A Chicago alderman wants police Supt. Jody Weis to be disciplined for making a statement in a TV interview earlier this month that seemed to support Barack Obama's candidacy.
Earlier this year, the department reprimanded a detective who campaigned for Ald. Tom Allen (38th) in his failed race for Cook County state's attorney. The department found the detective had violated a rule barring officers from engaging in partisan activity while wearing the uniform or identifying themselves as officers.

Does anyone know about this Cook County Internal investigation going on? I know there was an earlier post about it but Im wondering if that investigation is involving the same situation BD (019 lockup) may find himself in... Retiring soon, so good for you BD Just wondering if (and I saw a LOT of 019 ties to the cook county guy) I put a mark down, lets say, would I have anything to worry about??? I dont understand why the feds or anyone else for that matter would give 2 shits about friendly wagers... Don't worry, the article says he contacted IPRA as soon as he realized he might have broken a rule. No comment as to why he doesn't realize IPRA doesn't handles such complaints. What a fucking joke. All CR#'s are generated by IPRA (as they were with OPS); kind of a central control point. You should really know a little something about the discipline process they use against you.
Wies is "exempt". That means he had better support Obama!
Is this not his 3rd CR#? Should be not be placed in BIS or PCP? Would any other Recruit get off probation with three CR#'s?

Allen did not initiate the investigation. All he did was answer questions when the media asked him about it.
