty." That should mean something don't you think?
Thanks!
This was the fallout amongst Cline& personnel in the early stages of the CPD Memorial Fund.
When furnished w/this info he refused to change course being that you had the Caspar Lauer Motorcycle Run& the CPD Pipe Band buying a new headstone for Cap Lauer & all.
Btw, What ever happeend to that Headstone Program I and many of my fellow Officers contributed to?
Any of the CPD Band members care to"pipe" up about where the program currently stands?
