"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said President-Elect Obama in a news conference at his Chicago transition headquarters.
"We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."
In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance.
Approximately 87 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability.
At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an excellent record of hiring Persons of Inability (81%).
Private-sector industries with good records of non-discrimination against the Inept include Fannie Mae (76%), Freddie Mac (75%), the automotive industry (71%), and the airline industry (62%).

The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.
"There is no reason why every company in America cannot achieve the standards of Bear Stearns or Lehman Brothers," President-Elect Obama said.

8th district friday nite/saturday morning had an accident where a car crashed into a building at 63/central and then caught on fire. Next the building went up in flames. CFD shows up, puts the fire out. The temperature was about 20 degrees,so all the water the CFD used froze up on the street. Sgt asks for streets and san to come out to salt down the street so it can be safely driven on, and streets and san responds that no one is coming because of budget cuts. Can't wait for the first snowfall

Dont venture to areas of the city that arent meant to be seen even by dogs. If they go NW ask some guys up there for good bars, if they go sw i suggest western avenue from 103-111th for local quiet irish pubs in a nice neighborhood. While obviously division st is a big tourist spot for bars as is rush street. PLENTY of bars in chicago.

Is there a word for those horrible movies and television shows that are coming out of Hollyweird?
Like those movies that you know the ending within the first few minutes of watching it and the dialogue is nothing but pop-culture phrases strung together in semi-coherent sentences. The only comic relief from the idiocy is the obligatory slipping and/or falling off of something onto the floor, only to pop back up into the camera's view. The characters are always shallow, the dialogue and comedy is sophomoric and there always needs to be some reference to sex and a boob shot.
What's even more aggravating is tv shows like CSI. Who the hell thinks this is what real police work is like? They work in pristine lofts surrounded by millions of dollars in equipment and 50 inch plasma screens (that they all are qualified to use and act like scientists with their white lab coats). There is no paper work, seem to work around the clock, no mention of overtime and they have a 100% clearance rate!

*****READ ME**** Got your attention? I am a retired Exempt member from the cognitive past, a "newbie" to this site, and have made some profound observations. This site can be the medium for the obsurd or a tool of information and speculation. Either way, it has proven to perform an important function among the rank and file. With that being said, I have found myself sitting in front of the television and see a blood thirsty media waiting to badger the Department at any turn. I have been forced to hear the ramblings of lawsuit crazed lawyers and "Westside residents" tell their tales of woe about some alleged pepper spraying of crowds on election night. This story has been shoved down the taxpayers throats for almost a week without reprieve. However, Friday, November 24 was a different story. I happened to turn on Fox 32 News at 9 and it opened with a breaking story of how severalHarrison Tactical Officers and their Sergeant entered a burning building and rescued several residents. The reporter was extremely dramatic and did a great job of sensationalizing this story. Whether it actually happened that way or not, this reporter really made heroes out of these officers and had to make the decent citizens of Chicago think. We have a bunch of street cops who were allegedly terrorizing the good citizens on election night, now running into a burning building to save them. The West Side seems to have always had success in getting cop-hating stories to the headlines, but now we had the upper hand if only for the night. The tragedy of this whole situation is that the "powers to be" in the Department failed to take a golden opportunity and run with it. One would think that News Affairs or Queen Monique would have held a press conference just to shove some "good cop" news down the public's throat for a change. This new Supt. obviously shows his inexperience by not capitalizing on an opportunity to play the media in our direction. Lets face it, like him or not, when Mr. Jody speaks... good, bad, or indifferent, the media is all over it. I can't believe that in this environment of terrible police press, your Commander in Chief can't even say a few good words for you guys. In closing, I just want to say that I have overwhelming respect for the street cop, especially in these thankless times. I really understand why morale is so low when your boss can't even publicly acknowledge good police work or a good deed. May god bless you all and I look forward to reading and posting. Ree-TIRED Guy

Studies have shown nonrepetitive and occasional spelling errors and minor grammatical mistakes are not an indication of a diminished overall intelligence. No WAY! PJ's bark is just that, noise and drool. Nacho wants to basically be left alone. GM spends more time avoiding you than you spend avoiding him. Here is some good news for the CPD.
About halfway through Ken’s speech, plaza security and the Chicago Police let us know we weren’t really welcome on their private property any more. So we moved over to the public sidewalk and Ken resumed. While Ken was speaking, one of many amazing things from Saturday happened. A Chicago police officer began asking me about our plans. After I explained the plan, he said, “I’m going to walk with you.” As Ken was finishing, another Chicago police officer, apparently assigned to our group (the CPD had no advance warning of our rally and march), “Officer Ruben” asked me for the specifics of our route.
I was concerned at first, wondering where we were going to be told we couldn’t go. As we spoke, it seemed a little odd to me that Officer Ruben was making constructive suggestions about particular details of the route. As it turned out, Ruben walked with us the entire 2+ miles of the route, clearing sidewalks for us, getting us across some busy Chicago streets pretty efficiently. He commented a couple times that he wanted to make sure our rights of free speech and peaceable assembly were respected.
About 15 minutes into the march, I started thinking I was just dreaming, and the march hadn’t started yet. If we were really marching, I’d see tasers and riot gear, and direction to a First Amendment Participation Area. Well it was all true. Ruben had a few other people helping him along the way, at least one on bicycle. Any time we encountered a police officer during the march, Ruben had called in advance, and they knew we were coming and helped make the march smooth.
Strange as this may sound to many of us very wary of the growing police state in America, on Saturday, November 22, 2008, I can’t say enough about how the Chicago Police Department helped make the Rally for Sound and Constitutional Money / End the Fed a huge success. They did indeed “protect and serve.” I intend to write letters to the editor of the Sun-Times and Tribune, as well as directly to the CPD, about how well our group was treated, and how well our constitutional rights were respected. I encourage all participants in the event to do the same.
Thanks to all our chant leaders!! I don’t think we marched more than a few steps without a chant of some sort followed by a loud response of END THE FED! Let’s see,

