Poll - Hamsterdam

Homage to "The Wire"

"Hamsterdam" shall be the Official Police Department designation for which District or Area?
003 District
006 District
007 District
011 District
015 District
All of Area 1
All of Area 2

UPDATE: Ok, we get the 023 jokes. Thanks. And someone in another comment section missed the humor that the dope dealers misheard the cops saying "Amsterdam" as "Hamsterdam." We imagine not 1 out of 1,000 dope dealers could even name the continent Amsterdam was located on.

Somewhere else, like the infamous 025.
025 can give that area away from Kostner-Central PK, and North-Division.
Just a cesspool of police-hating public, 4th generation welfare, and
career thugs/bangers.
Now that this HAMSTERDAM has come up,Im willing to take napalm off the table.

In 012 west of Damen East of Western. Between the Eisenhower and Taylor

The reason? We give you all the dope you want.... Free of charge

The only caveat is that if one overdoses they do NOT get resciutated (sp?)

Then they are only steps from the morgue

I would come out of retirement and work the wagon if I could help clear the human refuse off the streets and onto a metal tray at 2121 Harrison

Id stack'em like cordwood as they were dropping like flies

In sixty days 90% of the problems in Chicago would be dead and cremated

SCC

The wire is truly the best show about the " game " that I have ever seen on TV. They didnt miss a trick, Theshoooting violence backstabbing by dope boys on each other was terrific. Most realistic show about the dope game anyone could ever hope to see. It even covered the bull Comm Stat numbers chase shit that all these commanders get caught up in to keep their asses off the hot seat. " Bunny Colvin" The Commander in Baltimore came up with the ingenious plan to put all the shit in one place and eliminate the slinging on all the corners in his command. On TV it worked. In real life probably not so much greed would set in and the sanctioned area of " Hamsterdam " would quickly be outgrown. NIce idea though, just send a wagon around in the morning to pick up the overdosed bodies of all the dead junkies.

The Wire ,no doubt best cop show ever on TV about the dope game on the corners in urban areas, Any cop who ever worked a getto district will swear by it.

Excellent curb service; quality sticky buds at a reasonable price. Three toke shit! Great for getting your freak on in tantric sex.
Within minutes, we're back in Oak Park with a lid of quality reefer.

I hope they don't legalize it because of inevitable and prohibitive taxing.

According to ABC7 News...

The otherwise peaceful activities of people celebrating the Obama victory were marred by Chicago Police Officers on the west side, who "racially taunted and maced" them.

It was reported that many lawsuits are expected to be filed by people who were maced on election night.

The news broadcasters clearly painted themselves as biased judge and jury, implying that the police were indeed guilty.

Where was the balance of the story? Where was the voice of the CPD (not IPRA) in that broadcast? Was there no one available from CPD to report to ABC7 News how crazy it was on the south and west sides of the city on election night?

Was there no one from CPD available to carefully explain to the citizens of Chicago what an ILEAS Alarm is and that was activated well in advance of election night, mobilizing scores of suburban, county and state police personnel into the City of Chicago to help maintain basic law & order?

Was there no one available to tell the good people of Chicago why they were needed?

Was there no one with the intestinal fortitude to stand in front of a news camera and honestly tell the story how the city feared near-total anarchy on the south and west sides of the city on election night?

Where were the television news crews on election night in the south and west sides of our city? Where was their video report of all the civil disorder and mob violence on these streets, while everyone downtown was peaceful and happy?

There were different Chicagos on election night. Unfortunately, the media only has the Grant Park version to show you on the boob tube.

They certainly would not want to embarrass our Mayor or President-Elect by showing you the west side or south side versions of our fair city, with all the civil disobedience, violence and destruction on the streets.

Where was the leadership of our department while we were getting thrown under the bus... again?

And everyone wonders why the police in Chicago really don't give a shit anymore.

Folks, we are tired of getting beat up.

We are tired of all the lies and half-truths.

We are tired of being used, abused and disrespected.

We are tired of putting our asses on the line for you each day to keep anarchy from your front door each night... with no support from the citizens or our city government.

We are beyond demoralized... this city is truly lost.

You gotta rethink this, Mr. Mayor. If we set up and regulate bordellos, Starbucks cannabis bars and casino gambling at Navy Pier, we could tax it billions of dollars for revenue. A great tourist attraction and city coffers would overflow.

We could drive Amsterdam, Bangkok and Monte Carlo, maybe even Vegas into bankruptcy. Like you say, we gotta think outta da box.

