Chicago’s top cop says it might be time to re-think the so-called “War on Drugs.”
Jody Weis says rising violence is a bigger issue for police on the street.
WEIS: I hate to say it, but if you have a gang that’s simply selling drugs and not killing anyone, that’s not on our priority list. There are far too many that are engaged in simple violence.

Go after the people buying the drugs. Impound their cars and make them pay to get them out. So much for the "broken windows" theory of policing - just let everything go to shit now. Really, when I was actually doing police work, those one rock CB#s were very helpful - everybody was in the system with photo, tatoos, old address etc. But why would anyone do police work now? Without the support of the community and even our own organization, it is like going out without a vest. The legal and moral backing of our department is just as important as a bullet proof vest. Young aggressive officers be careful - you may want to work, but the time is not right. These non police civilian suits (Jfed and his buddies included) leading our department may be good administrators, but they have NO concept of police work. They will hurt you because they don't know the difference between aggressive police work and misconduct. Do not put your family and carreer on the line for them - they wil hurt you.
FACT: Jfed has an abnormally large prefrontal cortex. If that is the case, he should be able to regulate impulsive behavior and or speech to a higher degree than the average human. This does not seem to be the case because this creepy Cabbage Patch Doll is always sticking his foot in his mouth.

Beat guys should be making more of these smaller dope pinches but the tact and gangs being pressured for the pinch a day stuff...well you're not going to lower the violence one rock or nickle at a time..they need to focus on more serious stuff..
I think he just misstated himself..Clearly violence is up and lets face it, many tact and gang teams are bringing in a nickle or a rock, just to get their daily pinch and then they're done..More emphasis needs to be paid on the gang conflicts, finding the guns and heading off the violence and less on a pinch a day..Looks to me that's what he meant...And let's not even get into the public drinker arrest, loose cigarettes, and the teams who take shoplifters...It's not that dope needs to be ignored but tact and gangs need to step up their game and focus on bigger fish...