- gold is money
- it’s your money
We were not only seen, we were heard.
In Millennium Park, we had another inspirational speech from Clyde Cleveland, 2002 candidate for governor of Iowa, author of Restoring the Heart of America, and founder of http://www.rhofam.com/ and http://www.commonsenserevisited.org/. Clyde shared some great information with the group about our country’s founding, Thomas Paine’s influence, and how quickly something that seems hopeless can turn around. Thank you Clyde and your crew for coming all the way from Iowa!
We then headed into the shopping district. Although I discourage Christmas festivities before Thanksgiving, on this day I was glad to see a lot of shoppers out. The ABC-7 studios are on the north side of the loop. That was the first place we passed by heading into the shopping district. As expected, they didn’t scramble a camera crew down to get our story. The chanting, and literature / DVD distribution were relentless.
We finally made it to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago building, where we met up with a few more from our group that had been hanging out there for a while. They pushed our numbers very close to 300. And what a place for the finale’. Surrounded by tall buildings, there was no place for the sound to go. “END THE FED” was amplified to a roar, and it felt so good to finally see a lot of people screaming in anger at a government perpetrated crime.
We had a final rousing speech from Dan Druck, decorated United States Air Force veteran, entrepreneur, and two (going on three) time candidate for US Congress. Dan put the vipers and thieves on notice that their time was ending, and ours was beginning.
Thanks to all who helped organize this event, it was truly nonpartisan, with a lot of participation from libertarians, Ron Paul supporters, 9-11 truth folks, and generally interested parties. Thanks to those who were out and about downtown during the week putting up fliers promoting the event. Thanks to Kevin, who mentioned our little event to NBC, and after they saw how many people we had marching past the NBC Tower, sent a camera to the Fed and got a very positive piece (short as it was) about us on the 5:00 news. Thanks to our three incredibly inspirational speakers who injected so much energy into the group. From what I’ve read in the 48 hours since we landed, people are champing at the bit to get this movement more active. Thanks again to “Officer Ruben” and the Chicago Police Department for doing what government is supposed to do -- protect our rights!!
Most of all, thanks to everyone who came or otherwise supported our event by helping with signs, putting a few bucks in the chipin, or any other manner of support. We had people from Rockford, downstate Illionois, Iowa and Wisconsin. We even had a couple dogs swoop in from Bloomington, Indiana (I think they got a ride from their owners). We even had a gentleman who flew in from China Saturday morning and headed straight downtown. I’ve provided links below to all the videos and stills I’ve found about the Chicago event. Andre is the real police - just look at all those ribbons. He has them on his jacket, vest, uniform shirt, iron-on ones on his t-shirt and tattoos of ribbons on his chest. Ex-commander of B&A took transfer to Detached Services so he wouldn't have to hear him begging to take him back. And Lonzo tells you straight up: I'm not your friend or buddy. A Sgt would almost be insulted by the do-nothing po who may of typed these perceptions of the 010 3rd Watch Sgts who cover for your lazyness on a day to day basis. Sgts really shake their heads at 80% of the lazy, hood rat chasing, no activity, Officers which now call 3rd watch home in 010. 20% of the Pos who do the work are highly respected by their Sgts and can actually call themselves the POLICE. The "Go To Guys". Persons like yourself, probably the moron who cant write a two sentence case report, should do what a double jointed person does best and suck your own d**k. You need to appreciate the carrying your Sgts do for you. Hope you actually believe we mean it when we tell you "Good Job", for basic tasks. Is it not knowing how to handle supervisor related issues when they come up? or
Do they continually have to monitor you on jobs because you stay down on them way to long, or consistently screw up your assignments?
I have been a Supervisor over 8 years, the ones that bad mouthed me were the dogs, the ones that appreciated me were the workers, not that I need either ones approval, but I do understand the biggest whiners are the dogs. It would be nice if we all just did our jobs. Those of you who slack off and dog it, you are not hurting the Supt or the Mayor you are hurting your fellow officers.
I am not asking you to go out and write 50 parkers, 10 movers, or 5 curfews, just answer your jobs in a timely fashion, come clear, and be available to help out if someone needs it.

