Hawks Improve - Bears Tread Water

Four in a row. 6-1 over a flu-stricken Calgary team. You take the wins where you can get them.
  • Patrick Kane and Martin Havlat each had a goal and two assists and the Blackhawks beat the Calgary Flames 6-1 on Sunday night for their fourth straight victory.

Kris Versteeg and Jonathan Toews each added a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, 6-0-2 at home. Aaron Johnson and Troy Brouwer also scored for Chicago (7-3-3), off to its best start since 2001-02 -- the last time it made the playoffs.
Balanced attack, good goal tending, power play coming on line and the penalty killing superb. And yes, we made the game on time - we meant to hit 6 instead of 7 and didn't correct it when we discovered the error. It's like a spelling mistake.

The Bears on the other hand...
  • Had the field-position battle not been so lopsided in favor of Tennessee, the Bears might have had a better chance to knock off the league's only undefeated team Sunday. Instead the Bears' 21-14 loss at Soldier Field kept the 9-0 Titans streaking and left the 5-4 Bears tied with Minnesota for the NFC North lead.
Starting from your own 20-yard-line all day while the other guys are driving in from the 50 is brutal.

Blackhawks playing some excellant hockey right now.I haven't seen them play this good since the 90's If they continue to improve they are very capable of having a better season than the Redwings. No bullshit.I love the way the fans have been chanting "DETROIT SUCKS" the last couple of games.KEEP IT UP.
GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!

The bears game wasn't that bad, they played the #1 defense in the league and still could have won, had Orton been playing. Grossman's rust showed, he missed many opportunities and it hurt them big time. The hawks look great, what a difference a young team with speed makes! there penalty killing is excellent but the power play still needs work, 1 for 5 tonight; they have been fun to watch...

the mighty blackhawks are starting to get attention. watched most of the game and the forecheck and backcheck was very good. i have noticed that they are spread out nice and not as bunched up as they were before. last night they played like they had an extra man out there and beat calgary to the puck. the circus trip is coming up. if they can stay above 500 on the road they make the playoffs this year.

Chanting Detroit sucks at a Hawks game when they are playing another team is as ignorant as Sox fans chanting Cubs suck when they arent playing each other.