First Shields then Brown. That's just the trend. Who will be next? They say the South Chicago Cmdr is no stranger to this either. See how he tried to salvage his reputation by sending his 2year wonder to 1st watch, and placing her on a team other hard working officers have been trying to get on.Talk about fair. (OT)SCC, I just wanted to let everyone know that the Windy City Veterans Association annual fundraiser was a success last night! Next week, we will be delivering a check for $8000.00 to the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno, IL.
As we approach Veteran's Day, it is refreshing to see that despite the low morale and poor economy, people still can come together to assist their military veterans.
The crowd at the Beverly Woods Restaurant was large and made up of military veterans past and present and their families and friends. The atmosphere was patriotic and proud.
SCC, thank you for allowing me to get the word out about the venue change at the last minute. There were a lot of coppers who attended...quite a few learned about the venue change from reading your blog!
As my second term as President comes to an end this upcoming May 2009, I will fondly look back to these two years of presiding over one the greatest veterans' organizations in Illinois! It has truly been my honor to lead the men and women of the Windy City Veterans Association. To all of the Marines out there..."Happy Birthday!"
Godspeed.

You're right, it's not "The Shield." No unbelievable characters, no contrived plots and no wet dream for immature tact guys to have before they wake up and realize they're not really Vic Mackey.

The Wire! As mentioned numerous times the best cop show ever. I'm gonna say Jimmy Mc Nulty was best tv cop. Natural Police as they say. The producers were from Baltimore AND had a PD background. Read Homicide Life on the street and The Corner two books that were from the Wire people! Stay safe

Purple Shades,

Why don't you run another term? I think you did a fine job bringing in young vets. It would be a shame to go back to the old Windy City regime again. It's been nice having you run things. Nice work on the fundraiser. Say hi to Pop for me.

Downtown ernie brown? He was investigated a few years ago by feds and now a chief? Can you say, "stop fighting crime"? Brown will be the perfect friend to any current orgnaized crime members. Italians are out and black gangs will rule. Drugs and money.

11/08/2008 08:18:00 AM

You ain't kidding. I want someone to explain this to me.

In February the supt apparently felt that Ernest was not qualified or was not doing his job well enough to be an ADS. In fact, the supt must have felt so strongly about Ernest's lack of ability that he double demoted him to the lowest position that he could - back down to Ernest's rank as a district field lieutenant.

Eight months later the supt apparently feels that Ernest has proven himself to such impressive levels that he triple promotes him? And to an extremely sensitive unit of confidentiality, knowing Ernest has a vast background of leaning toward the wrong side of the fence?

I don't care what he was like in the district with you youngins. But some of us know his true colors and what he did to rise through the ranks and what he did when he was in OCD.

Birds of a feather flock together. His associates Green and Thorne should be enough to paint a clear picture of what we're in for and what his agenda is. It isn't for the police. Be careful OCD.

And F U supt.

I can't speak on the mental capacity of the TRU Officer in question, but I can tell you that I have heard the term "barn" used over the last 20 years relative to any police facility. Such as "I'm heading back to the barn for check off". It's really not that big of a deal.

I find it more ironic that they used the term "Strike Force" for the new Unit to replace SOS! ha ha

"Look at todays suntime seems ernie has troubles!"

Actually, the article is misleading. Brown was dropped from consideration for a Police Chief job about two months ago after they discovered he had falsified information submitted to the out of state agency (Arizona).
When they came here to check Brown out, he informed them of his new position, but proported himself to have far more responsibilities at Area 1 than he actually had. Needless to say, the folks from Az. were not impressed.
Now, in all of his wisdom, Weis has plucked Brown from the ranks of the demoted and given him a financial plum, acting Chief of the Organized Crime Division. The fact that Weis, or someone under him, actually followed protocols on this one and sent out a formal teletype of the appointment pretty much says that this is a done deal.
Here's a guy with serious credit problems, several noted beefs involving women (and the most recent ones have apparently come from the estranged Ms. Brown, who has since left the job and moved out to California to escape the stigma of being married to EB) who was recently shut down from consideration for a high profile Police Chief job out in Az, and what does out new Superintendent do? Makes him a Chief. Sometimes, you just have to wonder if we're laughing harder at ourselves or are coppers from outside agencies laughing harder AT US.

you don't have to be the real police to get anything in 007. Just drive around and it will jump on your hood.

That can be said about any busy district, it's alittle harder but more rewarding when you learn to look for it, develop informants etc. instead of waiting for a job on the radio or having it fall across the hood of the squad...

Was he under arrest at the time of statement or what? I highly doubt the state would have approved felony charges with an error like that. You do know the difference don't you? I mean you are a Ranger, right? Or are you one of the 6 year on the job, and 4.5 years in the lockup assholes.
I guess it doesn't matter being that shit just jumps on your hood, or are you just that awesome? Im positive you believe in your awesomeness. I believe in you too buddy.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! By proclamation of the President-elect of the USA, Lord Barry Obambiden, from this day forward the Hyde Park neighborhood of the City of Chicago is renamed and will be officially known as OBAMA HEIGHTS, in honor of the most famous resident of the neighborhood and the loftiness of the position he is soon to occupy.

Also, it should be known, the name Qu'ran Acres was also considered and came in a close second.