It's amazing how similar my experiences have been living on the northside. I grew up in Mount Greenwood and spent a lot of time in those bars. I lived in Bridgeport for 10 years without incident. Since I've moved north, my car has been broken into, been in several bar fights (amazingly your description of southsiders is exactly what I've experienced from northsiders. Nothing but drunk, arrogant and self-righteous idiots who are quick to insult the southside without ever setting foot there), and everything is more expensive. Everyone that lives north shops in Niles and everyone that lives south shops in Orland Park... what's the fucking difference?

Hows that??? Petes a great guy, willing to help you out if you need it. Seans a good guy too. Rose hasnt been back in 010 long enuff to judge her like that. The traffic accident she was in set her back a year or soo. Jeff is the "go-to" Sgt! He will go out of his way to put Pos in for an award. I watched him stay late, on his own time, to put people in for one. He didnt have to be your Sgt. to do it either. You sir, are the idiot. "...Lewis also tracked down Steve Eisman, the hedge fund investor who early on saw through the subprime mortgages and shorted the companies engaged in them, like Long Beach Financial, owned by Washington Mutual.
“Long Beach Financial,” wrote Lewis, “was moving money out the door as fast as it could, few questions asked, in loans built to self-destruct. It specialized in asking homeowners with bad credit and no proof of income to put no money down and defer interest payments for as long as possible. In Bakersfield, Calif., a Mexican strawberry picker with an income of $14,000 and no English was lent every penny he needed to buy a house for $720,000.”
Lewis continued: Eisman knew that subprime lenders could be disreputable. “What he underestimated was the total unabashed complicity of the upper class of American capitalism... ‘We always asked the same question,’ says Eisman. ‘Where are the rating agencies in all of this? And I’d always get the same reaction. It was a smirk.’ He called Standard & Poor’s and asked what would happen to default rates if real estate prices fell. The man at S.& P. couldn’t say; its model for home prices had no ability to accept a negative number. ‘They were just assuming home prices would keep going up,’ Eisman says.”
That’s how we got here — a near total breakdown of responsibility at every link in our financial chain, and now we either bail out the people who brought us here or risk a total systemic crash. These are the wages of our sins. I used to say our kids will pay dearly for this. But actually, it’s our problem. For the next few years we’re all going to be working harder for less money and fewer government services — if we’re lucky.

If they go NW ask some guys up there for good bars, if they go sw i suggest western avenue from 103-111th for local quiet irish pubs in a nice neighborhood. While obviously division st is a big tourist spot for bars as is rush street. PLENTY of bars in chicago.
Sexty-sex on Western/69rd is recommended too. Good clean disease-free methodist crowd. No grab ass "curse of the irish" stalkers in there like those on Western/103th-111st.
I work in 010 on 3rd watch & have no problems with the Sgts in any such way. And the few new Sgt's we've gotten in the past year are really good!
But I'm sure the Sgt in 010 (or anywhere for that matter) know who they have to keep their eyes on! You know those people, the ones on personal concerns, retards w/ a badge, functional morons, ect.
The Sgt's ain't supposed to be your friend or clean up after you like mom!
This job is so EASY! I wonder what the Sgt did to piss you off? Handle your beat? Drop paper? What?!
There are too many police I know who couldn't be greeters at Walmart! Stop complaining! Did you know we get an extra check on the 1st? For nothing!!

Easy there sweet cheeks. I 'm just sitting in my trailer park with my sister/wife and my two-headed child playing the banjo... yes sometimes life is hard on us simple folk, but all we have to do remind ourselves of when the whitesox won the world series in '05 and life isn't so bad.
I'm sure when you're living in your 900 sq foot $700,000 luxury condo, no parking and a closet full of pink and other bright colored shirts you are veerrrry gay, I mean happy and when you get sad, you can always turn to your cubbies who won... ahh...never mind
Just for the record, I agree 010 dist does have the worst sgts. This is probably due to the fact that most of them maded it "meritoursly" , if you know what I mean. Posted by the best boss. HA HA HA

A good Sgt is on that comes when I call, leaves me alone on my jobs. Most importantly, doesn't find work for the troops or makes a caper out of 19p or a RD# advising warrants

You have no idea what a Supervisors is being paid to do. You must be a Super cop or something, huh? You think on-views don't happen? You want Supervisors hiding in the same hole your in? Please....... Your "idea" of a good supervisor sounds more like a description of your dog. Here supervisor, come! Sit, stay! You realize how dumb you sound? Hey, Po without a clue, take the promotion test and then see how long you last sitting back waiting for all your Po's to respect you... KMA Please stop sharing your ignorant wisdom and ideas. Those "capers" are called "C.Y.A.". You go get sued on your own time..... Dont involve other Officers and Supervisors because you "Know it all". Another 2-3 year wonder......

Take it easy dude. I am going to politely assume that you misread what the first post was saying. He said "A good sgt is "one" that comes when I call" It was a typo.
And I'm a supervisor and I agree with the first post. Drive by and do your check. Let them do their job. Dont create bs for them to do when they're already overwhelmed with bs.
You're okay post one. If post two didn't misunderstand what you said, then he/she is the supervisor you're talking about.
As a PO in 010 I would love to hear which Sgt's are merit and which Sgt's made the grade. Anyone know?
